Oh Man...What have I Done?
I am making another huge commitment. It wasn't enough that I said I would run the Denver 1/2 Marathon. Nooooooooooooooooooooo.......I had to go and get excited about doing something else. At first it started out as a silly joke then I started thinking I could do something down the road later in life...You know by the time I turn 60 in about 6 years...Plenty of time to squirm out of any dream and change my mind.
But I did it. I made a joke about doing a bodybuilding contest and someone didn't laugh. That's the bad thing about jokes...when people think they aren't funny...you reflect on the joke and you start thinking about it a lot. (Just ask David Letterman) Yea the joke they didnt laugh at...The one about me doing a bodybuilding show was taken seriously by the Professional Bodybuilder that owns the gym where I train.... She has been in the Olympia and will be competing next year again. She not only said she knew I could do it, she encouraged me to make plans to train for one after Denver.... UH OH what did I step in???
So in 2 years (insert gulp here) I will be competeing in the Masters Division in the Blackgold Classic in Odessa Texas....In lesson 5 Bill talks about positive pressure...I think a dump truck full of pressure just fell on me. My knees got weak when i said I was going to do it and I am still shaking 2 days later...Heck now the Denver Marathon seems like a bump in the road...I know it isn't, I think I just put my brain on overload...
Maybe it's that I am thinking of all the training I have to do. Maybe it's the fact that I will have to pull off another 70 pounds or so. Maybe it's the iddy biddy speedo. I don't know. All I know is that right now it looks like a mountain that I have to climb...
The good news is that I told my wife and she didn't laugh...Wow miracles do happen. That's good because I will be looking for one...
So...here's your 2 year invitation. VIP seating is $35...It will be better than an episode of Jerry Springer...hehehe

That was a big dump truck of pressure. Good to see you keeping it real. Take care and best wishes, Dustin
Awesome! I think it's a great thing for you to make that jump. I also have complete faith and trust that Coach can help get you where you need to be on the eats. It's a big leap of faith man. Are you willing to completely trust and commit? Only you know. Big hugs and best of luck! You are going to have a blast!
I will help you get ready for your show Dusty if you need me. I know you have a trainer but I could help you with the eating part. You have to trust me and listen for 10 weeks but I will get you in great shape. Your inspiring...Coach
WOW! Great energy behind this post. Nothing's stopping you! Makes me think my boxing dream maybe just maybe isn't so silly- thanks- jennifer
2 years man?? You will be ready for that with no doubt!!! My Gosh- kidding yourself would be if you expected to do it in 2 months. Perfect plan is doing it in 2 years. You have lots of time to learn and pose and get that last bit of weight off. -plus your muscles are maturing already from the lifting you have been doing. It is great you have a long term goal -and one that is truly doable. man I thought you were going to do something really crazy like sign up for the ironman compettition!!! This is wonderful Dusty ,and one thing for sure - you will get all the support and advise you need right here at T-com.... Love you!! Wendy
