The Truth - No Smoke Here - KISS
Recently I came down with a sever cold and it kept me from working out and basically doing nothing for two weeks. Finally I started working out again, easing my way back into my workouts over the last two weeks. So it has been a month since I have worked out really hard. This week I will get back to doing hard cardio workouts. During this time I didn't spend much time on this site either writing to people, new memebers or old members or posting any blogs, or reading other peoples entries. The world series also contributed to my absense. GO PHILLIES!!
Anyway, some people sent their best wishes and it is much appreciated. Another new develpoment for me is that this Wednesday a new LA Fitness opens up 4 minutes from my home, whereas I have been driving 20 (on a good day) minutes to go to another LA. This is big, I am excited about this and I can't wait. Knowing that the new gym is so close to my home I have been emailing some members about this and asking if I should modify my workout. I have been following a strict BFL workout routine. I thought about doing a 3 body part split on alternate days. Day 1 Lower Body Workout, Day 3 Upper Body PUSH (chest, shoulders, tricepts) Day 5 Upper Body PULL (Back, Lats, Traps, Bicepts) the other days is cardio with one day rest.
In emails recieved, what I got was basically the truth. Keep up with your standard Body For Life program. I am 52, why would I want to do a workout for someone in their 20s or 30s or whatever. You are getting the results you want, I do not want to bulk up. I am as big as I want to get. What I was told was the truth.
At the gym, people will tell you what you want to hear or what they think you want to hear. I think friends are like this also, they tell you what you want to hear, most times you don't get the truth.
Here at this site, people will tell you what you really need to focus on. There is a difference between the two. Because of the way this site works, there are great people here who can offer great information on how you should workout. They have no financial interest in what happens to you. They are not here to blow smoke up your butt!!! The plan is simple, don't complicate it! Upper Body Workout and Lower Body Workout- alternate them, every other day with cardio in between. Keep it simple stupid KISS. Again, I would like to thank those people who reached out and gave me their ideas on how to progress, and sometimes the best way to do this is the simplest way.
