SERVING

I so totally have always felt the power of giving. My husband and  I were in a serious car accident 8 years ago that should have taken both our lives.  We T boned a semi.  I have always been taught in my church to serve others and by serving we become truely happy, that is what Christ did.  When this happened to me, my 6 children were placed in 3 different homes of my friends and my children's friends.  My best friend took my 6 children into her home all weekend so that my children could be together, she had 9 children of her own.  I can never repay back to these families or the countless others that physically brought food into my home for 6 months, while my husband and I recouperated.  When you gave me the original challenge last Nov.  I was already motivated to lose weight, but $ always brings attention.  When I started reading your books, I had a hard time putting them down.  They spoke to me of all the cycles of losing and gaining weight that I've played with my entire life.  Now, I'm into a size 2, I look and feel better than ever before and since the beginning of it, I couldn't stop talking about your great plan of eating and exercising and feeling great.  I have since reached out to friends at church.  I challenged the entire staff at the school I work.  My students have been watching me since I started and I've had 2 students that come up to me and asked how to do the diet.  I want you to come visit these awesome people.  I've challenged the district/county to get you to come to our county wide teacher inservice.  I'd also love it if you could visit the students too.  Wouldn't it be awesome if we could put the teachers against the students in a BFL challenge!  I will never be the same.  Other teachers that didn't join my first BFL school challenge are asking when the next one is.  LOOK WHAT YOU'VE STARTED.  THANK YOU!!!! kennie

Wow . . . this blog brought tears to my eyes . . . obesity is such a problem for children, schools, homes and the adult population. Part of the solution has already started by your success and inspiring your fellow teachers and the students that look to you as a role model. What a great idea to have a Teacher/Student BFL competition. You're wonderful. Keep doing God's work! Steve
