Day 50

Great leg work out today...I squatted 285 6 times.  Ugh! I feel it now just before bed.  We had a little fire today, nothing serious, but I was on the roof in full bunkers in 90 degree weather.  I was tired when all was said and done, but I still got a good leg workout in.  Abs a...

Hello Jon, Thanks for stopping by my blog and posting! You sound just like me with the way you wrote your profile. I have two kids too with a 12 year old son name Blake who is 5 foot 9 and weigh 159 lbs. already. I have a girl name Grace who is 9 and is 4 foot 9 and weighs 90 lbs. and they are both blond so I have to get in shape for my daughter's sake to fight off the boys in the future! HA! And to show my growing son that I'm the big man and always will be ! HA! They both are into sports with football being number one for Blake and cheerleading for Grace in football! They are great kids and that is one of the reasons I'm doing this transformation too is to keep in shape to keep up with them but also to be an influence on their eating habits and exercise in their future or for their future! Enough about me! I really think both of you are going to rock this transformation site with the new and improved Jon and Kirsty! You both are going to do great doing it together too! Thanks John!

Sounds like the addition of more calories was just what you needed Jon:) Keep up the tough work and inspire all those around you. Your goals and those you'd love to inspire, is quite inspiring in itself. Awesome !! Wishing both you and Kirsty the best of luck with this challenge. ~Tracy

Hey Jon, 1/2 Canadian eh! That definately counts. I haven't hit the pool yet, I've been doing low impact cardio like eliptical trainer and stationary bike until my hamstring heals up. So far so good! Great goals man, if I can help you let me know. Bob

I Am

...a work in progress. The person I want to become is not exactly who I am now. I want to have more energy to be able to play with my family. I want to be an inspiration to my family, friends, and co-workers. I have loose muscles, but I am unflexible. I am a big guy, but I'm not strong. I am intelligent, but unmotivated. I can be so much more than I am currently. That is why I am here.

My Favorite Charity

Not necessarily to get on Bill's god side, but, Make-a-Wish is my favorite charity.

To me, Transformation Means

noun-

1.the act or process of transforming.
2.the state of being transformed.
3.change in form, appearance, nature, or character.

Change in form, appearance, nature, and character is what best describes transformation to me.

My Goals

1. I will lose 60 pounds of fat.
2. I will gain 20 pounds muscle.
(I currently weigh 265 at 30% BF)
3. I will finish 18 weeks with no excuses
4. I will see my abs
5. I will be an inspiration to my boys (6 & 9) through actions, not lecture
6. I will do 10 pull ups
7. I will support my wife 110%
8. I will clear my head of the cobwebs and negative self talk
9. I will no longer joke about my weight
10.I will no longer be "the fat guy"
11.I will fit into my college jeans...and look good

My Intentions

Honestly, my intention is to take care of me first and support my BFF, my wife. If I can get myself through this, I can get through anything. In the future, I would love to have a story that is inspirational to just one person. If I can touch one person and motivate them to have a better life, then I've done my job. Obviously, I'd love to motivate as many people as possible. But, I'll save that story for another day.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Family, friends, coworkers, people I come across while at work (I'm a firefighter), the girl working at McD's, the customer at McD's, the guy buying the bottle of booze, the gal buying the box of cupcakes...

Anyone who is not where they want to be, even those who don't know there is an alternative to where they are currently at.
