Exercise is done against one's wishes and maintained only because the alternative is worse. - Day 78

Day 78 - The Daily Show & Colbert Report

I am having a hard time believing how much both sides of the political fence are so confused about what they talk about.

With video and audio constantly following them it is a wonder they all don’t quit this election process.

Thanks to “The Daily Show” at least we (Annette and I) can see with a humorous bent all the two sided positions all the candidates take.  It is so evident when they are compared side by side with themselves.  How these shows keep up with all the video footage, I’ll never know but I am thankful that someone does.  The main stream media would never do it and they are the ones who provide most of the material that is used.

I would hope that many would use the Daily Show & the Colbert Report as two of their sources for information concerning the issues for this election.  I know there are plenty of web sites out there but I’m not sure where else good information can be found.

United we stand, Divided we fail.

On to today’s quote and how it holds meaning in my life.

Today was a failed attempt to work out this morning.  I was catching up on the TiVO recorded news as both political sides held their pep rallies recently.

I will get my workout in a little later today and that is what I like about life change.
Working out is not really against my wishes it is just maintained as any other part of my day.
I need to get my workout in just like I needed to get a haircut today, eat, do dishes and help with the weekend chores around the home.

In fact, as soon as I post this I will be out in our old farm house (gym) lifting.

I will not stop because I know too well that the alternative is worse.

********
On a side note that ties this all together for me today, I know of many who have no desire to vote in this November’s election.  I personally believe that is a cop out.

We live in a country that allows us to vote.  We should exercise that right even if done against our better wishes.  The alternative (not being able to vote) is far worse.

I’ll admit, there have been elections where Annette and I have been so divided on the issues that she would (or I would) purposely vote opposite of the other to have our votes cancel.

At least we voted which gave us reason to voice concerns to our elected officials if policies in our country needed to be addressed and changed.  The process does work if one works the process.

I encourage all who have not registered yet to get out there and register.
You don’t have to pick one party over the other....stay undecided until you enter the booth if you want.....but at least try and make a difference.  We all win if you do.

May you “Prosper Always” in everything you do!
