Hi Leiana...I started back to Body Pump again after not doing it for quite some time. I really do love that class and prefer doing it for the resistance training. It reminded me of you... being back in the class...wondered if you are still teaching and staying connected here. Miss seeing you around the site!!!~~~~Susan

Howdy Leiana! I just wanted to check back in with people that I haven't heard from in awhile. I hope you're doing well. You wouldn't recognize me in the gym anymore. I'm proud to say tthat I've transformed past the shy girl that followed you around that very first Chicago get together. I still have quite aways to go before I reach my goal, but I'm well on the way of the path you showed me. Thanks. Hope you're having a great day! - Melissa :)

There's a Chicago gathering???? Fill me in on the details!!!

Hey there! It's been forever!!! Thanks for the comment on my profile about being "brave" enough to take the "girly" class. That class kicked my butt!!! :D last year I moved my family to the west coast for a change of pace and to see about opening up some new territory for my company. Did pretty well and closed some big accounts, and then this spring the company asked me to come back to Illinois and manage sales operations for Northeastern IL and S. Eastern WI, plus they gave me a nice raise. God is blessing us! I also was just handed 2 more counties in the Chicago area, so now I manage some of the most populated areas of IL. Excited for what the future holds. I'll be active on T.com now for good I think.

I love and miss you!!!!!! Here's the quote of the day: "I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit." Dawna Markova

Have a beautiful Wednesday!! Here's a sweet prayer: "A Candle in My Heart", Prayer of An African Schoolgirl: "Oh thou Great Chief, Light a candle in my heart, That I may see what is therein, And sweep the rubbish from thy dwelling place." I LOVE AND MISS YOU, SWEET LEIANA!!! :)

Hi Leiana, a friend here told me that there was another BodyPump instructor in the community. Good luck with everything. Your students are lucky to have an instructor with so much knowledge and experience. - Steve

I Am

I have followed BFL for over three years now. Does that make me a veteran yet? :) I am one who has endured many trials, many losses. But then again, who hasn't? Each of us has a story. Each one of us has had times of despair. Each one of us has had the opportunity--the choice-- to either learn and grow from the hard times or wallow in self pity. I have learned that the greatest lessons in life are learned not when things are grand--they are learned when things are at their worst. The trials and tribulations have only made me realize more fully how much I need to rely on the Creator. I believe with all my heart that God has a plan and a purpose for each and every one of us, but it's up to us to be still and silent long enough to really listen to what His plan is. I've learned to put God first above all else and trust that the rest will follow. I've learned to appreciate the simple things in life and understand that sometimes hitting bottom is what is necessary before one can see what REALLY matters in this life. Today I am a fitness instructor and personal trainer--a far cry from the woman who was so fearful and shy that she rarely left the house. I have the opportunity to educate and motivate hundreds of people a week through my classes. I feel like I am finally on the path that the good Lord has set before me. Sure, it took 47 years...but better late than never! .

To me, Transformation Means

Changing from the inside out. Anybody can diet, but in order to sustain long term results, one must change their whole way of thinking, not only about food and exercise but life in general. The best way to transform, as I see it, is to "get your delight right" and everything else will follow. Focus first on God, stop trying to control every minute detail, don't sweat the small stuff, count your blessings, stay humble and simple.

My Goals

My personal fitness goals are to maintain a body fat percentage of 16% or lower, stay a size 0-2, and gain more flexibility. More importantly, I want to continue to grow in my faith and in my relationship with my husband. I want to inspire others and help them to realize that it's never too late to begin a healthier lifestyle and not to "settle" for mediocrity in middle age.

My Intentions

My intentions are to lead by humble example, to always have a kind word and a smile, and to try to change people's misconceptions about diet and exercise--one person at a time.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Most of all I'd like to inspire my daughter, Courtney, who has so many sensational qualities but cannot see them herself. I'd like to inspire the people who attend my classes, particularly those who are middle age and older. I want people, especially frazzled mothers, to realize that their health is important, that taking the time to exercise and eat right is not being selfish. Modeling good eating and exercise habits and making time for themselves is one of the best lessons a mother can teach her children.
