Stories from my Transformation Adventures
Just Like Everybody Else
Throughout the 1990s, I worked in an office virtually 365 days a year, running my health-food and publishing companies. It was hard work in a competitive industry, yet it was very rewarding and exciting. Following the publication of my fitness book, Body-for-LIFE® and the success of some other projects, I had achieved my goals in the corporate world and was ready to explore and discover new horizons. So at the age of 34, I set out on a new journey.
Up to that point in my life, my primary focus had been on the physical body and the material world, as it often is for young adults. Yet, my interests were rapidly evolving during this time of transition. I began seeking answers to the bigger questions in life: Beyond the body, what are we? What is our ultimate purpose? How do we develop the inner health and well-being which yields joyfulness, kindness, compassion and unconditional love?
Over the years I had seen many people completely change their bodies, going from fat to fit, from scrawny to brawny and, in some cases, they were just as unhappy and bitter about life as they were before. Even those who did discover that their overall life was better, having become physically fit, were not always able to sustain it for the long run. Clearly, I could see that in terms of complete life change, physical transformation was merely one piece of the puzzle. I didn’t know exactly what the other elements were, but my intuition pointed me in the direction of something “spiritual.” At that time, I wasn’t quite sure what that meant, and I wasn’t even completely comfortable utilizing the word.
I wanted to more fully understand, and if possible, embody inner transformation so I could, in turn, teach it to others. Having cleared my desk of income statements, business plans, managerial reviews, capital expenditure reports, market analysis statistics, etc. for the first time in a decade, I was free to pursue this new passion.
So I poured myself, wholeheartedly, as a humble pupil, into this study of spiritual transformation, reading everything I could find that pertained to it, from the modern scientific theories to ancient theology and religious traditions. From there I began to travel the world to visit and experience the ancient cultures whose wisdom teachings described this process of inner transformation through their sacred narratives, allegories and mythology. One thing that became very clear right away is that this process was revered by great teachers throughout the ages, some of whom referred to it as the highest priority in life.
I journeyed through the East where I encountered the Vedic and Hindu wisdom; through China to explore Confucianism, and then continued on to Buddhism. Throughout Greece and Italy, I studied the Christian teachings both exoterically and esoterically. From Mass with Pope John Paul II in St. Peter’s Square to guided tours of the great cathedrals; to Florence, the heart of Renaissance. I studied the alchemical mystery schools of ancient Egypt and the transformative teachings of indigenous cultures from the Inca, to the Hopi and Aborigine.
During one of my adventures, I found myself deep in the heart of the ancient Mayan civilization’s holy ground, Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan of Mexico. These Mesoamerican Indians thrived during the first millennia of this era and are revered today for their sophisticated, precise science of time and cycles. They recorded their knowledge in stone within their temples, pyramids and calendars, some of which are intact to this day.
The Mayans understood transformation as a process of death and rebirth, where every end was a new beginning. For example, the end of summer was the beginning of fall. That led to the symbolic death of the sun on the winter solstice, December 21, which was followed by the resurrection of light as the days began to become longer. For the Mayans, the shift from winter to spring was another important transformation; that was their New Year’s Day as it indicated the renewal of life and fertility. It was on this day, the vernal equinox of 2005, when I arrived there.
Chichen Itza is a mystical place. I felt like I’d landed on another planet. The warm, humid climate, the plants, the animals, the birds; the whole atmosphere could hardly be more different from Colorado, where I grew up. There’s something magical about that part of Mexico. People often go there expecting to have a transformative experience of one kind or another. You look forward to gaining a special kind of wisdom or insight – something mysterious, powerful, even spiritual.
With all that in mind, I arranged for myself and a few friends I was traveling with to take part in a meditation ritual with a Mayan elder; a Shaman. I also brought along an interpreter, a man named Paco. We gathered near the Pyramid of Kulkulkan, in an area which Paco described as sacred to the Mayans.
The elder was a very small man, definitely less than five feet tall. It was impossible to guess his age. It was also impossible to imagine a more Yoda-like human being. There was just so much character in his face, and humor too. We sat in a circle with this elder, and I was eager to see what would happen next.
With his gentle presence, he looked each of us in the eye and it was clear, he was asking for silence. He then went into a meditative state – a really deep trance. The trance continued for quite a while, and some of the folks in our group were starting to get fidgety, seemingly craving the mental activation we are so accustomed to in the Western world. There was some giggling and snickering, and at one point I felt like saying, “Come on, we’ve got to be respectful,” but I knew that would really fracture the energy. After a bit, it seemed like each person in our group became drawn in and engaged in the meditation. It was really a pretty incredible feeling.
When he finally came out of the trance, the elder passed around a coconut shell with some new corn, or maize, in it. We all tasted the maize, which was a ritual for celebrating the rebirth of life and the crops in the coming season. Then I sensed a moment to speak with the elder through Paco. I wanted to know what the elder was experiencing during that long meditation, so I asked him, “Where did you go?”
He said, “I went to talk to the God.”
“Where is the God?”
At that point the elder gave Paco a puzzled look, as if to say, “How can I answer a question like that?” So Paco said, “The God is within.”
I wasn’t sure if I should ask any more questions. Maybe there was a line I wasn’t supposed to cross, but I decided to go ahead. In a very respectful voice I asked, “What did the God say?”
The elder answered without hesitating. “You have come here for an important reason. You have great potential. You have the power to create change... the ability to transform.”
Wow, what wonderful news! This was the kind of thing we were all hoping to hear. The secret knowledge that a great destiny was waiting. I couldn’t wait to find out more. “Really?!” I said. “What kind of change?”
“Change to restore truth. To heal the imbalance between man and nature, and the imbalance within man’s own nature.”
Now I was really starting to get puffed up. A Mayan holy man was telling me I would help heal the world. And he continued, “You have the power to create great change… the ability to transform,” he repeated, “and you also have the responsibility. You must do this. You must. Now is the time.”
Suddenly the elder seemed to lose interest in the conversation. Picking up the coconut shell, he started to wander off toward the trees. But just as he was leaving he said one last thing, almost under this breath. I looked anxiously at Paco. After hearing all this great information about myself I really wanted to know – or my ego wanted to know – the elder’s parting words.
The interpreter hesitated for a second, and while looking down at the earth beneath my feet, he gave me the final revelation: “You have great power to transform yourself and the world,” he said. “Just like everybody else.”
What! Just like everybody else?!
For a second I was shocked by this, and my ego was so disappointed. But as I thought about it, I began to understand. The elder was saying that each of us has incredible potential. Very literally, we all have great abilities. Each of us has the power to transform ourselves, and in doing so, the world. And with this ability, comes a responsibility.
I'll never forget that fun and thought-provoking equinox day in the shadows of the Pyramid of Kulkulkan, nor will I ever forget the insightful lessons I learned from my new friend, the Mayan Elder. As I headed off in the direction of Black Mesa for a visit with Hopi wisdom keepers, I had the profound feeling that yes, we are all here for a very important reason... one much deeper and higher than most would allow themselves to perceive.Suffice it to say, today more than ever, I believe that we cannot settle for unhealthy, mediocre lives; in fact, to do so may very well be the biggest mistake we could ever make. We are clearly made for something much more than that. And perhaps it is time to wake up and begin to truly live as if that were so. I believe we must make the decision individually and collectively to live up to our greatest spiritual potential. Because yes, we have important work to do (on ourselves). And now is the time.

Bill, Thank you for writing this. It is inspirational to me that you have a strong sense of deep meaning for life and purpose. As I get often wrapped up in the mundane aspects of daily life, it is easy to forget to continually ask ourselves "What is our purpose here?" You ask yourself the deep questions of life and pursue the answers to those questions with vigor. I applaude you for that. I wish I did the same with regularity! I am printing this article to re-read weekly. I know it will help me keep focus and perspective on what is truly important in this life!....Scott
every time I read this I understand more. Thank you.
Bill these words still speak to me today as they did when you first shared them.Thank You for all you do to guide us to our God Given potential and purpose. ~Dave
Mr. Phillips, Bill: I just want to take this opportunity to say "thank you." You and all of the transformation group are such an inspiration to my son Shawn Drewry. Thank you ever so kindly for your encouragement. May God ever bless all of you. Katherine Drewry Perez
Bill, It is refreshing to see someone who has accomplished alot and become "wealthy" going into the world to experience it and using their wealth to benefit other people and/or better themselves or their experience. I see alot of cars bought or new clothes or surgical enhancement in the celebrities and affluent around us. These things mean little to me, to see someone instead spend their time and money on understanding and exploration is a heartening experience. We can learn so much from other cultures, yet we as a society expect to go away from home to stay in hotels with western style luxeries and speak with people who speak english and eat big macs. The world is becoming smaller and more negotiable to travel we need to use this not to make everyone the same but to relish the differences!
I interperted his message to be that the God within all of us is the ability to change from our souls, whatever you call itl It's fine. It can give us courage, and from that courage, we can make the world a better place to live. It's the journey that counts. Way too many people give up too soon which makes me sad sometime.
