Is it January yet???

I am soooo ready for January!!  The Holidays were fun...but I am so glad to have them over and back to regular routines.   December & January are our longest coldest months here usually.  As I write this it is almost 9:30 am and it is just getting light outside.  It's 15 below with the temps dropping....this is a hard time of year for me to get moving in the morning!!  When it is this cold we are inside more...

Merry Christmas T Family!

I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas this morning.  If I had more time I'd swing by everyone's profiles this morning and write a few things.... but this T family of mine is just too big and to conquer that task would take me more than one morning!I hope everyone has a wonderful time with family & friends with some new special memories to hold dear to your heart! Merry Christmas!...

Busy!

This month is incredibly busy for me...I haven't been on T.com very much lately so I just wanted to quick write that I'll pop on here when I can and that if I don't respond or you don't hear from me...it's because I am busy and not because I'm ignoring anyone!  We're having a very busy, fun filled December and I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays too!  ...

Taking the good

Last week when I ended my 18 week challenge and took my measurements I couldn't believe my progress.  I thought for sure the measurements were wrong.  I started out at 18.7% BF and my goal was 16% BF.   My measurements ended up being 14.1%BF.  I even had Jeremy measure me without looking at the measurements taken before to see if they were accurate.  They were.  I thought my abs would be popping out more at...

Morning Moose

Calf moose walking by our house a little after 8am.Mama moose peeking in our window….checking us out and Ginger checking her out! Little blurry with the reflection off my previously very clean windows.  Just Monday had all my windows professionally cleaned…now getting broken in again with kid finger prints, dog nose prints and moose licks....

Feel 1000 times better!

I just had a really good run on my treadmill.  I cranked the incline and really got a good burn.  Boy did I NEED it!  Sunday was my free day and I "might" have sneaked just a "little" too many Snicker bars from my kids Halloween candy cache.  Then Monday(confession) I skipped my workout.  I didn't plan right and was too tired by the end of the day.  Not a good excuse (I know!) but I was ...

Arrow of Light

Last night Hunter had his Arrow of Light Ceremony.  He crossed over to being a Boy Scout with his older brother Tanner.   The Arrow of Light Badge for Cub Scouts is the highest award a Cub Scout can get.  Similar to the Boy Scout reaching Eagle rank.  When we started scouts 6 years ago I had no idea the impact scouting would make on my boys lives and ...

I Know Better!!

We all know how there are some people who can walk into a room and suck the happiness out of it by their presence or negativity.Last week here I am in a fantastic mood....waiting with some other moms to pick up my daughter from her Brownie Meeting.  When a mom I know came up to me and said to me,"If you lose any more weight I am going to be mad at you!"  She then demanded to know how much weight I had lost and w...

Today's Run...

2.5 miles....that was my goal....Could have been a little more...could have been a little less....My treadmill is having issues.  Should say having issues since this winter.  Jeremy can't even use it for more than 5 minutes without it shutting down on him.  Usually I can get through a whole 20 minutes with no problems (guess I'm lighter!) and since he usually runs outside it hasn't been an issue to get fixed.  I act...

Inspired to run

Okay all of you runners and marathoners...you got me!  Tuesday I told myself I would run 2 miles.  Mission accomplished.  Today I told myself I would run 2 1/4 miles.  At 1 3/4 miles I started talking myself out of it.  I told myself 2 would be good enough.  Why did I have to push myself 1/4 extra mile anyway?  What did I have to prove?  And to who?  Just as I was sure I was going to be done at 2 ...

I choose to!

Not only I choose to but I get to!  Last night I had a friend ask me if I ever wanted to do something with my life.  I told her, "I am doing something with my life!" But she didn't see it that way.  She was thinking careers and working.   Everything I am doing in my life was from my choice!  I chose to be married.  I chose to have kids and be a mother.  I chose to stay home wit...

Today might be a free day for me....

I'm taking my daughter to the Alaska State Fair today....we went last weekend and I ate pretty healthy.  I had a Jamaica Jerk Taco that was in a flour tortilla, stuffed with rice and heavenly goodies then took a bite here and there of a cream puff & icecream cone from my kids...Today I am giving myself permission to indulge just a little.    Today is going to be a fun day just me and my girl!  We are going t...

Intentions

Last night during the asanas in yoga class the instructor told us this would be a good time to make intentions for ourselves.  She explained an intention was not a goal but an intent to be or do something.  To be kinder, more compassionate, more understanding etc....focusing on an intention....acting on the intention...is transformation to a better state and better you.  When she said transformation...it just all clicked. ...

Yoga

I started Yoga this past week and absolutely LOVE it.  It is sooooo much better than doing yoga with a book or DVD.  It is a much better experience.  I loved the class it was so relaxing & calming and I felt like I really got a good workout for some of my muscles.  I hope to take a class 1-2 times a week.  Mission started on reaching one of my goals I set for myself on assignment #5....Yoga!!  I'm excited to have...

Progress Part 2

My last post I did was my recent progress.  Recent physical progress that is.  This is what is easy for us all to share...pictures to document progress.  I have made huge strides internally that is difficult to put into words and to share.  Pictures don't show how the heart or mind has changed.  Actions do.  I've reached out to others I wouldn't have normally reached out to sharing myself, offering an ...

