Week 2 - Day 1 & 2 - one step back two steps forward

I usually write these blogs when I have a few minutes at work to take a break and reflect.  Most of the time the passion to write hits me after I update my BFL spreadsheet and plan my workout for the night.  That being said I wrote my last blog late on Monday toward the end of the wor...

Hey, thanks for the friends invite - nice to meet you! I hope that you are doing well in your first few days - sounds like you used to be really active. Photography is one of my passions also - check out some of our work in Kenya on my photos - profile page. Let me know any way in which I can help. Sara

I Am

I have always loved being outdoors and being active, but recently due to some financial issues and finding a job I really love, I have found myself more inactive then ever. I used to do a lot of things, perform, run, lift, bike, rock climb and recently I have been working, eating and sleeping. That's my life and I need to end this cycle. I have recently found another love which is Photography and I hoping to combine my love for the outdoors, sports and photography to get myself back into an active lifestyle. Maybe with transformation I can finally make that happen. I cringe when I see obese kids. This was not an issue when I was a kid. Of course the crime rate was alot different. My friends and I had no trouble leaving the house at 8 and not coming home until dinner without my parents worrying. Now its an epidemic. I would love to help create more safe places where kids can go to be more active.

My Favorite Charity

Children's Miracle Network

To me, Transformation Means

Turning activity into a lifestyle again. Getting off my butt and enjoying life. Little less TV more running, lifting, climbing, riding and sports. Maybe even a triathlon or 2. Of course taking my camera wherever I go and getting some great shots.

My Goals

To have my body be back in peak performance comparable to my wrestling days in high school, my days in Korea as a soldier and when I was training for the marathon in DC.

My Intentions

The 2009 Rock-N-Roll Half-Marathon in Phoenix on January 18.2009. I would like to do it 98 minutes. They say shoot for the moon reach for the sky. Well, 98minutes is the moon. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has a team to run the race in order to help those with cancer. I am going to race with them. I originally wanted to do the Marathon, but I injured my back during training. Now I will not be able to train successfully for the marathon. I have started BFL to get my base back.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

I would love to inspire kids to get off their butts and enjoy life. We only have one life and we need to take care of it. Obesity, is a disease that can cause all kinds of problems early and later in life. Luckily it is an easy fix if we can just get our kids to take advantage of it.
