I Am

Who am I? Wow! What a profound question. For I am many things. I am the Executive Director of the CENTER FOR AUTHENTIC LIVING, an organization committed to reminding people who they are, of the strengths they have within, and to providing the tools to live from that higher place. I am a seminary student, working toward my ordination as an interfaith minister. I am a radio personality, with a show called Life Talk that airs weekly to an audience of 300,000 listeners. I am a teacher, seeing life as a series of lessons first to be learned, and then to be taught to others. I am a writer, feeling compelled to record the world in words. I am a photographer, reminded of the beauty of the world when I have a camera in my hands. But does this engaging list really capture who I am? For what is it that unites all of these diverse expressions? If I look a little bit deeper, I guess what comes to mind is the fact that I very much identify with being a spiritual being, coming from a place of love and infinite wisdom, temporarily here on earth to learn, to teach, and to find my way back home, making sure to pick up fellow travelers along the way. I am strongly motivated by this sense of my connection to the Divine, and by an insatiable yearning to know more, accompanied by a thirst for living life fully, followed by a desire to then share what I’ve learned with others. I see myself as a guide - believing that we all have access to the answers that we seek, we just need to be reminded of where to look and how to listen. I see life as a grand cosmic experiment, of which I am the experimenter – and I have a willingness to be candid about my discoveries, my struggles, my wins, my losses, the richness of my humanness, in order to fulfill my purpose here on earth, which is a purpose we all share – to be fully utilized in our own unique ways in order to make a difference in the lives of others. I am always moved by the strength and beauty of those I see around me, and my desire is for those I meet to see themselves through my eyes.

My Favorite Charity

I tithe religiously ;-) and my favorite way of giving is to anonymously act on behalf of God, providing financial support when I become aware of need.

To me, Transformation Means

Transformation is expressed in my headline – “I am that which I am becoming.” Pretty profound words. I am becoming, yet I am already that. For me, transformation is uncovering that which I am, and living from that knowing. It is a never-ending work in progress, as I continue to explore the depths of the answers yet to come.

My Goals

What a marvelous opportunity creating my profile is providing, for it is asking me questions I have not taken the time to reflect upon, but questions that are important to ask. What are my goals? I have pretty lofty goals. My greatest goal is that when I die, my tombstone will say, “Used Up.” I wish to live life completely, which to me means expressing fully that who I am in the world – even if that expression feels uncomfortable at times. I feel strongly called to be of service to others, and my goal is to allow myself to be used as a voice of wisdom and compassion, which at times I feel under-qualified to express. My goal is to allow that which seeks expression through me to take form – in whatever way that expression is meant to take. My goal is to get out of my own way, so that I can be used as a vessel of service. And to bring my goals back down to earth – my goal is to have a body that is healthy and fit, so that all of me can be a demonstration of congruency.

My Intentions

My intentions are to keep my word, and to continue to step forward boldly, one day at a time, living life in the moment, trusting that tomorrow will unfold with grace and ease.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

To me, to inspire means to motivate another to take action. I wish, by my own actions, to be a demonstration of a life lived by faith, and to thus inspire all whom I come in contact with to live life in that same bold way, which is a way that is unique to whom they are and to their own personal calling. Although often feeling afraid that I’m not up to the task, I’m willing to act in spite of fearful thoughts, and I have a willingness to inspire within a sphere of influence that is limitless in its scope.