What a day!

This morning my son Hunter had a baseball playoff game at 8am.  This meant being there at 7:15 for warm ups and our family being up at 6 am.  So not our schedule!  His team won which meant he had another playoff game at 2pm.  In between games my husband split off with the boys to get them fitted for their football gear and my daughter and I ran home to let the dogs out.  We got home and I realized I didn't have the house ...

Milestone

Tomorrow I will reach my 6 month milestone since I began my transformation journey. 6 months of working out & eating healthy.  Old habits broken.  New habits made.  A much better way of life.  I have made significant progress since January but I still have goals to achieve physically and spiritually.  I truly think my transformation will be something that just keeps going with me.  I will find new ways ...

Lion Hug

My good friend sent me this video this to me this morning!  It really got me!! I'm usually not that emotional and usually can hold back my tears pretty good...but this totally touched me this morning.  Maybe it was because of Aerosmith's song from Armageddeon.  I always cry watching that movie!  Anyways...hope you enjoy this little video.  (It's only a few minutes long)  It is SO sweet and warms the he...

Good Dilemma

I am in need of clothes!!  Good dilemma right??    About 80% of my closet I cannot wear.  I am having a hard time getting rid of some of my favorite clothes but I will because I can no longer wear them and hopefully someone else can get some use out of them.A month and a half ago I celebrated my physical milestones and bought new outfits.  Not too many because I hadn't reached my goals yet.  Well...they will need to ...

Goals

Today I came across some folded yellow pieces of paper.  I opened them up and couldn’t help not to smile.  Both my boys each wrote out their goals back in April.  It was something they did for scouts and a very good exercise.  My 9yr old son Hunter’s goals:I want my dog to lose 7 lbs of fat in one month. (Just shows the kids do listen to what we talk about around here!)I want to hit a homerun on my first baseball g...

What defines ME

Jaki's blog post fit me perfectly this morning.  I started to comment on her blog but it started to get too long so I decided to write my own post.  Who I am has been something I had struggled with for quite awhile.... What defines ME?  Yes... I am a mother and a wife.  But what else am I or will I be?  Will all I ever have are those titles to describe me ...which is PLENTY and...

Monday

Yea!  A start to a new week!  Here's my catch up post....My boys got back from their long canoe trip.  They had a blast!  They didn't see bears or any sign of them.  Fishing was very slow and the Kings (King Salmon) weren't in.  Probably why they didn't see any bears.  Two nights before they came home they had a huge surprise.  The troop leader and another Dad flew over their campsite and air dropped a...

3 Little Words

Three little words that have made such a huge impact on me.  I GET TO. Three little words from one amazing girl.  I never had the privilage to meet Jonnae but she deeply touched me.  Her three little words and incredible strength, faith, selflessness & love will continue to inspire and motivate me. Three little words that changed my perspective.  Instead of complaining to myself I HAVE to...

Out of my groove

This past week is when I totally got out of my groove.  What I thought were allergies actually turned out to be a nasty cold.  First cold or any sickness I've had all year.  I've been incredibly healthy this past year which AMAZES me.  With 3 kids we have had colds go through the family this winter that I didn't get.  I ate good all week, got my weight training days in but my cardio didn't happen. ...

West Butte Hike

Yesterday I took the kids for our first hike of the summer.  It is my goal to do a hike at least once a week with my kids.  It's one of our favorite hikes and a great one to start out the summer with.  It was a good climb up and I could really feel my legs burn. It's such an awesome feeling to get to the top and take in all the beauty. It makes me feel so small in this world!!!   Have a fantastic day e...

Garden

My garden got done this weekend.  It was a huge project but the whole family worked together and we got it done.  It was a ton of work but it was also a great time to be with each other.  The kids worked and played.  My daughter Haley made some fabulous mud pies.  One she really liked and named, "Sloppy" and took everywhere with her.  There was a lot to do to make the garden.  Rocks, sticks & ...

Be the Example

Last night my son Hunter had a baseball game and we had to witness this Dad yelling at his son.  Same Dad we witnessed last year.  It's  heart breaking to watch because he humiliates this poor boy.  He threatened to pull the boy out of the game if he made another mistake.  He threatened laps and he pointed out every single mistake his son made but not once said ONE thing positive.  I could see this boy's sp...

Kicking it up a notch

This week I decided I am going to kick it up a notch.  Even though I have been having great results I decided that I'm going to make a few small changes for myself.  First off I am going to try to get my workouts in first thing every morning.  I haven't done too many workouts first thing in the morning because our exercise room is across from my son's bedroom.  I haven't wanted to wake him up.   This mornin...

A Different Kind of Challenge

A few days ago Denise posted on the forums about a Different Kind of Challenge.  I can't help it I have to challenge myself when I work out.  When I do my 12 reps and I feel, I know there is more in me to give I push on to 13, 14 or 15.   When I run at my high point for one minute I will sometimes push on for more.  It's like I have this little voice in my head asking me if I can do it.  And I answer back b...
