I Am

I'm a 34 year old Denver area resident with a lot of weight to lose and a lot of strength to gain. I am through sitting on the sidelines, watching everyone else doing the things I'd like to be enjoying, while I sit on the sidelines gaining weight. I am transforming my life, and I hope to inspire those around me to live more examined, fuller lives as well. I love walking/hiking in Colorado, exploring new places and spending way too much time with my plants and pets, especially the dogs. Someday "I hope to be the kind of person my dogs already think I am." :)

That Still Small Voice

I had a wonderful day today at Cave of the Winds, and did better than I thought I would at navigating things on the short tour. One of my new goals now is to go back there at the end of the challenge (weather permitting) and be in shape to do the more difficult, longer cave tour by lantern. Still, I...

Brutal Honesty

On July 21 I started the Challenge, and the first challenge within the challenge was finding someone to take my first pictures. Who could I call? I certainly didn't want to call most people, either because I'd told them, "I'm going to lose weight" so many times before or because I didn't w...

To me, Transformation Means

Transformation means making changes beyond the superficial. Anybody can have their fat sucked out through a tube, have plastic surgery up the yin-yang and "get the ideal body" on some shallow level. True transformation means addressing and reforming yourself on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level to be the best and only you! :)

My Goals

My current goal is to do a pull-up. Seriously, it sounds simplistic, and I have a lot of goals (weight loss, etc) but I've never been able to do a pull-up in my life...So the pull-up is representative of really starting to reach my potential.

My Intentions

I intend to do the MS Ride next summer, and get to the top of a Fourteener (probably Long's Peak).

Who I'd Like to Inspire

I want to inspire my parents to live healthier lives, and one of my co-workers/friends who is in the same sorry state where I found myself a few weeks ago. I hope that I can transform myself enough to inspire those around me in general as well.
