Think Fit!! Be Fit

Think Fit, Be Fit
Do you think of exercise as a chore? Or do you think of it as a pathway to health and physical well-being? Do you consider yourself in shape and strong, or unfit and weak?
The way you think about your physical fitness abilities may actually help determine to what degree activity benefits — or doesn't benefit — your body. A recent study showed that the power of a positive mind-set may play an even bigger role than anyone thought.
A study conducted by a Harvard psychologist showed that how physically active you think you are affects how your body responds to activity. The researcher and his team took a group of hotel maids, most of whom did not think they were getting exercise at work, and divided them in two groups. One group of women was informed how many calories they burned doing different tasks at work and told that they actually led an active lifestyle, and the other group of women was told nothing.
One month after this intervention, the women who were told that their jobs were active had lost weight, lowered their waist-to-hip ratio, and had a 10 percent drop in blood pressure. The maids who were told nothing had no changes in these measurements. The researchers believe that the physical changes in the informed group were due to changes in the women's mind-sets — because they believed that their physical activity was doing their bodies good!
While you're exercising, remind yourself how many calories you're burning and of the good you are doing for your heart, your muscles, and your waistline. Think fit, and you'll be fit!
I have totally lost this idea during this challange. I know I always feel better when I tell myself that walking up the stairs at work is good for me, it motoviated me to continually take the stairs, and to complete my works out when I got home.
Note to self: New Montra: I LIKE TO MOVE AND WORK OUT!!!!!!!

I used to tell myself: I can do this. I will do this. I want to do this. It eventually became my truth, just as it can become yours.
I know I burn off fat at the gym...Because when I leave there are little puddles on the floor that dripped off of me! It aint all water!
Oh, please tell me that I'm burning off 50 pounds of fat typing at my job for 12 hours a day! I will remember your mantra and use it myself. Thanks for sharing this. Love the picture! Blessings, Jackie
