UPDATE
This is not so much a blog entry as it is an update and an explanation of my absence of late. Several of you have emailed me to express concern about my lack of presence on the site lately. First of all, thank you. It's nice to know that my absence doesn't go unnoticed. I'm also glad to see that all of the newcomers are getting a warm welcome from so many of you. I actually find myself feeling guilty for not being able to be active on here. I guess that's a commentary on what a community this truly is.
So, where have I been? We'll they say things happen in threes right? I'm living proof that in fact, they do. If you recall, I hurt my back on Sunday and then sustained mulitple bee stings on Tuesday. Well, not one to do things in any small fashion, I sustained an eye injury on Saturday night. It's a bit of a long story but the short of it is that I was camping with friends Saturday night and was poked in the eye by one of the tent poles. 2 Trips to the ER and an Ophomologist later, I find myself at home, unable to do much of anything with a large corneal tear. The good news is that as bad as it sounds, I'm told it will heal completely and I should be back in action by the weekend. For now, I found myself relegated to the couch, munching on pain killers unable to do much of anything at all. My injured eye is EXTREMELY sensitive to light and as a result, I'm hardly able to open either eye. Obviously, typing is not something I've been able to do. I haven't even really been able to read. This morning I thankfully find myself with enough vision to sneak out a quick blog entry. I suspect I won't be back on the site for at least a day or two. I want to thank you all of you in advance for your concern and well wishes.
All in all, this is a minor convenience that will do nothing more but delay my transformation by a week. Although, I'm unable to workout until my vision returns to normal and I'm no longer in need of pain killers, I'm still driven by the desire to change and find myself continuing to eat right! For that, I'm very grateful!

Are ya back with us and ready to Kick Some *A* and take some names? Yeeeeehaw!! :-) I've kept you and many of our others in the Transformation Family in my prayers, and I hope your eye has healed..and you're ready to get back on this Mighty Movin' Train with all of us... As you can tell..we ARE a family.,....and we DO care.. Please get us an update on your health when you can..and know that we are here to help in any way we can! Cheery
read thru that post holding my breath....so sorry that you had the unlucky three things happen...glad you will heal...a week out of the action is probably ok cuz you are probably MENTALLY involved and that is a big part of this thing. I found that i needed my first FOUR weeks of this to really wrap my head and heart around the concepts and ways of doing this challenge...been rockin it ever since and my husband has come on board too (although not on this site as he has so limited time he only does email and news online) rest up...heal well...and back to it!
Glad you are OK...I was getting worried.
Rest the eye......that is so crucial....glad you are keeping a great attitude about the whole ordeal and get back when you can! ~ Pete
Get better soon Paul!!! I've got ya in my prayers buddy... I'm Cat by the way, new to the 8-18 group! Happy LATE Birthday!!!!
Sometimes when bad things happen we are forced to actually slow down and look at life from a different perspective. I hope that in your slow week you are able to find more to be grateful for.
MOVIE...not move...geez! I can't type!
Have you ever seen that move Pure Luck with Martin Short? You totally remind me of him!! Having said that, I am out all next week to go hunting/camping and I hope I didn't just jinx myself! I am glad you're ok! And although I didn't email you, I missed you! I am glad you'll be ok!
