Wow
things are kind of upside down in my world these days. With so much negative whirling around us, it is really hard sometimes to stay focused on the positive..cause the positive can be darn hard to find. We have been optimistic that in the next month or so that Don would be called back to his former job. That does not look to be the case now given some new information we have received. He went to clean out the final items from his desk this morning.
He is working a temporary day labor kind of job, which, unfortunately has seriously aggravated some back injuries and he is in a great deal of pain every day right now. It is hard for me to see him suffer knowing that we don't have any option..he has to work that job as long as he can if we are to have any hope of surviving this financial crisis. When hard times like these hit home and you have trouble just buying food...well it tends to put things in perspective.
Today 3 of my co-workers were laid off. In the state system in which i work this is a rare rare occurance..so it is quite shocking. We were told this afternoon right before we left work. I'm grateful that for now my job is somewhat safe. My heart breaks for my 3 friends.
With the intensity of our personal situation right now it is increasingly hard to find my happy-spots during the day. I can't fake that..life is real and life is hard right now. That is the reality.
I"m trying to continue on with my summer goals. it is slow going but I'm just taking a day at a time.
Our family could use alot of prayers at the moment.
Thanks,
Stef
