Kathryn, Thanks so much for the 'sock' advice. I wore last night and combined with stretching, antiinflammatories, ice etc. - all the things you sugggested, my achilles is less sore this morning . . . I shall persevere and I have a new goal. I Am

I am a proud and dedicated mom and wife to a wonderful family. I am also a sister, a daughter and a friend. I was welcomed into Transformation.com in March of 2010. I was very physically active as a child and into college. Staying fit was "easy" because I was active and didn't have to think about what I ate. I began putting on weight in my late 20's when I had my first desk job. In the following 10 years, I found myself slowly adding weight until I found myself unhealthy! In the past ten years, I was also blessed with the birth of my two children. I gained 50 pounds with each pregnancy! I am realizing, as I approach 40 and am raising two great kids, that now is the time to really bring healthy choices into my life.

To me, Transformation Means

having the courage and self-respect to make changes that improve my overall health!

My Goals

1) Train for and complete the Surf City half-marathon on February 6, 2011 with my sister and sister-in-law. This will be my second "first half marathon", as my Denver half marathon finish line was the ER! I would love to cross the REAL finish line this time! *****WIN******
2) Make healthy eating and exercise a HABIT!
3) Gain control over my use of time.
4) Improve my attitude and outlook.

My Intentions

I intend to give my Transformation the attention it deserves! I admit to pushing important things down on my priority list. Unfortunately, I have spent many years feeling consumed by the little things and "put off" planning and goal setting. Through the Transformation process, I have already learned the importance of these things!

Who I'd Like to Inspire

I want to inspire my family and friends. My children are 6 and 8 and mean the world to me. I want to be an example of health and happiness for them! I hope that they can learn to make healthy choices in their youth, so they never need to experience the pain of health problems related to weight and inactivity.
