Sounds like a plan. Maybe someday we'll be in good enough shape to hike Piestewa Peak or Camelbackl! Last time I tried that (8years ago?) I thought I was gonna keel over...seriously,lol!

Your words are so encouraging! I know I can't give up, it isn't worth it. I can either work hard and see some progress. Or stop and go back to the way I was and maybe even worse. This is a tougher journey than I anticpated, but I know it will be worth it in the end! Thank you again so much for the kind words! Arlyn

I Am

Start weight 270#. I am a tall, morbidly obese lady in her early 30s. I am intelligent, learn quickly, retain information well. But I can't seem to quite get things together despite this big brain that's so celebrated by my family and my employers. My house is generally a mess despite that I love things to be pristine. My body is in horrible shape. I never do much with my hair or makeup. It's like there's this disconnect... I care alot about big causes and even the little troubles of people around me, but never really do much about any of it. I'm just too tired... and a little jaded I guess.

To me, Transformation Means

I haven't figure that part out yet. I'm thinking something along the lines of... becoming a verb instead of an adjective... if that makes any sense. I think MichelleT's post gives some good insight into figuring this out.

My Goals

I've a long way to go, so there will be a series of Transformations I must go through. Although my only true goal is "TO FINISH THE THING!" and anything else would be a 'gift with purchase', here are the hoped-for results for my first 18 weeks:
-Lose 5% of my body fat.
-Make the constant pain my left leg no longer constant go away completely.
-Make it so none of the clothes I have in the closet now are too tight unflattering.
-Be able to jog at least 1/8 of a mile. Everything I crossed out I've already achieved!!

My Intentions

I want to live into my 90s and beyond so that I can make a difference for years to come. I want to reclaim the years lost to my obesity and lack of passion. I want to feel that I can do anything, to at the very least try, and show everyone around me that they can, too. I want to radiate life to everyone I meet. I want a nice eulogy at my funeral and for no one to mourn my passing, but to feel that warm glow of remembering a life lived well and a good purpose fulfilled.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My mother. I want to be able to show her, and others like her, that it really is possible to get healthy and beautiful again - that you don't have to give up & become the walking dead - that there ARE great things ahead... and that she DESERVES THEM!!
