Just an update
Just thought I'd come out and update everyone. The last 2 weeks have been really crazy. Friday we had our end-of-school fundraiser Walk-a-thon at Bethany's school. 12 hours straight on my feet and 500 kids later we were done. Not sure how much $ we raised, but the kids seemed to have fun. I'm extra crispy. I forgot to put on sunscreen and my arms/neck and tops of my feet are really burnt. Ouch.
Today was the last baseball game and the wrap-up party for the season. I'm glad it's over and all my coaches and kids had a good time. Our league is recreational and strictly for fun. The kids and parents really enjoy the fun nature of our games. This will be one of the few extra curricular activities that I will continue to carry on with..unless I can find someone to step up to the plate and really take over. All the equipment has already been put up and now I can relax a little.
Update on the knee..since the cortizone shot its been perfectly happy. Even handled the constant up/down hill walking I had to do at school yesterday as I was running around tending to various things. So I think I can safely start training for a 5k very soon.
This coming week I have 2 nights work..monday we have setup for the 5th grade banquet and tuesday night is the banquet..and that is our last official event of the year. School is OUT ON FRIDAY! My PTO duties as President this year have been quite stressful. I'm quite relieved to be handing the reigns over to others.
*breathes a big sigh of relief* If I had the money I'd get myself a facial/massage for making it through the Spring. Alas, does not appear that will happen so I'll just have to soak in my tub instead :) No new news on Don's job. things are impossibly hard and at times seem hopeless...but I know there is a bigger plan and we are being patient as best we can. We are anticipating his current temporary job will end at the end of May if not before then we're back to basic unemployment..which is not really enough for us to live. Anyway..enough of that.
The sun is shining and I'm blessed. I have wonderful friends and family and I am thankful for them. Have a wonderful day!
Stephanie