"Great potential" and "the power to create change". WOW! If we only knew the power that we have over our own lives and the affect our lives have on others. This is great! You really have me thinking. Thanks! Linda
The elder answered without hesitating. “You have come here for an important reason. You have great potential. You have the power to create change... the ability to transform.” I love this section. I love traveling and have had many opportunities to see sights that I never dreamed I would be able to see. As I ponder my life experiences, learning from them I begin to glimpse the power that I've rec'd since meeting you the first time 2 years ago and beginning my own transformation. Not a day goes by that I don't look at my new self and say, WOW! I couldn't have done that before. I feel my new power.
Bill, I loved this story when you told it last year and am very happy to read it again and now have it in writing. It's a great reminder that there is greatness within each and everyone of us, and we all have our own purpose and journey. We must all learn to listen to our inner voice and wisdom and to follow our intuition. True happiness comes from within. Thank you so much for sharing this. May you be blessed in all that you do. Niamh
Wow, that sounds like it was a very humbling yet transforming moment. I am so glad that you have used your many opportunities to travel as a way to explore new cultures and gain appreciation for what they can contribute to life. I fear that too many people, especially in Western culture, gravitate toward things that just feed into their current stereotypes, or just stay on the well-beaten Americanized path.~Andrea ~~~Psalm 103~~~
Thanks for sharing that experience with us Bill. I loved reading it. I felt myself lost in your words and almost sharing the experience with you. I sometimes feel like I have so much to give the world but don't know how to do it. I really admire you! sandra
Powerful Bill- I love how you touch upon 'truth" and put us in the position to ponder and meditate.
What an amazing story or your journey for truth. It's amazing that you wondered through different countries only to encounter the Mayan at the end. Had you met the elder at the beginning of the journey, the rest may not have seemed as spiritual. It seems like you started at the beginning and you were built up to where you would find your own truth. I really loved taking this travel with you. I think you should write a book on this travel alone. I'm sure everyone would be interested in hearing the details.
Bill, words cannot describe what I felt reading this post.... .....an etheric ((((hug)))) ...a lump in my throat ....see? no words.... (((((humble hugs to you and EVERYONE))))))
The difference between those who choose to use this knowledge and those who don't is this community. We've all made the decision to transform and accept this as our destiny. The journey is long, the road weathered and the destination unknown. All we know is that we are on this journey together and their is definite enlightenment at the end. Because isn't every transformation a journey, and is it not true that you do not truly know the outcome of it until you reach it? Visualise where you're going but don't be too surprised when you get there and it exceeds your own expectations. Much love and thanks for this wonderful story.
I loved reading the story! My husband and I went to Chichen Itza on our honeymoon. It IS surreal. I remember climbing up the huge pyramid and being so afraid, because the steps were so narrow. And at the top feeling a sense of weightlessness and fear of falling at the same time. There were children there climbing on the pyramid like it was a play yard and I was afraid that they would fall. But they didn't. I have come to realize that all the things I am afraid of have been keeping me from enjoying the beauty of life and even harming me. We all know that if you walk a tight rope wire and are not confident you shake and lose your balance and fall. Well, I have been doing that for a long time. I am ready to make an inner change and let my fears go to God. Thank you for sharing, Bill. It helped me to see the importance of what I am doing. Not just for me, but for others. -Sarah
Thanks for sharing so much of your self with us - very inspiring.
I love how you heard the call and dropped everything and went. That is so rare. By responding you have helped to change countless lives. Thank you for being such a wonderful example for us all. Sara
It makes more sense to me now.Bill, your energy portrays you. And when listening to you on the radio, during those times when you lower your voice, speaking softly with conviction and love,a special energy is carried and entering into my heart.(I wonder if others feel that too?) and suddenly hope of complete emancipation from attachments(that hold me back), that hope becomes realized.
Bill: Thank you for taking me with you to those ruins and to the shaman with your story I did feel that you brought all of us with you. Your story makes me realize that we all have these moments of enlightenment everyday! The key is to Listen to what is being said to you, listen to what your mind and body are saying to you. Appreciate what you have and focus on what it is you want in your life, relationships and health. Pay attention to what the universe is saying to you in your surroundings and the people that it brings into your life. Everything is brought forth for a reason all that is needed is for us to pay attention, reflect, question, and know it is a lesson to learn from. Thanks for the forum and the opportunity to transform..Roman
Bill, how true!!! I have seen the Mayan ruins myself and it is life transforming. I love your story. The greatest lesson I learned from it is to be humble. I am so blessed to know that someone as wonderfu as you can still be humbled. I thank you for all you do!!, God Bless you, Mona
Mr. Phillips! Thanks for sharing this; I wanted to know more details about your spiritual journey. I'm sure I'll learn even more later! Wow. That season was probably the most special time of your life! It must've been an absolute pleasure - and I'm sure you felt blessed and so fortunate - to be able to simply give yourself 100% in an undistracted way to seek out Truth and travel wherever you felt you should to find it. This is the pure heart of a man who is hungry for Truth. God rewards such people. Stay hungry and humble (pride blinds us) and you'll always see more & more and be fed more and more... which will give you even MORE of an appetite to know more still. :) . . . . . . . . . . . . . I read this after midnite going into my b-day and 1st day for my challenge (June 29). I laughed when I got to the ego-deflation part. How funny and so true how we feel sometimes when we realize we weren't the absolute special ONE and ONLY to accomplish a mission; but we come full circle when we realize that we have responded to Life and Truth in a Way that makes us even that much MORE special, because so many others CHOOSE not to obey... or worse, don't care enough to ask, seek and knock in order to be given more, find more and cross the thresholds of Divine Opportunities. . . . . . . . . . . . It is written that "many are called, but few are chosen." Guess who gets chosen??? They are the ones who RESPOND to the CALL!!!! God does not show favoritism; but He favors those who respond favorably to Him! I believe it is your heart to do so! I AM glad! . . . . . . . Wil
Bill thank you for sharing your story and experience!!! You have very clearly made me realize over the course of 18 weeks that there is so much more to life than just the physical body I have been given. With this realization smacking me in the face again, I have always know this but just ignored it, I have spent so much more time reading my Bible, God's Holy Word and feeling so much more alive in Jesus than ever before. From this I have been able to be a better help to my children, husband, family, friends, students, co-workers, and everyone I meet and I can't thank you enough for that. You have redirected me to where I need to be so this one little person can try her best to shine a little of God's love into the world. Thanks again for this. Katie
I have happy tears, Bill. I admire your spiritual journey and I really enjoyed hearing your lesson. I remember when my Dad told me you were leaving EAS and I felt kind of sad because it was your company that you created and put so much of your life into it. I have always had challenges with change. I am so happy to see you following your path and creating a community for many to transform. You are full of ideas and you will never stop striving because YOU actually are a leader and a trailblazer. Thank you for this T.com !
Amazing story. I have shared this with my daughter. It is so very true. God is with us all. We can transform, it we are willing to accept it. Carmen :~)
Thank you for being so transparent with all of us on your journey and sharing what you learn in your travels and spiritual walk. We are all responsible for changing and helping in this world. Blessings to you - Berni
Thanks for being there and sharing the moment with us. Wow. If I can help 1, 2 or even hundreds of folks, wouldn't that be something? Hmmm. Gotta do more. Peace. steve
Bill, Thank you for sharing this in the written word...I know you shared the story with us at the TN-BFL event last year and it was as powerful here as it was there that day.....the line: "Just like everyone else" hits me hard each time I recall your story.....thanks again, ~ Pete
Bill I loved this and what a great lesson we can all learn from this. Each one of us is special...we each have to power of the universe inside us and through this power can affect massive change upon the world. I am always amazed by how clearly you write and how you present issues with pin-point precision. Funny, this reminds me of a joke I heard a comedian tell one time...you are special...just like everyone else..........Julie

Bill, thank you for sharing this story! 15 yeas ago I knew I belonged in a field to help people; to guide them. But I ended up in corporate America. As I have grown through my first transformation I re-discovered my true passion in life and am pursuing it and hope to quit my corporate job within 2 years. What really hit me in your post was “You have come here for an important reason. You have great potential. You have the power to create change... the ability to transform.” What powerful words those are. And I believe those words are true for me and all of us here at t.com. Thank you for providing a forum for us transformers to share our journeys, to support each other and to learn to "pay it forward". --Vicki
Bill, thanks for sharing this story. It's a good one. Interesting that the final sentence was spoken so quietly and nonchallantly as the Mayan elder was leaving. Glad you were inquisitive enough to inquire about the translation. Then you got the 'real' message not just something to soothe the ego. Many people would have missed that part while being full of themselves. I bet we all miss out on lots of the 'real messages' God sends our way by being full of ourselves. Thanks for sharing - I'll try to listen more to hear His voice.
Bill I find that I keep coming back here to read the message over and over in this blog, there is a tangible energy for me in what you wrote and I connect with the music and then read what others have written to you. We really all do have so much to teach one another and I feel fortunate to have found Transformation.
I love reading your stories. I fell in love with your teachings and ideas years ago when I first read BFL. When I listened to your own words on the CD, I felt like your intentions to help people were much deeper than I had imagined just from reading your book. I have never before really had a role model; I just did my own thing. However, you are an inspiration; you are a true hero to do as much as you do for everyone else. This really has deepened my appreciation and understanding of your intentions. It's remarkable how you have really searched around the world for this life changing, spiritual transformation. The knowledge that you have gained and shared has enriched all of our lives. THANK YOU for all that you do, I sincerely mean this. -Brandi
Its sooooo hard to not be affected by our Ego as its the very vessel that brought us to the place we need to be, to hear, to SEE. Good stuff Bill and like your determination to "stop" your life and "step off" to seek. Thanks for sharing.
