Transformation ~ Growing Up

1 Corinthians 13:11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. I am going to say something here that may offend your senses. But it may wake you up and bring you into a new reality about your life. Overeating is childish...Yes, I said it. If you overeat and don't take care of your body it is nothing more than a childish act of rebellion, and i...

Breathe Life into a Life~ Reach Out and Touch Someone

Genesis 2:7Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person. As we start our Transformations we need to be aware there are others around us that need our help. No, they won't usually ask for it very few will reach out. And they usually will just say "I'm OK" when you ask the obligitory question "how are ...

Are Low Fat Diets Good For You? NO!

I am of a firm belief that we have been sold a bill of goods by the Government and Food Producers. Doctors have fallen in the low fat diet trap and I will bet you have too. After all fat makes you fat doesn't it? Of course it does , but only if you are eating a high carb diet with it. If you eat a the vilified low carb diet, you will find yourself healthier, happier and cravings gone. But I am sure you won't buy it if I tell you that actual...

Trans Fats? What's the Big Deal?

Do you understands the dangers inherent in partially hydrogenated oils? Deadly, very deadly. Partially hydrogenated oils are nothing more than a FAKE fat created in laboratories for ease of use by food manufacturers. It is made and mixed into foods to stabilize them so they can be stored on the store shelf for longer times without going rancid.Partially hydrogenated oils are also known as trans fats. You know they are present when you revi...

Helping a Friend Pays Off

I have a co-worker friend at work that weighs over 350 pounds. He has tried and failed to lose weight so many times in his life. He failed because the cravings got the best of him after a couple of days. He had just given up. Until now... I gave him a copy of the diet I used to get off Insulin, because it works very well with overeaters and people who are having uncontrolled cravings. It's not very far off from EFL, just a few tweeks to keep...

Dusty's Assignment #3~Lowest Level Habit

Assignment #3 Worksheet: Transcending Unhealthy Habits  After careful consideration, I’ve become aware that my lowest level habit—the one which will most interfere with my future health and happiness is:  I am very negative at work. Especially at meetings. The air is already negative and I just go into it..  I now hold the intention of being freed from chains of my unhealthy habit. (If your answer...

Insulin Resistance~A Killer

Type II Diabetes usually comes on around the age of 40, but society is seeing kids as young as 12 now being diagnosed with the disease. It isn't a disease that just comes on. We are the culprits and the cause of the disease. We can't blame genes for Type II unless it's the learning gene of eating like a pig... The body, in response to carbohydrates has to inject insulin into the blood stream to clear the sugars and use them for energy. If yo...

Breaking Sugar Addiction

We all laugh about addictions when it comes to food. Chocolate addicts are nothing more than sugar addicts as chocolate that is edible is laced with sugar. We laugh and make jokes but in reality sugar is breaking down your body on a cellular level and you stay addicted becasue you also eat and drink high frutcose corn syrup and probably don't even realize it.A 2007 study done in France showed that sugar is 4 times as addictive as COCAINE! We can ...

Read, Listen, Learn and Teach

I am blessed to have wisdom. Not bragging here, it's just that I hae been around a long time and have been in a lot of tough situations in my life. Hard knocks bring hard lessons. I have been dragged down a lot of gravel roads...No, I haven't always been so wise, I was once dumber than a bag of hammers, because I would not listen. I did what I thought was best for me, even when very wise people were telling me I was NOT on the right track. I...

Dusty's Assignment #2~Right Spaces

This assignment was easy for me. I have been here at T.com since June of 2008. I started making my space back then. I had already pretty much changed my eating habits and the people I hung around with after losing over 100 pounds. I even married a woman that I KNEW would support me in my weight loss efforts. Susie, my wife is a carb addict. But she is fit and trim. I cannot eat like she does, so we share spaces in the refrigerator and p...

Confession of Failure...Does It Work?

The time has come, one week in the New Year and the new challenge that people will be starting to falter. They will feel miserable about themselves and some will leave T.com feeling like an utter failure. They might be back next year or the next challenge, but some will actually post their failures in blogs and in forums, telling us all how they chowed down on cake, candy and donuts. Boo hoo, I am a failure. They have just set themselves up for a...

The Invisiible Person

I spent many years invisible to society. When you weigh a lot like I did, around 400 pounds for me, you really become invisible to society. People ignore you and shun you. I have my ideas in why people ignore the serverly overweight. It is real, because i have seen it first hand...as a matter of fact Ii have been guilty of ignoring the severly overweight myself. For some reason it is natural to look the other way when we see the fat people of soc...

Are You Really Hungry? You Are Orexigenic

Are you always hungry? Can't seem to get the appetite under control? You try to control it but it seems to control you. You feel weak, helpless to change and you say to yourself..."I have failed again". You have heard of anorexia...It is a lack of hunger and even an eversion to eating altogether. I know sometimes you wish you could have that problem. Believe me you don't want it. A young woman in our Church is dying from it...We kn...

I Will Be HALF the Man I Used To Be in 2010

2010 will be my year. I spent 2009 getting in the best shape of my life. I am still a very big man, but compared to where I started (near or above 400 pounds) I am a shadow of who I once was.I don't really know my highest weight. I threw out thee scales when I was 374 pounds and I got bigger and bigger. I have no photos of when I was that big (I would love to have then for comaprison) and for the most part I was isolated and secluded from society...

I am Soooooooo Ready

I got my sciatic nerve problem fixed yesterday. It has been a weight on my shoulders for a long time. I won't realize the whole healing for a few more days and the doc said to lay off any training for a few days. That might be tough LOLI can now reintroduce my body to sqauts and deadlifts that have been missing from my training program for a long time. Theses are so inporatant as they raise a man's hormone levels to build solid muscle. If you are...

Tomorrow I have a minor surgery to finally end my scatica problem. It is a lumbar injection of steroids and other anti inflammatory drugs to relieve the pressure off of the nerve. I have been dealing with this for over a year and a half now.I am in a lot of pain as the doctor made me stop taking any kind of pain meds, including asprin for the last week as they want to minimize the internal bleeding.
