Witty Words of Catharine
I mentioned before that she is really quite funny and comes up with these sayings and I am like "Where did you ever hear that"???? So today's witty words went like this:
I notice she has makeup on the side of her face by her eyes that didn't get blended in too well - so I let her know to rub it in - she says its there cuz they look like two burnt holes in a blanket!!
LOL!!!!!!!!! Who says that?????? OMG she is so funny!
Today was a great day on all levels - her labs look good so she got the full spectrum of drugs!! Always a bitter sweet thing, because its those very drugs that are destroying her heart but necessary to kill the cancer.
It was also good because she gets time to release all that she is holding in. She is a die hard stuffer through and through and its a blessing to me to be that non-judgemental sounding board she needs to just let it all go....I can always see her face change by the time we are done talking, wrinkles literally fade, eyes brighten, smiles come easily......
She has a very difficult home situation one I have never gone into and it really is neither here nor there, what does matter is that she find strength, comfort and peace in the way things are and stop poisioning her body with stress and anger.
She said she got so upset yesterday she took her baked potatoe and threw it against the wall............I totally busted up laughing visualizing this act - and said boy that must have been FUN!!!!!!!!!! In a second she forgave herself, felt the humor in it, and realized its just not a big deal! She laughed too and said HECK YEAH IT WAS - as we were talking she went to put her glasses on and they were FILTHY, she saw it too, and I said "Looks like you got a bit of potatoe smeared on there girl" - she laughed really hard, almost to tears, and said thank you for helping me laugh at myself, to not take things so seriously and feel like I am just a normal person - like everyone else.
Lifes blessings...............
I am truly blessed ~ my gratitude is overflowing.
I wanted to update as well - the women who was having a heart attack I wrote about last week is OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so incredibly relieved to hear that!!!

Sounds like some healing is going on to me. That's exactly what she needs, and thank God she has you there to give it to her. Keep fighting the good fight...the fight that is love.

Wonderful share. These are the type of posts that bring things firmly into their proper perspective. Friends, relatives, complete strangers are out there facing struggles beyond imagination. If we can ease their burden for even a moment, we've done something special that makes today a huge WIN and gives our life greater meaning. I ponder the selfishness that exists in so many, in myself and I pray for the wisdom to simply seek others out to brighten their day ... ease their burden. Much love.

When my step mother had cancer she told me how hurt she was that so many of her friends turned away from her as they felt uncomfortable, how I wish she had had a beautiful friend like you to support her, you are a gift to Catherine.

Thats hilarious about the potatoe throwing and that some of it got on her glasses!!! That made me LOL...She is WONDERWOMAN like I said. Everytime I read about what she is going through Makes me remember how SMALL my problems are...YOU BOTH ARE WONDERFUL SOULS!!!!
Mellie, You are doing so much good here. For Catherine yes but for Mellie too. You will never regret this time. I have been distant in this matter because it was very close to my heart but you are in my thoughts and prayers. I continue to be impressed with your strength of character in your daily walk. My river of love and support is flowing to you. Thank you for inspiring me to be a stronger and more compassionate person by the actions you take everyday.