Bill - this is such a touching story, a part of your life that you have given us. I have heard it said that "TO WHOM A LOT IS GIVEN, A LOT IS EXPECTED." Bill, in your life you have been blessed in so many ways. Financially, physically and spiritually, and most people keep these blessings to themselves. But you give back in so many ways to not only everyone here, but everyone here then pays it forward. What we learn from your experiences in your life. We as a community grow. Thank you so much for all you do and your ability to touch peoples lives.
Wow, what a fantastic journey around the world you went on....Now I get that there is an even deeper meaning to the naming of the website - good for you Bill! I was a little hesitant to come over here because I don't believe in organised religion, but I do believe in the power within and that I am much more than this body - awesome!
Wow this was great to read. You also have a great taste in music. B-Tribe, Bass 305 among other artists. When will you be using something from Deep Breakfast by Ray Lynch? I would love to borrow your ipod.
wow!!!!!!! thank you thank you thank you, Bill. the power to transform, just like everybody else.... I love it. thank you for creating a powerful place that feels like home. what an incredible gift transformation.com is to my life.
Bill, what a wonderful blog! It reminded me of one of my favorite Indigo Girls songs...."Closer To Fine"...with these lyrics............ I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain There's more than one answer to these questions pointing me in crooked line The less I seek my source for some definitive The closer I am to fine. ........... I think your post shows that there are many routes to happiness....to spirituality...to finding peace. And each culture has it's own path. But, we really don't have to search very far to find it...just dig deep within ourselves. Thanks for sharing your wonderful story...~Terry~
The message and vision of the Mayan Elder that day in the Yucatan----stunning and powerful! It is exciting to see it come to life through TRANSFORMATION and everyone here!
Funny how we search the world and read countless books to find that the answer is within.
Bill.. I enjoyed reading this and even felt the disappointed ego! It's a great lesson and it's quite encouraging to know that every and ANY ONE of us has the opportunity to make a positive difference in this World. I am drawn in to your stories.. you tell them so well. Thank you for nourishing my spirit :) ~Kathleen
When you told us this story on last year's cruise it made such a huge impact on us all - Niamh and I discussed it on and off for days. Thank you for sharing it here, my friend. Now is indeed the time for us all to help heal the world ... the power to do this resides in us all (and as we all know; with great power comes great responsibility !) Thank you for giving us the opportunity to raise our own awareness and that of those around us; for enabling us to make a diiference. :0) Paul
Bill...I am just so appreciative that you have had the journey you have had in your life and that you have made it such a mission of yours to share and teach others. It reminds me of the the proverb of giving a man a fish, or teaching a man to fish!!!!! You are a true fisher of men serving as an example of one who serves by helping lead others to the path of reaching their potential. Beautiful. What a revelation it is to know that we ALL have that power within us to transform and to be able to share that power. I am so glad I finally "get it". I am just loving and embracing my newfound gift and pray for the strength and guidance to give back what I have been given! Bless you! Love you! Keep shining~ Aimee
Bill great blog, I read it twice just in case I missed anything the first time!! I truly believe we all have a God given ability to reach other people with the talents He has given us! The true transformation is when you embrace that responsibility to help others discover their own talents and abilities!
Unbelievable stuff!! It sort of rattles your soul a little bit, and makes you realize that your spiritual life may be growing cobwebs!! It is my belief that it is time to clean the spiritual house!!
That was absolutely beautiful! Lynn

Awesome! "We all have great abilities." What a wonderful experience to have had for you. I am so blessed to be here. I really am. Thank you for this awesome read and this awesome place. The music was great too. :) Thank you so much Mr. Philips. :) I GET TO be here and I'm so happy. :) Take care. El :)
This is very inspirational to me. For as a trained archaeologist/historian I have always loved the ancient cultures and what they can teach us today. I have always for a higher reason that I had before this transformation process pondered WHY do i have this nagging at me to explore these cultures through travel there, as you did. I have always said that when I am economically able to, that I will do just that. I can almost picture myself in temple with asian monks. And finally living my dream to see the works of the Mayans in their heyday. I cried reading this, and it has truly touched me beyond use of more words. Thank you for sharing this Bill and thank you for everything you do! ~ Nic:)
Bill~ This story sums up almost exactly to the point of why I am here. See, when I first found your book, Body For Life, and I did the 12 week program, I was amazed with my results. And I was just enamored by you. You were pure genius, in fantastic shape, and damn it I wanted TO BE LIKE YOU. Well, fast forward several years, I had slipped, my life felt like it was crumbling, and I wasn't sure what to do with myself. I knew that I had to get back up on my feet. I remember sitting around and thinking about people such as yourself, or Arnold, or even Terrell Davis... What is it that these people have that I missed out on? Besides Arnold's accent, I really couldn't think of anything. And it's about that time I had the realization that You and all these other "role models" in our lives are just people. Terrell Davis even points that out in his autobiography. He came from a small highschool in Cali, made his way into college football, just like me, and then.. DIDN'T MAKE IT TO THE NFL UNTIL THE 6TH ROUND!!! So, I figure, They aren't blessed with anything special. I had the same stuff they had all along! Now, it's just up to me to put it to use. So, thank you Bill, for reinforcing that fact in my brain.
Thank you Bill - For your Truth and Honesty about your journey, your ego and your growth. Thank you for the mesaage that is so powerful for each and every one of us - Thank you for following your destiny and in turn helping so many others to reach theirs. The power of faith in ourselves, in or purpose is one that can at times be hard and maybe thankless on occasion - but the courage to push through barriers, to learn lessons from within and to remain humble and open is a quality that I admire deeply. Again my thanks, to you and to eveyone who has assisted you in your journey - as they have touched my life as well and in turn I hope that I will have the courage to pass it on. Your in Love and Light - Gratitude and Faith - Jaki (aka - sunlightandshadows) :)
WOW- In Nov. we had just returned from a hoiday trip that included at trip to Chichen Itza which I meditated and ask for guidance in MY LIFE. and when we returned home I FOUND THIS SITE. never put the two things together til I read your story. AMAZING how Our Lord works. Thankx and PRaise to Him above. For He sent me here to meet you. Take Care and GOD BLess. Your T. friend Kathi
I love reading your writings! You are such a great story teller and your words are deep and profound. This blog has touched me probably more than any others though. I believe that I too am here for a reason, to make a differnce, to impact others and their lives....Now is the time!!! So powerful when we realize that we all have this potential! Beautiful, thank you for sharing! Lesley
GREAT blog, Bill! Seriously, one of the best! I was torn between these two images I have of you. First, there's our fearless leader that some (okay, ME) put on a pedestal. Then, there's this guy, Bill, an everyman who has had to learn it all, sometimes the hard way, just like the rest of us. The beauty of this post was seeing that we are ALL like that. We are all leaders with the responsibility to change the world and we all have to do the work to learn the lessons to be able to do that. It's like an oxymoron: Everyman Leader and Student Teacher. Thank you for sharing how you can be both humbled and lifted by the same experience...you do that for me more often than you probably know. Love you, Kat
Bill ~ I agree with you wholeheartedly, We all have this within us...we make the choice to change for me....I needed to get rid of the old shell of who I was and while God carried me on this path he set me down Jan 4th and let me work through what I needed towork through over the 18 week transformation so we could walk together hand in hand on this amazing path that he has set out for me...I wake up everday excited about what will be revealed to me and my vision becomes clearer what I am going to accomplish....I have become the change and I am going to change others by my example...I love Native American Wisdom!!! Thank you for sharing this Bill!!! ~ Kim
Hi Bill. I very much enjoyed reading this. Beth
Bill, Thanks for sharing..you lead by example and your words are simple and true. I think you have always had these insights...as far back as muscle media in 2000 you were putting together messages that went far beyond improving the body...I think you have learnt alot over the years and more importantly you are sharing that knowledge with the T Community....all credit to you.
Beautiful pictures and wonderful message thank you.
MMMMM. Lovely. We need to hear both messages, don't we? You have a special purpose, unique and special and great. And so does everyone else. You are the beloved center of the universe...just like everyone else. What I really appreciate very much, because I am trying to learn it, is your ability to ASK the Question. That's what brought the learning. You asked.
Bill, thank you for sharing your amazing experience with us. Through your experiences you have shared with us and your teachings my life is transforming and I cant thank you enough. - Tyson
Bill That was such fun story to read! I could actually feel the ego's disappointment at the "just like everybody else"! But the last paragraph is the amazing part. I'm goign to put that on walls, mirrors, my car, everywhere I will see it every day! Thank you. breeze
"Just like everybody else!" I love it, how true. Thanks Bill Donn
Bill, This is very interesting and inspririg, we all have special gifts, I know personally if I want to be truly successful to my full potential I have to change my lifestyle and bad habits. Thanks for everything that you do. much love Damon
I loved this lesson. We were all born with greatness. It is inherent in our creation. We just need to be inpired to look for it! Thank you for the inspiration. Leslie
Bill You have had such an interesting life! Thank you so much for sharing this story. You are so humble. I thank you for this much needed inspiration today. Much love, Jennifer
That deep meditative state he went into reminds me of the scripture: Be still and KNOW that I am God. I was 'still' the other day and was amazed how very difficult it is to listen for the Spirit within to speak. He does, but we aren't always listening. Our minds are too busy or we're too uncomfortable to just be quiet and wait! Thanks for the reminder. It's up to each one of us to make a difference...not only in our own lives, but in the lives of those around us.
