Day 14 - Thanks For Free Day

There are many things about this transformation process that are different from any other weight loss or diet routine I've used in the past.  Most notably, I'm really trying to change from the inside out...verus trying to just drop a few pounds.

As far as the actual nuts and bolts of losing the weight goes, I'd have to say one of the things that is going to allow be to stay on this diet for the rest of my life (but one day at a time) is the Free Day.  When I have a craving throughout the week, it is very helpful to know I can indulge that desire...I just have to wait until my Free Day.  IN the past, when I wanted soemthing I either beat myself up for wanting it or simply told myself I could never have it...which made the food in question all the more desirable...until one day the dam would break, I'd attack my forbidden food like hungry wolverine, and I'd fall off the wagon.  30 poubnds later I'd start all over again.

It's so nice to know, that whatever I want I can have if I can just wait no more than 6 days.

Now, when my free day finally gets here, I really try my best to keep things under control.  This week, my wife made stove top pop corn for my kids...IT SMELLED SO DAMN GOOD!!  I restrained myself, however, and didn't put a single kernal in my mouth.  Today, I'm goign to have a reasonable size bowl of popcorn for a snack.  NOthing huge, just enought to cure my desire.

I hope you're having agreat SUnday!

God Bless
