My purpose for making this transformation....

I Am

Stay at home mom of 3 happy, energetic children. I care most about my family.

To me, Transformation Means

I believe it starts with the desire to improve our current status. That is something different for each person. To me, this transformation means changing virtually every aspect of our family life. We didn't get overweight by pumping iron and eating carrots! So many things must change. Instead of leaving the house and saying, "where are we going to eat?", it is now, "what are we going to do?". When your 2 year old and 4 year old are chanting from their car seats, "Chinese, Chinese!!", on a routine errand, you know you're doing something wrong. When they know virtually every restaurant in two towns, that's a pretty good indication that something needs to change.

My Goals

I am going to burn off approx 45lb. I am currently 175, I should be around 130.

I am changing my eating habits. Our family used to eat out about 5 times a week (no, we're not rich...just lazy). In the past month, I have converted to a high raw diet, eating mostly raw fruits & vegetables, and very little meat or dairy.

I am on a quest for a lot more energy!!! I had to do something...I was sleeping late (til 11am), I had no energy, I was tired all the time. I started walking about 2 months ago....doesn't get any easier than walking! We do 2 hour walks, now I'm getting into biking. I'm ready to take the next step. I'm 32, I know I need to start incorporating resistance training for healthy bones.

I am going to be a positive role model for my children. My oldest, Jeb, is just like my husband and me. My husband can sit in front of the tv for hours. I can sit at the computer for hours. All 3 of us are overweight. I don't want my youngest 2 thinking this is what life is all about. We are going to start setting a better example.

My Intentions

I intend to change my life, and the lives of my family members. We know how to get fat, we succeeded at that. Now, we are going to get healthy.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Finally, an easy question! I want to inspire everyone around me. I think a healthy body and a vibrant, energetic personality is inspirational to all of us. Since I started converting my diet to high raw, and since I started exercising on a regular basis, I have influenced my family to embrace a more healthy lifestyle. I now walk and bike ride with my mother and sister once to twice a week. My family is testing my raw food preparations. I see some of my family members changing with me.....and that inspires me!
