People chatting with me had been asking about my vision and exactly what the condition is etc... On the outside I look fine, and I guess they didn't really understand what I was getting at about visual impairment - because unless you have a guide dog or walking cane, then you're just having a whinge...

Just Do It

Well I'm off and running (literally!). I've shocked myself... The sun shone (close to Spring) and it was a beautiful morning so I went for a 5.5km walk/run. Today the entire FAMILY went out on our bikes for a 45 minute ride (we haven't done this in more than 3 years!). I'm still not that comfortable...

Sounds like you all have been through a LOT . . . you've certainly come to the right place to improve and make a change. The thing SO SPECIAL about what Bill is doing with BE THE CHANGE is that it's about body, mind & soul. If you do the work as outlined, you'll be working on aspects of yourself that you thought were buried. Here is a link.to one of the Transformation stories of a young woman who found she was going blind - http://www.transformation.com/viewVideo.php?fileID=55 VERY INSPIRATIONAL. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to be of assistance - with Love - Terrie

Welcome Lisa :<) - Wishing you the best on your transformation journey here. Congratulations on getting your husband to quit smoking cold turkey - I did the same 7 years ago now. Sorry to hear of the tragedy in losing his brother - I too would be devestated to lose one on my brothers. Live strong for yourself and to inspire your family and loved ones, Paul.

Awesome profile. I believe that through transformation a lot will change for the better for your family. Hopefully your husband will get involved with you. Dealing with the loss of a family member is so difficult and people can get lost in emotions....help him find himself again...through your example. I love your strength and conviction. You will do great things because you believe...you want. I am here for you, an entire community is here for you....you are not alone! I wish you and yours all the best.

I Am

I am a mother to two beautiful little girls, and I'm also a wife. I like to write and I'm an artist, recently setting up my own website to display my work. I've been working on every other aspect of my life recently and finally I'm getting my priorities correct, to work on ME - my health and fitness. I suffered a rare illness a few years ago and it took some of my vision. My immune system took a pounding also. Since then I've been attempting to get some 'normality' back into my life. I'd dearly love to be able to run freely, enjoying that lightness with the wind in my hair again... without losing my balance and falling over due to the vision :| I believe this is possible once I strengthen my muscles. I'm hoping to become closer with my husband, and we'll exercise as a family. We've been through a lot, and I 'lost' him in a way when his brother was killed tragically a few months back. Onward and upward is my philosophy. It is important for us to be here for each other, and our girls. Health is the number 1 priority, and to be good role models for them. I helped my husband quit smoking 'cold turkey' and it's been ages now! I'm really proud. I'm really looking forward to things turning around for the better.

My Favorite Charity

To me, Transformation Means

Balancing the internal with the external... for our external reality is simply a mirror of our current thoughts, feelings and emotions.... The same analogy can be given for nutrition and exercise for the internal and external realities. Transformation on all levels equates as harmony.

My Goals

Fat loss, gain lean muscle mass. Run again. Fix up my health and hopefully my vision. If I won I'd be able to have an operation to repair some of the damage, so that is a very big incentive.

My Intentions

To DO this.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My husband, my girls (to see food in a positive way instead of what makes you fat...) and hopefully my mother.