I had to read and listen again this was very evcompassing to my thoughts yesterday. We have to listen carefully for the call and the words of wisdom that are passed from generation to generation are so important to grow our awareness of knowledge synergistically, Exponentially!!! The wisdom of the ages cannot be lost. 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 mouth what does that tell us about how we are to give and receive information =) ~Dave
Bill, this post moved me to the core. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I felt the message so strongly in your story - the time is now for all of to do what we can. We were all given gifts from the Devine and it is our calling and responsibility to use what we were given to help bring this world to a new level of consciousness. Thank you of reminding me of this very important message and thank you for creating this community to facilitate change in the world, Love, ~Anya
Thank you Bill. Again. David
Hi Bill, Thank you for taking the time and putting all the care you did into writing and posting this blog entry. What an amazing story and wonderful adventure. I especially appreciate your respectful and honorable response towards another human being. Having lived in Saudi Arabia and traveled all over the world, I have had the privilege of experiencing many different religions, cultures and customs. No matter how far into the bush you go in Africa or Australia, whether it is at the top of the Eiffel Tower or the Leaning Tower of Pizza, the universal language of sincere respect and a warm smile is understood. I loved that the most. “The true character of a person is seen by now he treats someone who can not benefit him in anyway. Share kindness and respect wherever you go, use words only when necessary.” Warm Regards, Lisa
Bill - this was a wonderful read with so much for us to learn in it. As I was reading this blog, I began to understand that even with the changes that I have made over the last 19 weeks, even with the inner happiness that I am now feeling, even with me looking at my life differently, more positively and with much more enthusiasm, I have much left to do and learn. There is so much out there that I can do to make the world a better place even if just a little at a time. I am also learning that not only CAN I do it but it is my Responsibility to do it. I thank you so much for the changes that you have helped to ignite in me and my family and for the difference that you are making in this world. ---Kerri---
Bill, I have to say, I thought you "cashed out" and left us after you sold EAS. But what you have brought back is a new spiritual dimension essential to this process. I'm excited to add this level of self-examination to my challene.
Amazing! Thank you for sharing this with us. I had just turned off my media player and was reading when this dreamy, Indian, chanting type music started and I kept wondering where it was coming from. I knew it wasn't part of the music I had dowloaded to my Media Player and was wondering if I was having a spiritual experience of my own while reading your words. It wasn't until I got to the very end that I saw it was part of your post. Again, thank you for being bigger than yourself and for listening when God spoke and then having the courage to act on that voice...be it from within or the message God implanted in your heart and head to spread this "transformation."
Hi Bill, Loved reading this. After reading this I am working to change my priorities and the imbalance within my own nature. You are such an incredible man and I am a better person for just knowing of you and learning from your teachings- Much Love Liz
Thank you for sharing. It is so true!
Dear Bill, Wow... I just loved this post. This is definitely an AHA moment for me. I have been struggling lately with transformation and what I am doing wrong. This part especially spoke to me: “Change to restore truth. To heal the imbalance between man and nature, and the imbalance within man’s own nature.” . It's just that simple... What a neat, neat post. I think a new goal for myself (besides my internal transformation) is to visit these Mayan ruins. Wow... wow.. wow.. Thank you for sharing your personal spiritual journey. Edie
Nice! Thanks for sharing. Love and Hugs, Ashley
As I was reading your blog it reminded me of the story of someone going out to "find" happiness. They searched the world over and never found it until they returned home. Sort of like Dorothy in the Wizzard of Oz...It Was There All Along you just had to discover it! So the possiblity for change, greatness, add whatever applies to you...lies inside us and I believe that thru God and by helping others we can do anything Thank you for sharing this and reminding us that we do have the power to make the changes we need to make
This is such a great lesson for all of us.. How we look at things from one point of view only to realize it is really something completely different...those precious aha moments. Thank you for encouraging us...sharing your journey here...allowing us to grow beside you in spirit. God has blessed you with an amazing ability to touch so many lives and you give us the opportunity to do the same. Your humility ...your humanness is what is so special about you. I am so thankful for the gift of this site...at this time in my life...you have given me a new purpose...and a new passion...and I couldn't be happier.... I want the same for everyone here. ~~~~~Susan
Bill - I love your honest, plain salt of the earth way of speaking. It provides me with a kind of real communion with the basic truths such as as the one you have just shared. I too have traveled many of the same places and sacred sites of which you speak, including Chichen Itza. But have not gathered within myself in the same way as you. My ego has been the lead horse of my journey and has missed so much of what you have beautifully captured and relayed here. For the past 3 years I have been on a spiritual sabbatical after living 22 years as a close knit member of a spiritual community on call 24/7. Your Transformation program has re-sparked my desire and willing to go deeper and work to bring out the better parts of my being...the God parts. I am immensely thankful to you for your courage, insight, ability to write, your commitment and dedication to being your own change and thus inspiring so many others to do the same. My heart is full of love for you, this community, and many others. ~Brooke
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Your storytelling make me feel like I was there with you during your visit. Tara
This was just beautiful. You continue to amaze me Bill. These people have hope. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Anita
Thanks for sharing Bill! We can all contribute to making the world a greater place. By changing on a personal level we can implement change on a global level. I believe in your crusade. Count me in! - Colin
Thank you, Bill, for writing this particular blog! It has provided some healing for an old wound of mine. For years I've known I've had certain gifts and talents that I feel GOD wants me to use for the benefit others. When I listen to Him, I always hear, "Use your gifts!" but I usually tell myself, "What can one, insignificant person like me do? Sure, I'll try, but I won't expect anything I do to make a difference of any import." Your blog has hit that wound right in the centre like a healing balm. Those words - “You have great power to transform yourself and the world... Just like everybody else!” - are what struck me the most. It helped me consider the possibility that maybe what I do can make a difference, and benefit others. This very issue was, providentially, reinforced for me today when I discovered some of the positive comments that had been left on my profile pictures. Thank you for being such a willing vehicle for His voice - after all, those words were from GOD, FOR ALL OF US. God Bless & Take care - I hope to do you proud during this transformation – Mark.
That was really an awesome adventure. That would make for a really great Champions gathering. Troy
Bill, It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter. Certainly your quest for truth (to search out a matter) has led you to empower others with the inspiration to embrace transformation and unveil the creative nature(God) within themselves. Great to walk with those who have found JOY in the journey! We love you unconditionally! Your companions in the kingdom of God, Garry and Shelly
This is what I love the most about you, Bill. You are a student of life, open to new people, ideas, beliefs and methods. It also shows that you are not an egoist, since you don't believe you have all the answers already. Thank you for sharing this experience with us, for listening to the holy man and accepting your responsibility. We can all learn so much from you.
Wow! I really loved reading this, so interesting! Mexico has always been a place of "re-focus" for me. Just something about it... Thank you for sharing your adventure, and thank you for living out God's purpose for your life! What a blessing you are not only to me, but to those I hopefully will one day inspire. GREAT stuff, I just love this! ~Katy
Very insightful. It is amazing how people with almost nothing in poorer countries sometimes take the most time for themselves, unlike in the US. I learned that in Nicaragua. They literally had almost nothing, but the people were so full of joy! It was an amazing experience! Great blog!!!
Bill, Thank you for sharing your story and the beautiful music. I am blessed to sit in your shadow and experience the accompaning refreshing coolness, peace, and harmony that flows over me as I gleen from your exprience. I am so glad you have are discovering your purpose and that you have been brought to awareness that it has a great place among all of mankind. Your gifts are unique to you and, when expressed, you are gifting the world with a treasure that would not otherwise be revealed. Thank you for walking in truth and sharing it, thereby helping to fuel me me towards my destiny, as I receive your instruction. I like to resonate with the idea that just as in the wonderful tapestries, so proudly displayed in the Vatican Museum, each thread has value, a purpose, a unique hue, and is vitally important to whole. We are like the thread in the majestic tapsetry of the universe that GOD is weaving. Each one of us is a beautiful, costly, and precious thread. As we live our purpose that thread becomes stronger and more brillant in color and makes the overall tapestry more vibrant. I believe that each life that is not lived towards its potential is a broken and dulled string. Only with the support of it's neighboring strings can it remain in it's place and gain strength. The strings are interdependent upon one another; especially toward the greater goal of creating the universal masterpiece. I am blessed that you have created a place where I can come and get encouraged and inspired to live out my potential. I feel like my thread is getting dusted, washed, and strengthened so it can will be a vibrant hue as it is weaved with the threads of others. To me, GOD is the Master Artist Weaver who is making the scenic masterpiece. When it is finished, in His time, I believe I too will be able to stand back and and see "the Larger Picture." Until that time, I will seek to live my potential so my purple-ish maroon tinted gold flecked thread becomes rich with color and strong enough to help in the support of others. Blessings to you!!! and Thank you!!! Yolondo
It was so interesting to hear how you got to the place that you are. Thank you for sharing such an incredible moment with us. -- Robin
What an excellent story! Thank you for sharing this. I also love your music selection.
