Day 6 -- STILL IN IT TO WIN IT!

It amazes me how what a difference the "right" attitude makes.  I have to admit that I am one who was never taught to be positive, to look on the bright side, to go for my dreams.....heck, to even dream!  Unfortunately, I like so many people in our world, was taught at a very you...

Day 5 -- How Great It Is...

I can say I am feeling better today.  My youngest daughter and I went for a walk/jog/run today.  Jordan rode her bike again while I primarily walked.  Once I started jogging, my lungs hurt a bit since I've been coughing a little.  I am no where near how bad Mark was with this &qu...

I wanted to stop by and say hello, I live in Ohio too. I loved reading your story, it is very similar to mine. My mom and her family came here from Estonia during WWII. She just returned from a trip to Estonia, Latvia and Lithiuania last week. It was her first trip to Latvia and she really enjoyed the country and the people. You are going to love it here on T.com. There are so many wonderful people here to help and support you, take advantage of it! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I wish you a wonderful transformation :). Sara

I Am

My name is Aina. I am a 40 year old wife and mother of two daughters ages 15 and 12. Both of my parents came from the small Baltic country of Latvia; both left their homes and their country during WWII. The strength and willpower they both needed to survive the horrors of war is within me...it's within all of us. Surviving and thriving is a choice. Now is my time to focus on my goals to finally live in a healthy state of mind, body and spirit. No one can do this for us. We must take control of our present, fight through the muck and emerge victorious!

My Favorite Charity

St. Jude Children's Hospital

To me, Transformation Means

Changing to become the best person you can be with the time you are given. The process of the actual transformation may hurt physically and mentally. Transformation means to find out the reasons why you let yourself get into a position you are currently in and deal with those situations once and for all. Finding out how to let go of the hurts from your past and how to stop making excuses for yourself!

My Goals

To lose 50 lbs. for life.
To lose 40 years of past hurts.
Learn to focus on becoming the best Aina I can be; to become the person I know is in there just waiting to put on her new self.
To be the example of strength for my children that my parents were for me.
To clear my mind.
To try new things---one new "thing" per week.
To keep up on my new transformation by writing in a journal and blogging my successes and failures every day.
To be honest with myself and with you.
To check my ego at the door.
To finish reading ONE book at a time! -or- how about just finishing reading ONE book, period!
To learn that it's OK to take time for myself.
TO FINISH THIS TRANSFORMATION!!!

My Intentions

To be an ACTIVE part of this transformation!
To be an inspiriation to others that true change is possible....WHY NOT ME?!?

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My children! My two daughters must see their mother is capable of overcoming huge obstacles in order to change. I would like my girls to see that not only is it possible to stop making excuses in all aspects of life, but that it is OK to dream the impossible and ACHIEVE GREAT RESULTS!
Fear is NOT the great conqueror. I will learn and teach others HOW TO CONQUER FEAR!
