I Am

I am a thirty year old, strong, traumatic brain injury survivor. On December 13th, 1997 my life was stolen from me during a brutal motorcycle accident that left me in a coma. Upon waking, I could not walk, talk, or take care of myself. After years of rehabilitation and support from family and friends, I am blessed to have a second chance at life. I regained much of my mental and physical abilities through working out and weight lifting. I went from 123lbs post accident to 215lbs of lean muscle two years later. Almost 11 years have past, and I find myself looking in the mirror and not liking what I see. Here is a man who has lost his smile and confidence. My body is covered in scars, but it is the scars in my brain that no one sees. They keep me from moving forward in my life. I want to be able to hold a conversation with my wife and others and share understanding that comes so easily to everyone else. I want to be able to read a story book to my children that I will have someday. I want to go forward in my life, proud yet thankful for who I am and what I will become. My wife helped me write this so you all could understand me. :)

To me, Transformation Means

To me, transformation means shedding the fat that I have and building lean muscle. Not only will I change my physical appearance, but I aim to transform my character. I will rebuild my inner strength with patience, honesty, and integrity.

My Goals

I will incinerate 10lbs of flubber and sculpt 15lbs of eye popping muscle in 12 weeks! I will earn my Advanced Open Water Scuba certification in 12 weeks. I will stop snapping at people that do not understand me, and I will be more patient. Lying, even false truths, have helped me escape confrontation and conflict in my life. I will face confrontation, be it with my work, family or friends, with firm honesty. I will dedicate 30mins each evening before bed to reading The Hatchet, which is a book that I have been trying to read for the past year. My wife helped me write this so you all could understand me. :)

My Intentions

I intend to dedicate my entire body and mind to completing this transformation challenge. I will revist my goals every day to remind myself of who I am and who I want to become.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

I aim to inspire my best friend Matt. Through all of my accidents, he has been a constant friend and comrade in my life.