Bill thanks for sharing your journey because it inspires me to grow
Bill- thanks for sharing this beautiful story. What an incredible journey that must have been. I am so grateful to learn these wonderful life lessons from you. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher.
Bill this was so fun to read!! I just love what you do and write!! So true Transformation and The God within!! I love this path and the challeneges it brings!! Thanks for being you!!! You also are an incrediable writer!!.........Marty
This story was pulling at my heart as it touched in away almost like nothing else. What a beautiful & an amazing story. I am so glad that you shared it with us on t.com. I believe there is a message there for us in everything we do everyday. A week ago I walked into a shopping mall and this guy dropped, he has no pulse and I had to resussitate him, he was down for 7 minutes. Thought he was dying from a heart attack but it was something else & the feelings I were getting from this as I thought, okay their are no coincidences that I was meant to be here. Not 5 minutes earlier or 5 minutes later, but now. There was a message in that for me then. Loving you for what you do for us here on transformation, myself & my children. Thankyou Bill from my heart to yours~ Helen
What a great post Bill! Thank You!
Hi Bill! You have gotten to do something I crave doing...going to different sources of spirituality to see for yourself what resonates as true. I am sure you experienced some sort of tread that interconnects them all. I was taught that like a wheel, all the spokes interconnect in the center, so it doesn't matter which spoke you are on, they all lead to the same source...hence we can all have different beliefs, yet they are all based in the same "That" be it God, Goddess, Jesus, Buddha, etc. I thank you for sharing this experience, as we truely need that healing of mind body & spirit to happen. I think our planet will be healthier as we fellow humanbeings become healthier & in balance. Blessings, Laurel
Thank you, Bill for the inspiring adventure story. I really needed it. Today, I was feeling scattered, feeling off my goals and plan for transformation. "Just like everyone else", renewed my hope. Funny how things come to you when you need them. Keep the inspiring stories coming. Thank you so much!--bmdm
Bill, thank you for sharing such a great story of love and wisdom. It is a nice pointer that guides us, as we search for meaning and our purpose (our Ikigai) in Life . It is also a nice reminder that we All are spiritual beings with great capacity and great potential, although some of us need more help than others to get to uncover that fact. The message is clear and simple. That doesn’t mean it’s easy to apply. Maybe our limiting believes and self excuses convince us that it is not possible for that Universal Wisdom to be inside of us. On the other hand, I believe that we need to be humble and sometimes let others reveal that knowledge for us, or let others help us to tap on to that Wisdom. From the bottom of my heart, I accept that call to Be The Change and contribute to the Transformation. A warm Spiritual hug from me to you and everyone in this beautiful T.com community – Yoly (Ikigai)
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story Bill. It's funny, only a couple of hours ago I was listening one of your podcasts and you were talking about how you traveled the world trying to learn about these other pieces of the puzzle. I started thinking how greeat it would be to hear about some of your expirences from your travels. And lo and behold here is an amazing, inspiring, and empowering story right from those travels. I also enjoyed the pictures. Again thank you for sharing. :)
Bill, I wanted to thank you for letting me be a part of your life. I was one of those people that you talk about in the beginning of your story, thank you for opening up the way for me to "Be the Change" My nickname in High School was Yoda because I was so short. Thanks for being you. Cheri
Bill....I don't know if you really are like everyone else. I do know that I was one of those 20 something year olds back in the 90's who really held onto your every word. I bought into all of the marketing and body driven changes you speak of here. I was seeking changes that could only come from the inside. I think I was one of those guys that was never happy no matter what physical results I saw....It was never enough. I am so glad you changed things up and found the real path...and shared it with me. I don't think I would have really payed attention had this information been presented by someone else....I am grateful for what you do and thankful to be a part of it. Thanks! Chris G.
Bill this is great stuff!! There are no coincidences...no accidents. God put each and every one of us here for a specific and powerful purpose. We need only to follow the Spirits leading and do His will for our lives. Isn't it exciting to know that we have within us such great power!!! ~ Nichole
Oh, Bill, my heart was filled with emotion as I read this. I am humbled, grafeful and love-filled to be part of this sacred mission for change NOW. Thank you for sharing this message and experience with us. With love and gratitude, Jackie
Bill, it sounds like you had a very deep and powerful and humbling experience, one that you were eager to be part of, one that has brought enlightenment to you and now to us. The elder seems like a man who sought wisdom and contemplated his learning. Thanks for sharing! Brian
WOW!! Thank you for sharing that with us. As you tell your story, I felt as if I were right there with you!! What a wonderful experience that had to be for you. Thank you!!! Jenny
Thanks for sharing your life with us Bill...you easily could be investing your life doing many other things...yet, you choose this community! I am honored to be a student of yours and I look forward to the journey continuing...and continuing!!
All I can say is "WOW!" The simple statement stated simply which gives us all the potential, the promise of things to come, IF we step up to the plate and just do it! What a great lesson. I will never forget this. Thank you, Bill! WoW!!
Bill - Being new to the platform you have created, I enjoyed your humility. In addition, thankful for your desire to help change the world into a realization that as individuals, we possess the same ability. I like listining to Joyce Meyer and today she shared how our being is mostly spiritual and not what we know as purely human. We are hear but for a short time and have a purpose to fulfill - what I also consider the inner transformation so that we may more completly be a blessing to others. Thanks again for being you! Chris Cousin
To live up to our greatest spiritual potential! Bill I think anything less than this is mediocrity when through our Transformation journey we learn so much about "the God within". I have not been living up to my greatest spiritual potential. When you wrote assignment 11 it changed my whole life experience. I felt the same way when I read this blog last night and have taken the night to put my thoughts into words. I see....I SEE what has been missing for me these past many weeks. I have been concentrating on the trials and tribulations of life rather than accepting, overcoming and learning from them. I have work to do! What you wrote ignited something in my soul ...today is different. I can Transform those things about me and about my life that I need to to restore truth and to restore the balance within my nature. Like I said TODAY IS DIFFERENT!! Thank you for once again being the catalyst for CHANGE! Something tells me that you already knew all of this about me and on a large scale although you wrote this for the entire community and anyone who will read it in the future, The fact that you are changing the world ONE PERSON at a time tells me that on a small scale that this was also written just for me. What you are doing touches the entire community and it changes peoples lives one by one.... I know you don't need thanks... true thanks is a Shane who learns and CHANGES!
Absolutely Phenominal! So captivating, inspiring and full of HOPE, BELIEF and FAITH!! The places I have been, even within myself, don't amount to the beauty in this world that I have yet to see and experience! Thank you for bringing this story, perspective and principles to those of us here who long to read your words, guidance and continued inspiration! Thank you, thank you, thank you Mr. Bill Phillips! ((((((HUGS)))))))))))
Bill I do a guided meditation with children I work with and out of all the things I do with them this is there favorite and they said weeks into my teachings that the still use it at night to help them relax and fall asleep. They just go into themselves and imagine a safe, place they want to be and create it in their mind. I love meditation. Mona
Bill - I go back and forth between envy and gratitude! I envy the journey you've made and all that you've been able to experience! I'm also very grateful that you share it all in such a way that we can all experience some of it, as well as be motivated to experience the same things first hand - I will experience these same things! Thank you for sharing all of this so openly. Peace and grace be with you.
Bill, This is an amazing story! I enjoyed reading every word..it took me there with you. I can only imagine the power of the silence and the intrigue of every word! Thank you so much for sharing this part of your life! Janice
WOW. It is amazing, your personal life experience. Thank you for sharing. I like the part where you 'heard' your ego talking. That is transformation from the deepest level. This site is HUGE to me. It is exactly what I was seeking, others that are on the same journey as I (thorough, all encompassing). I am a member of AA, and it was the starting point to a sober lifestyle. That fellowship literally saved my life. But to be honest, I knew there was much, much more to the overall transformation I was seeking, and needed, and wanted. T.com hits it all. It is the total transformation. Many people get sober in AA, but some still smoke, and are overweight and out of shape, or get stuck with no movement forward. T.com makes me dig farther for the solution to what made me end up where I ended up in the first place. The drink was but a symptom. Serenity, Joy and Peace from my soul are coming to the surface. My personality is aligning with my soul. That is a beautiful thing! Thanks, Bill. You ROCK! You did start another big movement, and you deserve the limelight! Dwell in it. Love, Peace, Joy, Cara
Bill, the God is Within!!! Thank you for sharing this, and thanks for sharing with us your journey!!! This is the exact reason I am hear today following you and your teachings because it is what I believe in. I believe in myself, I believe in others, and I believe someone is watching over us at all times and good things do come to good people. You are one of those good people who share, give and encourage others--I am so greateful to know you and I cannot wait until October to finally meet you in person. You have changed my life forever, and I am greatefull for that!!! You are a fantastic writer---Keep it up!!! And THANKS again for being YOU!!!! Thank you, Brain
You have come here for an important reason. You have great potential. You have the power to create change... the ability to transform.” Anyone can do it.....thank you for sharing these life experiences and reiterating that we can all do amazing things. Have a great week
The Christian Faith teaches us that God Himself resides in all of those who accept Him. He is there to help us through all of lifes trials and tribulations and bring us to our purpose in life that He has assigned you to. Some find their purpose early in life, so later in life, some fight with God, resisting what you are to become and the reason He made you. Yes we all want to please ourselves and not please God. It's the internal struggle we have with God over the control of our destiny. We want to drive our own lives instead of following His lead. When we surrender our will and egoic nature to the one who has the Universe in His hands we become waht he wants us to be and our liives then flow with blessings and joy. Take it from someone who has fought with God..Life becomes magnificient when you just give the control to God...God is right there with you in all things. Lean on Him and learn to allow Him to lead you to that place that is so special...That place is LOVE...
