42 lbs lost in 18 weeks

On one hand I'm disappointed.  I didn't make my goals. The last three weeks were frustrating as I continued to see very little progress.    But on the other hand I really do feel a lot better than I used to and 42 lbs is still pretty good.  Now I've had a free week, and am ready ...

Hi there it is fun to find Michiganders on the site. I haven’t been back to Michigan for about four years I’m beginning to miss it. I will probably travel to Traverse City this summer. I was thinking of doing the walk here in Chicago this year, I did the Aids Ride 500 miles from St Paul MN to Grant Park Chicago eight years ago that was quite an experience. We were all crying carrying our bikes over the finish line. Those who do the walk must feel the same emotionally when they reach their goal. It will be a fantastic accomplishment. Love Peace and Joy Norma

I Am

I am a husband and a father. I have two great kids: a daughter (8) and a son (7). I grew up on the shores of Lake Huron and still live in Michigan. In high school I played football and ran track but have since put on about 80 lbs. I enjoy the outdoors, playing guitar and singing, reading, cooking, and eating good food with others.

My Favorite Charity

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

To me, Transformation Means

Being healthy. Thinking right about who I am before God and in relationship with God. Being generous and not greedy, with time, energy, money, social capital, and food. Being strong physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially. Confidence. Not having a belly the shakes like a bowl full of jelly.
"And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, arebeing transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, whichcomes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" - 2 Corinthians 3:18

My Goals

I am stating my goals as if they are already accomplished, because in the future they are.
I lost 60 lbs in 18 weeks and weigh 222lbs and I am strong.
I lost the belly and gained a superhero shape.
I only have the chin God gave me, and got rid of the second chin that I added onto myself.
I have more energy to love my God, my family, and my neighbors.
I feel good and not tired or depressed.
I am becoming all that God created me to be.

My Intentions

To eat six meals of only good tasting, healthy food (higher quality, lesser quantity) consisting of a serving of protein, a complex carbohydrate, & some vegetables each day.
To drink mostly water everyday.
To exercise six days a week: one upper body workout, one lower body workout, two 20 minute High Intensity Interval Training sessions, at least two 40 minute lower impact cardio (heart rate target 118) sessions.
To get 7+ hours of sleep a night.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My family, my friends and neighbors, my church, America (we need to be inspired if we are going to survive).
