Understanding Carbs

Will banishing carbohydrate – rich foods like...bread, potatoes, and pasta help you to loose weight and keep it off? Proponents to low – carb diets think so and encourage people to replace all carbs with animal protein and fat. However, the low carb diets do not address the real issue when it comes to a healthy body: the quality of the carbohydrates that you choose. Carbohydrates are an essential part of a balanced, healthful diet. ...

This culture that Bill is nurturing includes everyone involved here at Transformation.com. I am witnessing it’s beauty everyday more and more. Moving from a “me” experience to a “we” experience, or a “me” mentality to  “we” mentality is perhaps one of the most challenging and difficult aspects of our Change. Thermogenesis is...

A gift!  Thermogenesis is the process by which the body generates heat, or energy, by increasing the metabolic rate above normal. This rise in metabolic rate is referred to as the thermogenic effect, thermogenic response, or specific dynamic action (SDA). Thermogenesis is activated by a few different mechanisms, including supplements, nutrition, exercise, and exposure to cold.   Among the nutritional activators, the various mac...

To me, Transformation means

When you can say, "You know, it was all fun but... I couldn't wait to get back to clean eating and working out again!" True transformation is reaching that point where what used to be "normal" - eating poorly and sitting on the couch - suddenly feels unnatural. When you realize that the things you used to dread the most (eating right and exercising) become the things you can't imagine living without, you’ve made a true t...

Having a destination, a flight plan and a compass.   Your destination will be unique to you. It is very important that you do not compare yourself with anyone else. A lesson in humility.

It can be a wonderful gift.   Teaching humility as a father will demand more of you and is tricky. Humility doesn’t make sense unless it is modeled. If you want your daughter to love reading, you must read. If you want her to be athletic, go for a run. The same is true with humility. If you live it, she will get it. Remember, she is a dry sponge following you around, waiting to see what you think, feel, and do.   Humility is...

There is no better judge, than when we judge ourselves.

Bill say’s… “One of the most powerful ways to accelerate your transformation is by setting a strict deadline for when you’ll achieve certain results. And, to add even more fuel to the fire, it helps to have both a prize and penalty. This is one of the reasons that the Challenge model I started back in the 90’s has worked so well for so many over the years – it requires a certain amount of work to be done wi...

You are a Winner!

If you are reading this right now, then you are a Winner! That fact that we are all here together means we have something in common. We are human. We care deeply about one another. And we have a strong interest in growing ourselves in different ways. I just wanted to remind you how great you are! The fundamentals are probably the most important thing to me today. Remembering my goals, and being thankful for the opportunity t...

Recognition

My daughter is on the front page of our local weekly newspaper. She had a soccer game the other day and unfortunately her team lost. As we walked back to the car, she was beating herself up because she thought she could have done better. (we all have been there!) Anyway, I suggested to shake it off and move on. Well the next day was a half day of school and I needed to pick her up around 11:30. I stopped first at the supermarket to get a few thin...

How can I contribute?

What is very important to me in this transformation is to increase my ability to contribute something or some how. I want to be healthy and make a difference in the lives of the people around me.   Bill say’s … “No matter what your transformation goal -- whether your aim is to successfully complete a Body-for-LIFE program or simply let go of some unhealthy body fat or if, like me, you're training for an endurance even...

What do you pay attention to?

If someone asks you a question…it is human to focus on an answer quickly in your head. But all of a sudden someone else asks you a question, and someone else…and so on. What determines how we feel? I believe it is how we are directing our state of mind. Our journey to True Self

Two types of self are commonly considered - the self that is the ego, also called the learned, superficial self of mind and body, an egoic creation, and the self which is sometimes called the "True Self".