Bill, Thanks for reminding me this morning that I have the power to change myself, make a difference in the lives of others and in the world in which we live. Beautifully written! Thanks for sharing this powerful insight with us. Greg
Thank you Bill. I really enjoyed reading this blog!Connecting with your purpose in life and reaching out to other loving spirits and encourage more love and peace is the most powerful feeling EVER! The work of the heart and soul is infinite....and I am ever so grateful for the power of LOVE and the chance to connect with this purpose daily! Thank you again, xoxo heidi
Good Morning Bill: You are doing a great justice to all of your reader's by reminding us all that we all have God powers within us. No exceptions - everyone is created from the same source. I believe we are born knowing this however, we tend to lose this precious insight as we live the day-to-day life of human existence. By you following your bliss and listening to your higher intuition you will help reduce the ratio of non-believers to believers. With each individual and personal challenge that is completed, more and more will come to understand and to know that they too, have been blessed with all the tools and inherent resources they need to live a truly successful life. (What a gift!) Thank you for your courage as I trust it must not always be easy for you to keep giving so selflessly. The pressures of continual mentoring at the level for which you do must be challenging at times. Please take comfort in knowing that many lives will be improved or even saved because you have listened and followed the instructions of what your life's mission is. My life has, is and will continue to get better and better due in large part to your teachings and faith in all of us here at T.Comm. From the bottom of my ever-expanding heart - Thank you, thank you, thank you.
There are many things I appreciate about you Bill and reading this blog highlighted many of them. I appreciate your humbleness to admit when your ego steps in and tries to "feel special". What touches me in a true way is your willingness to acknowledge this aspect and yet move beyond it. Your spirit's genuine desire to lead, inspire, and support others in their transformation is something we share in common. On a continueum you are further along in living this path and I am inspired by your living example. We are all called differently yet each of us has such an intregal part to play. In order to fully accomplish all we came to do we must first be willing to "transform" and move through our lower nature. Your teachings create a path for souls to follow to begin that process. Each of us has the responsibility to continue to educate ourselves and reach toward what truly supports us in the highest sense. I believe we have guidance and support from the world of Spirit and when we are ready to listen and follow our lives begin to align to the truth. Since I have found this site I have been blessed with a community of souls who's intention is to encourage and support me in healing my body and my mind. It has also provided me a safe place to express my fears, doubts, and disappointments without judgment. I als get to shine my soul's light and love in a way that is safe and received in the nature for which it is given, a pure intent to support. In addition through the video storiesI have been priveleged to be touched by other's journey's in a way that would not ever be possible without your time, effort, and resources . All this love, support, teachings, and inspiration has touched and transformed my life because of your "yes" to your life. My greatest hope is that my journey will inspire, encourage, and lead others toward finding and living their authentic life as you have. Many blessings, Roberta
Thank you so much for sharing. The God is within! Yep! -Angela
Thank you for sending this insight Bill. My brother and I have been sharing insights like this for a while, He is actually persuing a school in Washington State, that teaches on a lot of the same concept as Myan beliefs. I know of several books if anyone, including yourself, are interested in reading more on this type of spirituality. It certianly takes an open mind to accept a message like that Bill. Thank you for sharing it with us........ Best Regards, Dorie
So glad you are sharing your journey with the world. I am always pulled by your experiences. I haven't been to ancient Mayan cultures, but I have felt the God-within right here in Roseville, MN. Learning that has healed me, pretty much instantly, from anxiety and depression. I am connected to God, we are not "separate"... he is not "over there somewhere." And this also reminds me how we all have that potential within us. Infact, it is imperative we all take the responsibility and act as if what we do matters, because what we do DOES matter. Each and every one of us. That used to feel like a "burden" to me, but now I feel the joy in truly Being the Change. There is joy in living a clean life, extending love, living in gratitude and meditation and prayer. Thank you for your messages. They always resonate with me on a very deep level of understanding.
Beautiful, ABSolutely Beautiful!!! Bill what an AWESOME experience that must have been to be able learn and speak to our yoda like friend! And how God spoke through him and help give you a REVELATION!!!! By the POWER of GOD WE ALL have the ability to change ourselves and ULTIMATELY CHANGE THE WORLD. It's my prayer that everyone of US in this awesome community will accept this message to carry out your REVELATION and your VISION! Because it CAN be done and it WILL be done on earth as it is in HEAVEN!!!! Bill your awesome and I'm thanking GOD for you today my friend!!! Love, Brad
Bill - Thanks for sharing your experience. This is so cool.... to know I have the same power that you have! And I've never thought about it that way. Thanks for helping me understand more every day.~Debra~
Bill ~ again, the synchronicity of your thoughts keying right into where my head has been going is amazing. Thank you for your story - it reinforces what my eyes have recently opened to and that is every step we take to make ourselves physically healthier impacts the health of mother earth as well. Eating wholesome, organic foods not only purifies my system, but encourages farming practices that purifies our soil and removes toxins from the surrounding wild life. Biking to work builds muscles as well as reduces the carbon foot print you are making on the planet. It is a wonderful connection - knowing that as I get stronger, so does the planet.
“You have great power to transform yourself and the world,” he said. “Just like everybody else.” I love that quote, it goes to show no matter who you are, where you came from , what you do etc we all have the power to change. Everything we need is already inside of us we need to open our hearts. Tonia
" You have the responsibility" "You have great power to transform yourself and the world." "Now is the time" "Just like everyone else" Amazing words. Amazing responsibility. Must have rocked your world. There are so many levels of transformation. You have given us the knowledge and shown us the way. We now have the same responsibility. Just like everyone else. As we live our lives, we are all affecting change in others. Some of it is good, some is not so good. Thank you for taking the responsibility seriously and showing us the good way. I pray we all see and do.. Love to you,Lynn
Beautiful. It must be a tremendous "culture shock" to go through a journey like that and then come back to the crazy world. We are definately the culture that hasnt a clue as to what makes happiness. I am happy for you that you were able to be on top and let it all go to find the other side- the side we are all meant to know, but most will never find-or seek. You are truly blessed.
Howdy, Bill! This was a wonderful post and incredible sentiment. I've visited the very spot you did this and it is truly an incredible place (a lot more peaceful than it was portrayed in 'Apocolypto'!). Bill, I've been following you and what you've been doing for about 12 years now--and if you don't mind me saying so, I can truly SEE and FEEL the difference in you between then and now. I've always admired you (I've studied your marketing, too--GREAT stuff), but I can tell how much YOU have grown as a person through your words on this site and on T-radio. I don't know how this will be taken, but I am proud of you for who you've become and are continuing to become. Your personal Transformation has been the catalyst for this site and the profound changes we're all seeing in the folks that make this community. Thank you, Sir.
WoW! This was such an amazing guided share of your experience. You really took me there with you in my mind Bill and the wisdom seems so simple but profound. The setting and message was meant for you my friend and meant to be shared. The strength of a parting whisper sends chills through me and I literally have goose bumps right now. I had read about the Cenote Sagrado or well of sacrifice while reading of the vision of Hunac Ceel who prophecized his own rise to power after throwing himself into the well there. That area is recorded known as focal point for higher spiritual awareness. Thanks for the share and your beautiful visionary writing because you were receptive to the real message being given that day even as a parting whisper. You have listened for us to guide us my friend and I would LOVE to hear more from your travels. WoW! This journey is SO exciting. Blessings, ~Dave
Bill - Thank you so much for an uplifting story, that is sent to remind us we all have the ability to change ourselves and help transform those around us, we all have to use our spiritual gifts that God has given us. This story is one that should be shared over and over again, as we as humans need constant reminders that we all have a purpose and to not live our lives as we should is very sad. Have a beautiful and blessed week, Michelle
Bill, thank you for such a wonderful story and great teachings for all of us! I really liked the point of "responsibility"... to ourselves, our loved ones and the world! To be the best we can be is difficult, but is SO worth it in the end. Thanks again for sharing... Renelle xx
Thanks Bill for sharing your adventure - very well written and what a great message. We can all be the change and transform the world around us one person at a time. Blessings, Paul :<)
Bill as I sit and meditate this morning I have been thinking of your journey and how mine has connected me with yours and I am so grateful!!! As I read this I feel alive and connected to the God within me!! That is how you write and share!! I am praying and meditating now to this musci!! God Bless you Bill!!! Thanks so very much !!! Now to pray and meditate!! Marty
Mr. Phillips, what an excellent adventure. Man, you have been a lot of places. That experience must have been just incredible. I believe in you and this process. I believe that we do have the power to change and make a difference in others. I have seen first hand what this has done for me and my family. I know it will resonate and transcend to other as we all continue to transform. Thanks for sharing is incredible story. Shawn
That was really deep. As I was reading it the animal inside was sniffing the wind. The winds were winds of change. Just posting my Assignment 1 picture activated something inside. I know that the transformation will be worth the cost. I also know that it will cost me everything
Thank you Bill for sharing the seed ideas of transformation. My belief system hungers for the kind of knowledge you speak of. We do the work by ourselves but we are never alone.Ellen
Dear Bill, I'm almost speechless. This was beautiful, I'm so grateful that you had this experience and have shared it with me and everyone! I was just getting ready to retire to bed, what a wonderful thing to meditate on now for a few moments. Wake Up, Spiritual Potential, Now is the time...love it all! God Bless you friend, love, Lori
Bill, very interesting how your blog was dealing with some of the same issues I was contemplatin for myself in my last blog. It seems I always read or hear or experience something I need to grow in my respective situation. I used a quote that I don't remember where it came from, but it applies here, too: "God is the only one who mass produces uniqueness." Love, Juliane
Hi Bill, I loved this story. I know first hand that all this is so true. I hear people talk about how they aren't going to turn in packets because they don't feel they made a good enough physical transformation. The whole process to them over the last 18 weeks was about the "physical". I remember doing the BFL Challenges and for me, yep, all about the physical. Needless to say, they were never successful. Starting Transformation was well pretty much again, all about making a physical change. Then I started the assignments, doing the internal work. The physical took the back seat and I couldn't believe the changes taking place in my life. I suddenly held the power to create Transformation, not only in my own self, but in the lives of those around me, my children, husband and some friends. I was healing the imbalance of my nature, and I was healing the imbalance of them and their nature. My family is different now, completely, our lives are different now, completely. It has nothing to do with my physical transformation, but in the Transformation from within my heart, mind and soul. Thank you for providing me with the tools to do that. I love you and I am completely grateful for what you have given me here.
