Hi SuzQ! In case I haven't told you lately I LOVE you!!! Your profile is so lovely. Your story about the puppy made me giggle. I totally forgot how much having a puppy is like having a baby and toddler when I got my dog two years ago. Can't wait to hear all about your week and I'm so proud of how great you are doing. Love ~ Andrea

I Am

I am love. I am an optimist, a successful professional in education management in the career college sector and I love my job. I help people realize their dreams in a non-traditional educational setting. I am happily married to the love of my life and enjoy traveling, arts, music, stargazing, hiking, camping and laughter. I love cooking (yikes, and it shows!) I have always been happy and positive and for as long as I can remember, overweight. Oh- and I am Joe Pimental's little sister (previous challenge winner). I've decided to take Joe's suggestion and give Bill's transformation a try. II have to admit, my hesitation in doing this is that unlike many people on here, I have a greater challenge in that I have more pounds to shake off and a lifetime of unhealthy eating habits to break. I didn't just "let myself go" for a few years... I've never "been there." In fact somewhere, on a reel-to-reel family video, there is a chubby little toddler me crawling to the fridge and my dad saying in the background "What are you eating now, Suzanne" Overweight is all I've ever known, so I have buried myself in knowledge and creativity, in being the best at everything else. It's time I direct the overachiever towards making my physical form as beautiful as my soul. I'm hoping the moral support that I hear this site is good for (along with some healthy, good old fashioned sibling rivalry) will keep me motivated. I have lost weight before... 30 pounds here, 25 pounds there, even 55 pounds once about 10 years ago. My problem has always been that it finds me again, and within a year of losing it, I gain everything I lost and then some right back. What I care about most is living life to the fullest for as long as I can with my honey, and being a positive influence on those around me. I love life (the sights, the sounds, the smells, the taste.... oops- that's where I get myself in trouble). Let the challenge begin!

My Favorite Charity

So many worthy charities out there! It was a tough decision and I will support as many as I can, but I have to go with my heart & initial choice for one favorite here:

To me, Transformation Means

Truth, insight and enlightenment. Being honest enough with myself to see what is not right in my world and building up the courage to change. Breaking weary, life-long habits and shedding them like an old skin. And being selfish enough to realize that I deserve better than what I have given to my physical form. I let myself settle and accept the mediocre for too long. I realized a long time ago that I don't need to be skinny to be happy, but what I now know is that I need to be healthy so that I can continue to be happy for a longer time.

My Goals

I need to lose 126 pounds to reach my personal goal weight; my "stretch" goal is to lose 143. For this first 18 week challenge, I have a goal of 36 pounds to lose. Above is my long term goal and current progress ticker, below is my 18-week progress ticker. (you can create tickers for free at www.tickerfactory.com

I want to have more energy to hike farther with my honey, to climb higher trails without having to go so slow, to paddle longer in the kayak, and to sleep 7-8 hours straight through the night and wake up energized.

My Intentions

To succeed and inspire others with my story, just as I am inspired now by those who came before me. To pay it forward and keep it going forever.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Everyone. My family, my staff, my students, my colleagues, and anyone else out there who is ready to make a change!
