Today is Day 2 of eating clean again and avoiding my trigger foods.  I'm struggling but I always immediately find strength through leaning on the Lord and it helps me.  It also helps to just focus on the moment and do the best I can and enjoy it. Eating clean frees my mind

Yes I gave up sugar completely even in processed foods.. But like you I am a perfectionist. Which means I don't get to eat much because almost EVERYTHING that is processed has sugar in it. Even canned beans which I made my chili with!!! So I just started buying dried beans instead. :) But before I really didn't eat a lot of processed food anyway, so it wasn't too hard for me. It's just when that sugar addiction kicked in is when I ate the process junk so once I cut that out I didn't have a problem. So I've been sticking to basically, fruit, veggies, meats, fish, chicken, turkey, beans, rice, eziekel bread, oats, and anything that doesn't have refined processed sugar in it!! Also watch out for corn syrup.. that is even worse!!!! I think eventually I will go back to eating some stuff that has sugar in it.. But for now, being the perfectionist that I am, I want to eliminate ALL of it from my diet!!! The stuff is poison!!! I think I am going to chill while I'm in Dallas though and allow myself to eat out and have a good time. Not have like desserts and stuff, but not worry about the sugar and stuff that is in my bread or whatnot when eating out. You know what I mean?? That would be almost impossible. But as soon as I get back I will get right back on track!! I've also gone all organic if you would like to hear my spiel on that too :) LOL.. I know what you are thinking.. OMG this girl could go on forever right?? You were right :) HAHAHA Ok, gotta go have a good weekend!! P.S. If you are trying to get off of it completely and need something to curb your sugar needs until you break it try fresh dates THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!

My name is Melanie and I love life, my family, and friends. I love fitness, reading, learning, food, water, beaches. I love the things that bring the most joy and happiness, which to me are love, service, and all of the wonderful gifts of life. I have 3 girls ages 7 to 1 1/2 and they are beautiful dolls that are so fun to have around.

My Goals

February 14, 2010-June 19, 2010
1) I, Melanie's body fat percentage is down to 18 %. My measurements are 36-26-36.
2) I, Melanie's blood pressure is 102/62, as measured at the Dr. office. My cholestrol is less than 140 mg/dL
3) I, Melanie's after picture: I see my healthy, beautiful, strong, well-conditioned body standing tall with youthful posture, with 19 lbs less body fat. I see my bright eyes and joyful smile.

My Intentions

To revere life by enjoying animals, kids, sunlight, lifting others up, altruism, accepting others, and building friendships, and good food.

To meditate twice a day

To review my goals right when I wake up and right before I go to sleep at night

To practice visualization when I read my goals

Patterns of actions that I need to change
Old: stopping and pausing
New: Start and do not stop, to build momentum (Freight train) to reach my goals!!
Old: Keeping positive comments to myself
New: Reach out to at least 1 person everyday