Wow! This is an amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. God has blessed each of us with beautiful gifts. Everyone of us is equipped with everything we need to make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others. Discovering our God-given potential is such an awesome journey. The spirit of God shines upon you, my friend. Much love and God's blessings, Kimberly : )
Hi Bill, I, too, have experienced Chichen Itza. Yet I have ever been able to explain all mystery behind it. What a place! (I imagine you went inside, up the stairs? Wow!!!) I appreciate all you are doing for this community. I think the group dynamic, and the support, is what has been lacking in previous attempts to change things around for me. I KNOW this is different..it's from the inside out. Many blessings! Victory 09! (Kimberly)
Bill, I love the way you brought me to Mexico with you through your words. I could almost hear the words of the Shaman and Paco, and of course I can always hear your words. Such a moving experience, thank you for sharing. Lots of Love, Wayne!
Thank you for going out in to the world and experiencing that deeper thread that ties us all together. Your transformation is among so many things, pure inspiration. Reading about your adventure in Chichen Itza with the Mayan shaman left me hungry for my own adventure. What a remarkable experience. Thank you for sharing it. Your experience with the last statement he gave to you is so powerful. Through humility you found a truth that empowered you more than anything he could have said that would have satisfied your ego. You have truely embodied this message. You have seized the opportunity it came with. And here we are, awakening to our true nature and showing the way for the world. I'm humbled and excited to be here with you, learning and living this truth. Through this modern day medium of communication, to me, you are much like that shaman.
It is amazing to me, that that throughout your own personal journey, you learn and share so freely to help change the world for the better. And, it's working! I hope to be able to share my own journey and inspire others to seek & find spiritual & physical health. One must really trust this process with their heart, mind and body. I know that this journey will not end in 18 weeks, but is the spring board to greater things for an entire lifetime. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!
Bill, What a beautiful adventure ~ and how fantastic that you've identified "the missing link." What an AHA moment I had while reading! Without this piece, the puzzle just doesn't work. Your story was such a powerful reminder that we're so much more than just our physical bodies and that we all have an urgent and important reason for being here. Thanks so much for being here right now in this time and space reality! ~ Jen
Thank you so much for writing that tonight! Today was my Day 1 on the program and so this came at just the perfect time! Amazing coincidence...maybe not. Thanks for all that you do!
Bill your funny. About your ego speaking and all. Thanks for sharing your great experience.
Powerful!...Elegant!...Simple!...We all have work to do!...Mark
That's a powerful story. I love that the man went inside himself to talk to God, because learning that God is within us has been really healing for me during my recovery because it gives me the confidence that I don't have to look outside of myself for answers, love, purity and strength...it's already inside all of us. That is so awesome that you were exposed to so many different types of spiritual practices and studies in different cultures. I can really relate to wanting to find something beyond the physical...some thing "spiritual." That's how I felt after I broke my back. I decided I really wanted to learn how to be spiritual but I did not know what it meant. I decided to go to a Unitarian church where they welcome all religions and I learned about the origins of Unitarianism and some other religions....then I just started reading and studying alot from spiritual teachers like Eckhart Tolle. I started having so many "ahah" moments and it felt so freeing and enlightening. Thanks for starting this site and sharing your experience Bill. That little man contributed to the creation of a big wave of transformation and improvement in people's lives....balancing us back with nature and our own nature, that's a cool way to describe transforming. Thanks for sharing this blog Bill!! Love you, Steph
Wow, Bill I can't even express what I feel inside of me right now. What you experience with this shaman is what I truly feel when I am in God's presence, we all have the ability to change but we must reach within ourselves and believe we can. Thank you for sharing your heartfelt experience with me and thank you for the music it is so relaxing and peaceful. Love you my friend. ~jerome
LOVE it!!!! Thank you so much for shaing this incredible chapter in your journey. Here's to "everybody else"! May we all feel the urgency to be the change right where we are every day and realize the power within our own hearts.
Bill, that was an amazing story! It gave me CHILLS reading it! I would love to experience the meditation like you did in that group. You described it very well and the music just made it and at the end when he says '' Just like everybody else'' WOW! I dont know why but that really made me think! This whole story is written very artistically and I appreciate you sharing everything you have experienced with everyone. I look forward to reading more. ~Bobby G
What a great story, and fantastic lesson, that I hope will continue to live in all our hearts. Thank you
I remember you telling that story on the cruise last year. It had a profound impact on me then, as it does for me now.. "Just like everybody else".. We all have it, and we all should be doing it. Thank you for sharing this part of your experience with us!
Bill, what a beautiful and insightful story and experience. It gave me goosebumps. You have experienced so much because you make it happen. You ponder something and find the answers in all different directions. This Elder was right on about you and you are making it happen! Thanks for sharing what you have learned with us and making it your mission to transform the world. You are doing it and because of you we are all doing it! Love to you--Patty
Bill~ This story gets better every time I hear it or read it. As I was reading the beginning of your blog and you were explaining your focus being on the body and the material world, it brought me back to some of the exciting times back when you were the Michael Jordan of marketing the engineered foods and publishing Muscle Media. Fast forward 10 years and I see a Bill Phillips that has transcended just the body and material world. I have had the opportunity to experience it through this community since day one. Through the community you had envisioned and then came to fruition, you incorporated the 18 assignments and as we guide member's through those assignments I have witnessed changes that can only be from the inside out, changes that light up peoples eyes and they display a glow that can only be from the cleansing of their souls. It's actually an incredible thing to see and what is so exciting is when a person works each assignment with an open and willing heart and to watch them let go of the results and soon the become lighter, but the difference now is they have become better spouses, parents, and better friends. They have a purpose and it's not about the body, but it's about being the change, so that they can make a difference in lives of others. What an exciting time we have going on right now in the community. Thanks for sharing your experience, strength, and hope Bill and also some very relaxing music. Love you no matter what~Stone
Thank you for sharing this beautiful journey that you made and showing us a way to transform our lives to help others. You insight is amazing. Thank you.
This just reminds me what I have always known but don't take the time to really understand. We are so small on this great-big planet. There are countless people out there to learn from. I smiled the entire time I read your words and laughed when the mayan elder said to you "Just like everyone else." That is so great. Thank you for taking me on that journey with you. You have truly been blessed Bill. You have such a gentle soul. What a wonderful thing to have the ability to travel as you do. My dream is to touch people and "teach" the younger generations......... Thanks~ Sandy
Beautiful, Bill! Thank you for sharing some of your Spiritual Journey with us! We all do have the Power to Create Change...we just all need to Believe it is so...and it will be!!! :) Cindy
This is wonderful, Bill. The music and the photos, and your description just made me feel so pulled into this with you. What a wonderful experience. Thank you!
Bill, My friend, you have an amazing ability to put your thoughts into words. It is so awesome that you have taken your notoriety and success and used it to make the world a better place. You are a humble man and that is something to be admired. Rock on with your T.Com community.....Mr. Phillips:-)
Wow Bill!!! That was some really neat stuff. You were so descriptive with your visit that it really made me feel like I was there along beside you. I get so excited everytime you write a blog or share. Your experiences are just so amazing and they all have a teaching in them. Thank you so much! TRansforming together~Nikki
Thank you for sharing that with us Bill. I am so motivated.....Sam
How wonderful to be able to commune with earth's elders. It shows the universal goodness and heartfelt spirits that exist for us. I, too, feel in my soul that we must relate to each other and our sacred mother earth and father sky. Your experience lets us know that we are not new to our earth--that there have been many, many others that have come before us and have paved a spiritual path for us to follow to fulfillment. Thank you, Bill, for being one of our leaders. . .Reenie
So, the bottom line that I see from your entry Bill is this (and correct me if I'm wrong): 1. See and believe the change that you desire, and be open to change... it may not be exactly what you thought it should be. 2. The change must be aligned with a self-less or ego-less greater good. 3. Take responsibility for your life and your particular part in bringing about the change that you see.
