“We are all one family. As a family we do not have to agree with each other, believe the same things, like the same things or people but we should learn to respect and love each other including all of our differences.”
Food is so hard to deal with! How right you are. It would be much easier if we could just quit eating. Never again! Alcohol and food are both everywhere...
But we will keep working towards our goals, we will stumble but we will support each other.

Thanks for the 12 hugs back, so nice! To answer your questions about fruit on the plan I've started. I don't have the book yet but I know you have a limit to how many sugar calories or carbs you have each day- it is very low. Don't want to go into ketosis. There are portion-controlled free foods that have carbs that you don't have to count that include leafy and green veggies- portion control is important. I'm still on a very beginning learning curve but its something that I had been leaning towards intuitively so it was uncanny how Deb mentioned it to me as I was actively looking at my nutrition. About a year and a half ago I had read something about the way it works in a science journal about insulin and glycemic index relative to gluten vis a vis celiac disease and how vegetables were better than gluten products for fiber without the out-of-control glycemic index of wheat and a lot of other grains (gluten foods) and what happens with insulin etc. I'm not a scientist or expert on any of this but it seemed relative to me because of how my blood-sugar fluctuates and dramatically spikes then crashes. I want to avoid diabetes in the future and manage hypoglycemia now. So, still in the early process of learning and trying. It will help when I have the book but there are several youtube videos of Jorge Cruise. Deb would be able to answer, she has experience with it.
The first one went great, but was not for me. The second one was great for me, but I'm not sure it went too well. Oh well, we live to fight another day. Keep up the good work.
Step 14 is such a hard step. You have come such a long way with movement. Let's hope it will be turned into a new next step on your way to weight loss and flexibility and strength. It gets hard to keep motivated while you have to work, it will be straightened outl Love, Marilyn
Sandy - Thanks for dropping by and thinking about me. I'm doing just fine, thank you. I've been down most of this week with doctors' appointments, biopsies, procedures, etc. But I was able to get out this afternoon and go for a walk, so I'm just jim-dandy again. Seeing my birds, lizards, coons, and gators lifted my spirits considerably. Enjoy life! ~ Cliff ~
Sandy I love to practice the law of reciprocation…it comes back to you ten fold. Have a great weekend and I hope you stay true to your plan...remember Rome wasn't built in a day...=)
Sweet Sandy: Your kind words touched my HEART!! That is one of the main reasons why I continue to come here and stay connected to this wonderful community: I hope that my presence and my actions bring hope to others. I do everything I can to give back what I have learned and what I have freely received from so many EMPOWERING and UPLIFTING people. I am glad that in some way I have been able to touch your Heart too.
About the Dutch Processed Cocoa, I tend to buy it at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. A brand that I like but have not seen in the store lately is the "Lake Champlain Organic Unsweetened Cocoa" which has the processing that dear Micky and Debby recommend.
My next place to look for it is "Amazon.com"
I hope this helps.
Energized Hugs,
- Yoly
Sandy thanks for commenting on my most recent post. When I joined Carin's and Marty's group I was lost. Carin was kind enough to lead me in the right direction. She is truly a champion!!
Thank you for continuing to follow me and comment on my posts. You are a special person.

I am a curious, funny, caring, articulate struggling food addict. I want my body to be strong, healthy, flexible, vibrant and youthful.
The most important thing in my life is to live it as open and honestly as I can. To strive to be the best person I can be, to continue to learn, laugh and love life. To not give into my addiction and to help share the message that we are all one family.

To me, Transformation Means
Creating a mind, body and soul that are strong, healthy, vibrant, flexible, curious, loving and youthful. It means letting go of my food addiction and replacing it with HEALTH!! It means being able to dance again. To shop in any store I want to. To get back on stage and not let my weight stop me. To take ballroom dancing with Russ. To be as beautiful on the outside as I am inside. To be able to help others succeed too.
My Goals
I will take care of myself the way I deserve to be taken care of.
I will heal the physical damage I have done.
I will restore and recreate my healthy, lean, fit, muscular, strong, beautiful and vibrant physical body.
I will take care of, respect, value, love and support myself - physically, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually.
My Intentions
My lifetime intentions are to live life fully, give love freely, learn, listen and share; to be physically, spiritually, intellectually and emotionally strong, healthy, vibrant, youthful, flexible and active. To fulfill my calling as a healer/teacher and help others find their voice, dreams and to overcome their struggles.
