It's a real pleasure to welcome you here.  I know exactly where you're coming from.  That's something I can't always say!  I hope you decide to participate in the forums and start a blog.  I'm finding that it is very helpful and inspiring.  Did I say fun?  What branch of the Service?

I Am

I am a military veteran, served 10 years, however two years ago I decided after numerous tours to the middle east to leave the U.S. Military and practice being a civilian. For the first year this was not an easy task, adapting to civilian life was a little challenging. Since leaving the military I started gaining considerable weight, probably because I wasn't working out 6 days a week anymore after 10 years of doing so! With only two years as a civilian under my belt I gained over 60 lbs. of fat and began to notice that I was really slowing down! As a result, I have decided to join the BFL Challenge and declare a change to my lifestyle. I chose to join the BFL Challenge because I have watched since 1997, all of the lives changed by Bill Phillips program while he was with EAS. I actually had the pleasure of meeting a 1997 co-grand champion in AZ prior to him taking a flight aboard a U.S. Air Force KC-135; he was a real inspiration.

To me, Transformation Means

A complete change that takes place spiritually, mentally, and physically. As with most things, this change is not easy, it takes strong will, determination, and a unwavering commitment.

My Goals

I want to be in at least the same physical condition that I was in while serving in the U.S. Military if not better. While in the military my food intake was controlled, my workout requirements set, and my commitment mandatory. Now I am setting out to do the same, without the requirement set forth by my employer!

My Intentions

Since separating from the U.S. Military, I gained over 50 lbs in only 2 years. Many of the reasons for this was because I wanted to party, drink, and have a great time with my family. Please know that when I say party, I mean having some friends and / or family over, BBQ'n, having beer, and just hanging out. I wasn't much into the physical exertion any more.....I just wanted to hang out. So my intentions are now to lose the 50 lbs over the course of the next 12 weeks and return to a physical condition that I enjoy!

Who I'd Like to Inspire

This is a tough question for me, mainly because I have never sought out to inspire anybody.... I have always just been the guy that did his job, didn't want praise or recognition....probably why I was SF - we rarely get put on the media scene! However, in light of that I think I merely want to inspire everybody and anybody who is presently out of shape and needs something to show that it can be done and not only that, but that THEY CAN do it! I don't want this to stop there though... I want those who are in shape to be able to get into better shape too! I want to learn everything I can, to help those who feel as though they have hit a brick wall and don't feel as though they can have any further gains / losses.