Bill...this is just what I needed today!!! Thank you so very much.~Kim
Great teachings as always, Bill !!
The beauty and power ........of wisdom and truth and willingness to learn. Thank you so much Bill for sharing your experience with all of us. Love, Rhonda
Beautiful. Just like everyone else.. what a revelation and yet so simple. Thank you!
Just like everybody else... this is true of all of us. We all posess the ability to change the things around us. To see situations with a cleansed mind and soul. The cleansing power of this transformation has allowed me to part ways with all the negativity in my life and to seek out a "cleaner" diet and lifesytle. But this change must come from the inside first... where God lives in all of us. Learn to meditate and get to the "Zero" where everything is exactly the way it's supposed to be. Peace
Wow! Bill! Such a phenomenal experience! Thanks for sharing it with us all! I admire your quest for knowledge and understanding, not just of the traditional practices of your upbringing but of the greater world population. Few are the true Seekers of Wisdom. It's a privilege to have the opportunity to be privy to your experiences and insight. Thanks much for Being the Change!
Bill, Thank you for sharing your wonderful and insightful visit to the Mayan World. It's just so amazing when there are moments in life when such clarity strikes you and you really "get it". I feel truly blessed to be part of this Transformation experience and I believe it's not just a physical, but NEEDS to be mental and spiritual as well in order to make it truly "stick". I've lost weight through weight watchers, but I lost the drive and ambition because I believe it was just to prove to myself I could do it for a while. I gained all the weight back, making excuses of why I couldn't do it anymore. I felt great for a while, but then reverted back to my normal, unhealthy routine. This Transformation is life-changing and I am eager to change forever. May God Bless You and your Family. Thanks again, Bill, for everything!
This was GREAT!!!! I am so excited for all of us!
Wow, Bill! Thanks for sharing this! When I read: "The elder answered without hesitating. “You have come here for an important reason. You have great potential. You have the power to create change... the ability to transform.” I started to cry! How powerful! You definitely have had the ability to assist in the transformation of my life. You have helped me to see the "truth" Thank You!
Thanks Bill I heard this in Tennessee when you spoke last year but it was enjoyable all over again and to read it and catch every word. While we all know there are no quick fixes, at least not at the conscious level. we see that the human mind has multiple levels. Most of the solutions we tend to attempt to solve the problem on the surface level and then completely ignore the underlying problem. Solving the symptom and not the problem is not the way to go about self-improvement. Through your assignments we learned, ( I learned) that everyone has the same innate abilities to get in touch with their spiritual self. Bill you gave us (me) the tools to jump start with my own abilities to improve. Thank you for doing all you do. You can, we all can, change the world one person at a time. Love, Linda
Every time I read or listen to your words, I always walk away with something so profound and thought provoking - this is no different. Thank you for being the Change that the world needs to be. Only God knows how much I have changed with your direction. How beautiful life is today. Thank you, Love - Jane
Hi Bill, Thank you for sharing your experience with the community. I love reading stories about people who have traveled and have learned about life, the spirit, the teachings of other cultures. I also love how the Shaman said that "God is within." I have a lot to learn, but in my transformation experience I have come to believe this to be such a simple yet ultimate truth. I didn't believe in God when I came to t.com. I don't subscribe to most religious dogma and I don't pretend to understand exactly what God is, but I understand that we are all creators and sculptors of this experience on Earth.. that God has the opportunity to manifest love through our actions when we are moving in the direction that we are supposed to be going. I hope that you share some more of your experiences on the site and in your book, I am interested in learning more. Thanks again, Mary
This has probably been my most favorite blog of yours yet! Very profound and very timely in my life at this very moment. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Devin
This is such a wonderful experience to share! It's a good thing you didn't travel that far and fail to ask the right questions.
NOW IS THE TIME BILL.....beautiful!!!!!!!
Bill- I can only say ... thank you.
Beautiful Bill. Thank you.
Reading this post was a truly meditative moment for me. Thanks for sharing this -steve
"We are clearly made for something much more than that. And perhaps it is time to wake up and begin to truly live as if that were so".....Thank you Bill for a beautiful 'A-HA' moment in my life. Nameste~Kelli
Bill, I just love you to pieces, BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD, yes, as we heal ourselves and connect with the God within our souls we heal the world....we touch the people around us with love, beauty and joy and this heals everything as we move through the world....I can see why I feel a connection to your speaking and your words, your openness and willingness to reach deep to study wide and to grow from within is a tremedous gift, thank you for being you and being the light unto the world...Love You Thia
Bill, I am blessed by the message that you share here today. As someone who has studied religion and spirituality in the academy, I truly admire the way that you explored these various spiritual beliefs, concepts and practices by participating respectfully in these cultures around the world. Your statement inspires me to strive for excellence and helps me to see that I must reach my full potential to fulfill God's plan for my life.
Incredible opportunities - wow. What encourages me the most, as that you've come away with a humble spirit and giving heart. Obviously, you found what you were searching for. Thank you for sharing, Bill. Thank you for BEING the change, and having the "courage" FOR us, until we could find our own. --Johnnie--
This touches me in such a way, that I have no words. I can only *feel* it. I can only close my eyes, filled with tears & listen to this music & sit quietly...
: “You have great power to transform yourself and the world,” he said. “Just like everybody else.” I LOVE THIS WE ALL HAVE IT...
WOW - I just joined this community recently, (16 days in) and it was great reading this story, how great it feels just to know that we all have the power to heal ourselves and help so many others in the process. Thanks for sharing such a personal story Bill ! ............Roseann
Your writing is like music to me. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience with us. I have grown just by reading your words here. I felt like I was right there with you. You state..."perhaps it is time to wake up..." I will forever be grateful to you for doing what you do. Your work is what helped me to wake up. And even more importantly, to be awake enough to realize this as a life journey continuing to "wake up" to higher levels of awareness, love, feel, happiness, understanding, giving, gratitude, joy, passion, belief....and so much more! Thank you Bill. I am forever grateful. Love You and appreciate you.
You sure have a way with words, Bill. I haven't been here in quite some time and was driven to come in to read this post. I'm certainly glad I did. What a wonderful, moving experience that must have been for you. I, for one, appreciate your sharing it with me. Much love & respect, Lori
Bill, I heard you tell this story in Knoxville last October. The written version is a great way of revisiting that powerful principle! Power to change the world, indeed!
Pretty kool
Ahhh, this is such an amazing blog. I am so, so immersed in the beauty of the message of Transformation and the wisdom of the Mayan. 10yrs ago, I had the great fortune to visit the Mayan Ruins and climb the temples, view the hieroglyphs/stelae’s, and such. I didn’t quite grasp the depth of what I was learning, and had a lot of work ahead of me, and of course, at that time in my life, the number one being the physical to spiritual transition, but this blog took me back to a place of true beauty and spiritual depth. I now see and appreciate the gift I was given back then; 10yrs later, I am experiencing a beautiful and evolving transition, and I am oh, so grateful. Thank you so much for sharing this incredible message of Transformation, we all so look forward to more of your incredible words of wisdom. You are helping us to heal the imbalance, awaken and enliven the soul, live life to the fullest ----- with true meaning and purpose, and find God from within…………What a gift. So beautiful!
Thank you for sharing that experience with us, Bill. First, I have to say that it would be really cool to travel the world exploring different spiritualities as you did. Second, the Mayan Elder's words still speak as true to me today (and probably every one else) as they did to you back then. I have made the decision (and am working on it) to live up to my greatest potential and will help as many others reach theirs as I can. Thanks again. - Melissa :)
Bill, I was riveted to my computer screen, pupils dilated!!! Thanks so much for sharing this sacred experience with us! I love experiencing different cultures and have experienced them mostly on my home turf - what an gift to visit these places abroad! I have distant Native American heritage and have been intrigued with indigenous beliefs and cultures for a long time - what I love is how 'healing' is foundational - body, mind, and spirit!. God is within us awating our surrender to a potential beyond our comprehension to heal our lives. God bless you, Bill! Love MaryPat
That was amazing! You had me on the edge of my seat the whole time as you described the discussion with the elder!! I am so glad that you studied and experienced the inner transformation that you now teach here. It has had a big flow on effect to my life, and then to the lives of those around me. This post has really put a spring in my step today, and reminded me of the message to be the change so that I can help others. Thanks Bill! Cheers, Paul.
An amazing journey, and a privilege to have you share it with us. Thank you!
I love it. Indeed, the God within. So motivating on so many levels. Thank you so much for all you give to us here and across the globe. You are a contemporary, philanthropic hero, that resonates God's love without religion. Thank you for all you do. God bless you, Elizabeth
Bill, This is really a great lesson for many people to learn and experience. Thank you for your willingness to work and help others identify that we are so much more than what we see in outward appearance. I appreciate your insight. Be blessed. -Chris
Bill this was so fun to read!! I just love what you do and write!! So true Transformation and The God within!! I love this path and the challeneges it brings!! Thanks for being you!!! You also are an incrediable writer!!.........Marty
