T Day 118
Today after I got up from 3 hours sleep (worked nights last night) I ran a few errands and decided I would go for a run. I loaded up the mail box which after one full trip is 2.5 miles with bottled water and a few packets of energy gel. I wanted to get a least a 10 miler in but I was prepared to go longer. The weather was cool today and over cast with a minimal breeze. So I set out. After the first mile i felt that this could be a great run, I felt really good. When I hit the 5 mile mark I knew I had a good chance of making the whole 13.1 miles. Most of the rest of the run was uneventful, but when i hit the 10 mile mark I felt like I hit a brick... the only thing that got me to the end of my spirit run was spirit. I had to dig deep to find it in myself to push through the total tiredness my legs were feeling. The spirit I was digging for was the spirit of inspiration that I have recieved in the past few months from people that I have never met, but tell me what I am capable of doing. Jonnae and Denise were there with me urging me to push forward, Marty was there telling me to dig deep while running beside me on wounded knees, Jerome was there saying go Troyster ( that's what he calls me,lol) go, and of course my friend Dani was right on my heels, cheering me on. And when I made it to my finishing point ( even though it was a marker on the side of the road at Camp Mohawk) there were all my other inspirations, Sharen and Paul, Dusty, Dude, Jane , Jan, Pete , Sally, Jen, Maria, Tanis, Dave, Michelle, Brad, Kimberly and everyone else that I have come to love and admire greeting me as they too were the spirits that carried me forward.
I just wished they would have carried me back the half mile to my house, an oversight on my part, lol.
Love you guys,
Troy
Hey...and where in the hell were Stoney and Clarissa, lol!

Way to go Troy! I am glad you made it - what an accomplishment and testiment to power of the mind. You inspire me, Paul.
Hey, buddy! I've been away for a while, but I'm still here. I decided to read some blogs to inspire me to at least finish this journey I started. And here you go and inspire me. You kicked ass, guy! I have been drifting away from here, and I have been very lax in my commitment to this challenge. I have to make it a task to read everyone's diary to help me see that we can all do this. It's nice to see your name in someone else's diary...you are a great guy! Keep on keepin' on! Wishes you the best!
You ARE THE MAM!!!!
Hey Zooman, Way to go!!! That is a GREAT accomplishment!! I understand what it means to reach down deep. Pete and I have a little stone that I had written on when we walked our first 10 miler. It simply says "10 miles July 19, '08" and it sits on our kitchen window to remind us. We did it when we were working 10 hour days in the summer and we did this walk right after work at 6pm. It took us a couple of hours and by the time we were done, we were exhausted but estatic. It wasn't so long ago that we thought that 10 miles was a bit of a pipedream. Sometimes its too easy to forget these "milestones" in our lives and let them fade once we've hit them. That's why I write on something like a flat stone to remind me of a goal we've achieved. That is just so way cool that you've hit your own milestone!!
You dusted them!
Great job Troy!!!
