Subtle Successes

Carla! We are all on a journey to reawaken the "woman" inside that can go into sleep/standby mode (kind of like my laptop)! Believe in yourself... your dreams ... work hard... but make sure to have fun along the way!

I Am

Who am I? A loving, sensitive, giving, kind, funny mother of 4 and grandmother of 3 amazing people. My 3 grown daughters are such an incredibly inspiration to me and are always encouraging, motivating, inspiring me to live the life I deserve and be all that I can. My 14 year old son, has Down Syndrome, and he has taught me the value and beauty of living in the present and laughing at myself. I spent the past 20 years in Hawaii and since moving to Colorado, have had a difficult time finding exercise that "moves my soul" the way the ocean did. Regardless, I'm tired of self-loathing and hiding from life because of my body and my self-consciousness with my weight. I want to fall in love again....first with me....and then when the time is right, and my spirit and energy are renewed, the right person will walk into my life, because I allow that to happen. Thank you for this challenge...I'm READY.

My Favorite Charity

Down Syndrome Education & Research....there are alot of great groups. (Nat'l. Organization for Down Syndrome Potential; Mile High Down Syndrome Assn., Special Olympics, etc.

To me, Transformation Means

Living life to the fullest and loving who I am with the energy to first of all to get up in the morning enthusiastic about life ! It also means being an inspiration to other people I meeet.. Transformation means changing on all levels...gently, deliberately, taking action and responsibility for creating a wonderful life.

My Goals

To lose 100 lbs. over the next year. At 5'4" tall, 220 lbs., I am really risking my health. I want to live a healthy life and see my two youngest daughters (26 and 23) become mothers, enjoy raising my 14 year old son, and play with my grandkids. I have a young soul, but my body can't keep up with it!! Truthfully....I want to be able to go into a store and buy what I like, not go for the largest size and then compromise. I want to enjoy "feeling like a woman" again and love being in my own skin. I want to feel sexy again and go on a date without first telling myself I'll be rejected because I'm too fat. I want to take all of the energy I waste beating myself up and dealing with my excess weight and use it to HAVE FUN:-)

My Intentions

To follow Bill's plans (exercise and food choices daily), to do what it takes...to form new pictures of who I want to be and reprogram my mind and reprogram my self-talk for self-love. Reading "The Power of Intention" by Wayne Dyer is a really good tool for me right now.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

Other women and single moms who think they can never do it. Women over 50...like myself. I'd like to inspire my 35 year old daughter who is one of my many angels. I'd like to inspire women who give themselves to everyone else, but forget to take the time they need to renew themselves.
