Assignment #3
I was driving the other day in my truck with my daughter who is 14. My son was riding his bike to summer camp down the road, so I was alone with my daughter. Her name is Sabrina, for those who are interested. So I asked her “Are you excited about summer vacation”? She said, with a young teenage attitude “No, not really”. I was surprised with the response and replied with a “Why”? She said: “Dad, it’s because the school year is over and I move up to 10th grade. Things are changing and I do not want to get any older. I do not want things to change. I want everything to stay just like they are.” I smiled, took a second to think about where she is coming from, and then said…
“Change is a constant, and always will be during our life. Your grandparents grew older and lived wonderful lives. I am getting older, and learning how to make the best of my journey. Now you have the opportunity to Feed Your Change. You are in charge, much more than you may think.”
I could have said more, but all in good time.
Every day billions of cells in our body wear out and need to be replaced. For example, the entire cellular lining of our gut is replaced every seventy-two hours. In order to maintain this continuous turnover of cells, our body needs to expend a significant amount of energy. To produce this energy and development, we must ingest and assimilate material, usually of plant or animal origin, which contains or consists of essential body nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. By doing this we “Get To” maintain our life and stimulate our growth.
RIGHT FOODS, RIGHT AMOUNTS, RIGHT COMBO'S, RIGHT TIMES is assignment #3. But there is something that I am learning that is the glue that makes it all work. Positive thoughts have a profound effect on the behavior of my body when it is in harmony with my subconscious. When I eat now, I believe and envision the trillions of cells through out my body, creating new healthy lives. J

Right on man, you and I have more in common than you probably know: I've got a couple of teenagers that are 14, 15; one's headed for his sophomore year and the other is just starting HS, both are boys so I really related to your blog today. I've got my sophomore with exactly the same attitude toward change, he doesn't want to get older, to me it seems kinda' strange since all I ever wanted to do was get older until I actually got older :D You and I also have the same thought process regarding how our bodies assimilate and process it all toward keeping us healthy, truly amazing and points toward an awesome designer and creator. Great blog man, maybe I'll see you in Denver this Oct..
How nice you were able to share such an important conversation with your teenage daughter. Cherish those moments! It is nice to be tuned in to change and have the ability to share its positive with the people we love! BJ
