Day 4, Week 1 -- Perfect
Ok, so I had a minor slip and had some Coke today (I've been trying to give up carbonated drinks). So maybe it wasn't a "perfect" day. But I had a GREAT cardio exercise. I skated from Washington all the way to end of Santa Monica, and kept up enough of a pace that I was sweating bullets throughout. I think I need to drink more water though -- it seems like I'm sweating pure salt. Weird.
I'm almost done with my first week, and I feel great. Not just physically, but emotionally too. I'm doing this for myself, but I'm mindful of the secondary reasons as well. There is someone out there who I owe this to, almost like an apology. To humble myself and allow her to serve as my inspiration, when previously I had thought that I was the cat's cradle -- it's my way of saying sorry.
She may never see it, but I'm making peace with myself this way. I will be strong throughout these 18 weeks, and I will shed the fears that kept me from appreciating what I had.
Next time opportunity knocks, I will not miss it.
