I Am

My name is Robert. I am a 39 year old husband and father. My wife and I have three children, a nine year old son, 4 year old daughter and an 8 week old newborn girl. My family is my life. My wife is in the Army and works as a dental assistant at Walter Reed Medical Center. Last year our 4 year old daughter went into a diabetic coma. It was the scarcest day of my life. My wife was at her first day of basic training and I was all alone. We had no idea she was a diabetic, the doctor had told us she had a cold but after coming out of the comma she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This has changed our life dramatically. I now am a stay at home dad and take care of her because she can’t go to school or daycare like other kids her age. She has to have her blood sugar checked every few hours and has to adhere to a strict diet. My family and I share an every growing faith in God and know that He has better plans for us and I’m ready to do my part. I attend college and will complete my Associates Degree in Psychology December of 2009. I am ready to take the next step of transforming my life in every way.

My Favorite Charity

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation international @ http://www.jdrf.org/

To me, Transformation Means

People change all the time. Some lose weight; some change their hair style, wardrobe, move across the country or simply give up and leave their life. Anyone can change…transformation on the other hand (to me) means a total and complete change, not just part of a person’s life but EVERY part of the person’s life. I also feel that it all starts on the inside and manifest on the outside. Transformation is becoming aware of where I am then taking the necessary action to transform all areas of my life into a change that is viable on the inside and visible on the outside for the whole world to see.

My Goals

My goals are to finish what I start and learn to keep self promises. I want to find true happiness and be successful in all aspects of life. I want to be an example to my children, wife and others. I want to lose body fat and gain muscle mass. Heck, I want abs. I want a closer relationship with God and more spiritual awareness in my own life of who He has created me to be and the plan He has for my life. I want to fulfill my destiny by creating the right environment and not by letting the environment create my destiny.

My Intentions

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My nine year old son, as well my wife, has watched me struggle with alcohol and being overweight their whole life. I have not been a good example of a man who overcomes his problems and keeps his promises. My 4 year old daughter has Type 1 diabetes and her life and diet has changed dramatically. I want to inspire my family and show them that when Daddy gives his word that it means something. I want to show my wife and son that alcohol will not be what defines me, I want them to see that with God’s help and by transforming my life I can overcome and achieve anything. I want my daughter to see that living a healthy life is not only attainable but fun! My wife has always been my best friend, now I want to be hers. I want to be the hero worthy of whom my son thinks I am. I want the world to see that anything is possible if your motivation and determination are strong enough. I want to inspire everyone around me to be the best that they can possibly be in every way.
