Week 2

Week 2 went great for me in Hawaii.  I was disappointed to discover there was not a fitness center like the website had said for the condominium we were staying in.  However I got 20-30 minutes running some mornings with my hubby and we did TONS of walking.  It was a little over a mile to the beach and we went to the beach sometimes twice a day with the kids...so just that alone was over 4 miles of walking....then lots of...

I officially started my challenge February 8th.   I have been living a very healthy lifestyle since January '08 when I started my first Transformation challenge.  At age 39 I would say I am probably the healthiest & happiest that I have ever been.  I wanted to do another challenge because I would like to continue to push myself physically, internally & spiritually....I want  to push myself for higher goa...

Catching up....

I've been absolutely horrible about keeping up here at T.com but I have kept up with transformation.... :)  And I've kept up with a few of you here who e-mail me or comment on my profile...but that has been about the extent of it.  So my appologies to anyone who feels like I have completely ignored them.   I have found myself incredibly busy with life and a family and sometimes there just doesn't seem to be enough time.  ...

Whoa is Knee

My running has suddenly come to a halt.  A few weeks ago right after my last  blog post on my "fantastic" run I ended up with shin splints.  I thought I would take it easy before I ran again.  I took a week and a half off of running then decided to try running on the treadmill.  By the end of 20 minutes my knee started to swell.  I could actually feel it getting swollen and so I stopped running.  It's ...

My absolutely FANTASTIC run this morning!

I did it this morning.  I broke out of my routine.  I broke out of my lame excuses of it being cold and having snow on the road.   I woke up to a beautiful sunny Alaskan morning.  Blue skies...clear...crisp.  Cold.  30 degrees and I just decided I am not going to run on the treadmill today.  My treadmill is frustrating anwyay...(read last post) and it is easier for running.  My recent research I have d...

I Love/Hate my treadmill!

Today I was picturing that commercial where people are flinging appliances out of their windows out of pure frustration.  If I could have picked up my treadmill and launched it I swear I would have.  It is so tempermental and so frustrating when it quits on me.   Some days it will run *perfectly* my whole run.  Other days it quits 2, 3, 4 times on me.  It really needs to be fixed or replaced.  But despite t...

Lessons I learned this week

Nothing like getting the Flu to put some things into perspective.  Wednesday night I was up all night long with my daughter very sick.  Since she had a different dinner than everyone else I wasn't sure if it was something she ate or if she had a flu bug.  For Friday both the boys were invited to different friend's houses to spend the night.  I didn't want to send them just in case it was the flu.  But the boys and my...

First Things First

Last October at the RCC I got to hear Wyatt Woodsmall speak.  He is a very fascinating man with great insight of people and human nature.  One thing that he said stuck with me and often goes through my head. "First things first, second things not at all."  Some days are busier than other days for me.  When I start to feel busy and a little overwhelmed I immediately think what is my first thing.  Usuall...

Power of Focus

I am reminded over and over how powerful my thoughts can be.  When I focus on something I usually start seeing things that relate to it.  When I am positive, positive things are happening for me.  When I am negative…you guessed it negative things.   Last night was a perfectly good example.  On my truck the rear tail light got cracked when getting firewood recently.  For a temporary fix there is red t...

Lead and they will follow

Being the only one 100% committed to transformation in a family of 5 can be a little challenging.  My family for the most part eats very healthy but I can't expect them to follow how I eat all the time.  All I can do is lead and be an example. The other day grocery shopping with the kids I noticed items accumulating in the cart that absolutely horrified me.  I would practically die if I ran into someone from T.com and they saw the s...

January 10th, 2009

Over the last year I have discovered that I can do things that I never thought I could ever do.  I learned that I can set goals for myself and accomplish them.  I also learned that I can push myself to limits and past limits I never thought I could do before.I like to set mini goals for myself and challenge myself.  Today on the treadmill I thought I would try and do 2 miles in 20 minutes.  Well I didn't have the oomph in me t...

Is it January yet???

I am soooo ready for January!!  The Holidays were fun...but I am so glad to have them over and back to regular routines.   December & January are our longest coldest months here usually.  As I write this it is almost 9:30 am and it is just getting light outside.  It's 15 below with the temps dropping....this is a hard time of year for me to get moving in the morning!!  When it is this cold we are inside more...

Merry Christmas T Family!

I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas this morning.  If I had more time I'd swing by everyone's profiles this morning and write a few things.... but this T family of mine is just too big and to conquer that task would take me more than one morning!I hope everyone has a wonderful time with family & friends with some new special memories to hold dear to your heart! Merry Christmas!...

Busy!

This month is incredibly busy for me...I haven't been on T.com very much lately so I just wanted to quick write that I'll pop on here when I can and that if I don't respond or you don't hear from me...it's because I am busy and not because I'm ignoring anyone!  We're having a very busy, fun filled December and I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays too!  ...

Taking the good

Last week when I ended my 18 week challenge and took my measurements I couldn't believe my progress.  I thought for sure the measurements were wrong.  I started out at 18.7% BF and my goal was 16% BF.   My measurements ended up being 14.1%BF.  I even had Jeremy measure me without looking at the measurements taken before to see if they were accurate.  They were.  I thought my abs would be popping out more at...

Morning Moose

Calf moose walking by our house a little after 8am.Mama moose peeking in our window….checking us out and Ginger checking her out! Little blurry with the reflection off my previously very clean windows.  Just Monday had all my windows professionally cleaned…now getting broken in again with kid finger prints, dog nose prints and moose licks....

Feel 1000 times better!

I just had a really good run on my treadmill.  I cranked the incline and really got a good burn.  Boy did I NEED it!  Sunday was my free day and I "might" have sneaked just a "little" too many Snicker bars from my kids Halloween candy cache.  Then Monday(confession) I skipped my workout.  I didn't plan right and was too tired by the end of the day.  Not a good excuse (I know!) but I was ...
