Chagrined
Act III
Scene 1
Opening: Sally sits at the computer, wringing her hands. She lays her fingers on the keyboard as if to begin typing, but then pulls them back slowly. She bites her fingernails, staring at the computer screen, which shows a blue and white image: "Transformation"... Finally, with a deep sigh, she begins typing...
Sally: Since I've been so blog-gone-loud about my frustrating plateau, this is hard to type. I haven't gotten on the scale since right before my 9 week video. Having only a 3 lb drop in that whole first 9 weeks, I was a bit disheartened. Well, after my cardboard pizza and a few beers "free" meal Satruday night, I angrily pulled that nasty scale out of hiding Sunday morning to see what damage I'd done. I was expecting, no, I got on that scale KNOWING that I'd be right back where I started 174. Imagine how I felt when the scale read "165".
(Sally inhales deeply, then)
Sally: IT MOVED! THE SCALE ACTUALLY MOVED! OHHAPPYDAYSMILEGIGGLEJOYJOY! It took 13 weeks to start, but it moved, and I feel deeply grateful. Only 15 more to go! At this rate, it'll take another 22 weeks or so, but I can do this!
I'm so proud of myself for keeping up the intensity of my workouts despite that rotten 13 week plateau. And I owe so many of you guys a HUGE thank you for letting me vent about that awful frustration, for understanding and not beating me up for putting it out there. I am so blessed.
(With a smile and a flourish, Sally hits the button...)

This is terrific! I love how positive you are and that you made me laugh about something we all take so seriously. You are doing a great job (and with a smile I might add), Sally!
no no no...not 22 weeks!! now that that last bit left- hopefully it left the door open and the other 15 unwanted pounds will follow it quickly and BE GONE!! (I am still laughin about your comment on Scavenger hunt about it having no scary clowns)
Great Job Sally!! I did the same thing with a plateau that seemed to last forever! The scale didn't budge for 5-6 weeks at least, and I was getting so frustrated. But, the choices are keep going and do the program coz we know it will work, or quit and know where we are headed!!! I finally broke the plateau the last few weeks, and have dropped 6-7 more pounds, with a total of 38 now. You are doing a great job, and the take home message for all of us, is to keep going. Know the plateaus are going to happen, but be persistent and it will pay off!! Great Post!
