Stalled so soon?

Here it was, Day Three, and I woke up dead tired.  I mean, so painfully sleepy I was very close to crying.  I got only 5-1/2 hours last night, and I need between 8 and 9.  So all I could do was manage to stay awake. I'm off to bed now, though, and I feel sleepy.

Hey TGWG, my bday is 1 day after yours, pretty cool huh? I like what you wrote on Ashlyn's video, I feel the same way about food, in fact I was just talking w/ my buddy about the analogy between giving a drunk a drink and going too crazy on our free-day with junk-food; leads to major setbacks.

Hey welcome to the site! I can relate to your self destructive habits. I abused myself with alcohol, drugs, and overeating/purging for a long time, but I'm finally free of it all. Have you started your challenge or joined a group yet?

I Am

I am a mother of two sons, one of whom was diagnosed ten years ago with a severe mental illness. For a long time, I caved to despair over his situation (as well as some other personal setbacks) by "self-medicating," but have been free of alcohol and cigarettes for over two years now.

Now it's time to take the next step by getting back into shape.

Being fit isn't new to me; despite my self-destructive habits, I used to run competitively back in my early 30s.

So while I've experienced hills and valleys, getting fit at this point in my life feels like I'm about to scale a mountain. It's not just about me anymore; it's about my son. It's for him that I've dug myself out, and, in order to become 100% available for him, find myself determined to reach my "highest point" yet.

My Favorite Charity

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)

To me, Transformation Means

Waking up the inquisitive, joyful, optimistic girl I'd always been, but who somehow got buried underneath a lot of hurt.

My Goals

To become fit, healthy and strong...and from there? Why not bodybuilding? That would be awesome!

My Intentions

Begin to run again; lift weights at home; eat well.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My children
