Bill's post

Welcome!

Dear Friend,

Welcome to the Transformation Community!

Making healthy changes in our lives so we can make a difference in the lives of others, is what it's all about.  And here on this site, you’ll meet people who are living that message each and every day.  We come from all over the world to gather here at transfomation.com, to help support and encourage each other, to help one another stay inspired and motivated so we can overcome the challenges we face in order to become healthy, happy and more alive.

I believe we are at a turning point in America today.  More people are suffering right now, at this very moment, of painful and preventable poor health, than at any other time in our nation's history. To me, that is simply not okay. It's far from okay actually. We have to take major action to create a national health transformation. We must draw a line in the sand, right here, right now. The mass depression, illness, and suffering can stop here. And the healing, renewal, and the re-inspiring can begin. We can help transform the nation! Yet we can get there from here, only one way: we must BE THE CHANGE. We must be the examples (like our 2008 Champions Marty, Sharen, Joe, Valerie, and Denise). And from there, we must move the message forward by each sharing our example with others.

NOW is the time, this is the place, we are the ones. I'm asking for your help. And in return, offering mine. We can do this folks. And it may be the most important thing we ever commit ourselves to.  I want to help share inspiration and hope, help more people become aware of their true potential, and help them discover that extraordinary and exciting transformation is possible for them too! I firmly believe that no matter how tough times get, we all have the ability and power to change--we have the ability and power to overcome even the most devastating setbacks in our lives and come out stronger, healthier, wiser, and more compassionate.

And so here at transformation.com, we focus on sustainable, healthy ways to make exercise and eating right a part of our way of life.  We also focus on transforming our mindset – bringing healthy thoughts, perceptions, and attitudes.  And also we do the courageous soul searching in order to connect with our individual and collective purpose for being a part of the transformation.

Please don't underestimate your role in this mission. Your care counts. Together we can make the healthy transformation of this nation a reality in our lifetime. (And preferably within 10 years!) I know this great transformation is possible, even probable, if we each do our part.

Everything here at transformation.com is offered FREE, with no strings attached.  My hope and prayer is that you’ll join us in this transformation mission.  By simply accepting this invitation to become a part of the community by signing up now and filling out your own profile, you’ll be taking a big step in the right direction.  From there, please enjoy the articles, blogs, and videos on the site.  And, participate in our forums where you can begin learning about how to create you own health transformation.

Thank you very much for visiting the transformation community and I look forward to helping you make healthy changes in your life so you can help make a healthy difference in the lives of others.

Very Sincerely,

Bill Phillips

P.S.  Resources that will help you as you move forward include the #1 NY Times bestseller Body-for-LIFE, and the nutrition guide Eating for Life.  Also, be sure to check out our free articles archive here at the site and review my blogs from the past few months to learn even more!

P.P.S.  Remember you can get started creating your own transformation by signing up here now!

Bill we miss you...Time has come and gone and swept away the dreams we once had. I look back at the work you did and all the lives you changed with a simple idea. This is fair from the place we wanted to go then. Who changed you, them or you? Money Fame Power Dan Tumors, all gone and only their shadows remand. EVERYONE liked you best when you had the noose rapped around your neck. Life can put any man in check and raise the hair on all our necks…But nothing lasts if we forget our pasts. Well thank you for the shadows because without them I wouldn’t be the same man I am today. I miss you bud may the road before you be filled with love, Gonzo G.

It's been a while since I've read this welcome letter and I find the sincere truth of what I've experienced about Bill's vision to be nothing short of amazing ... "We come from all over the world to gather here at transfomation.com, to help support and encourage each other, to help one another stay inspired and motivated so we can overcome the challenges we face in order to become healthy, happy and more alive."

I have just started the challenge, for me to become and stay healthy. I am learning how to navigate this site, I'm a slow learner. For example, I see many people post their challenges. I haven't learned how to do that yet, but I have the old fashion notebook and pen. It's a start. The challenges are very revealing and am looking forward to completing all of them and eventually get them posted Loir

Aloha Bill! Just finished reading Body For Life, and I am excited about my decision to join the transformation community. Like most health care providers, I have focused on my patients and let my health and activity level take the "back seat". What I had failed to realize was; not only is this decision affecting my health, I have passed my unhealthy habits on to my children! We each have our own individual reasons for making the commitment to transform. For myself...it is to embrace and exemplify healthy lifestyle awareness. I want to be able to encourage my patients to reduce their medication load and make the choices that will enable them to live a longer and richer life. To do so I need to make these choices for myself. * I am making the decision to lead by example so that I can honestly say "do as I have done...rather than do as I say". Thank you for your efforts to transform America. I promise to join you in this quest.

Mr. Phillips, I would like to thank you for bringing your methods to the forefront & sharing them with the public. Had you not done that, my friend, Scott Gist (gistsc), may not have found you. Without you, he wouldn't be able to help me. I'm dealing with some medical issues that are making it hard to control my weight. But I feel so empowered & more positive since talking with Scott & joining the Transformation website, that I feel for the first time, I will be able to see long lasting results! Hey, there, Bill. I really hope this is not a bother. I am sure you are bombarded with email. I had a question I am hoping to find an answer to. Will there be an official challenge this fall? I am really excited to participate in a challenge. I have been aware of t.com since Jan., but I have been in a pregnancy, so needed to wait for a full challenge. I have in this last trimester (I am due in two weeks) been very active in the exercise, nutrition, and learning aspects, but hope to engage in a transformation challenge soon with the community. Final thought. I want to thank you for your amazing example and insight. Anything I read from you or hear on your show is so inspiring. I love to hear you because not only do you share such sweet, wonderful insights, but you exemplify a deep compassion for others that really rings as special to me. It is an element of godliness innate in each of His offspring that you have magnified and I admire and am in tune with it. I love your heart! Thanks for your generous social giving and inspiring example. Clarissa, Stoney, and Chris, among others are such sterling sidekicks as well. Love to all. In much love and respect, Eme

Bill, I can only imagine what it must have felt like to write your first blog for this community. You have created such a wonderful place for people to gather from across America and internationally in suppoert of a common goal. There is SO much inspiration here (among the indiviidual trials and tribulations). Together we are stronger as we help to lift eachother up. I am one of the zig-zaggers along the way. I've had difficulty staying focussed, so I will adapt my approach. My next small goal is to read all of your blogs and open myself to learn more.......Thanks for putting so much time and effort into sharing your knowledge with us. :) smiles- Heather

Bill, what can I say but thank you again! I really enjoyed being on the show last night, I actually couldn't believe that I got through. It especially touched my heart that we could discuss the epidemic of childhood obesity in America. I was at the beginning of this epidemic, and I want to help put an end to it. We all need to help sow the seeds of a healthier generation to come. As you pointed out, they will have their own problems to solve; they don't need to inherit our problems. Much love and peace to you. Your friend in Transformation. > Jim

I just read the wolf analogy and agree. Feeding the right wolf is so important. I try to dig into the Word of God daily to feed my soul the right kind of soul food. It starts my day out with the Source of all wisdom, health, & prosperity. How quickly I can forget and get puffed up with pride and arrogance, feeding the wrong wolf.

Bill...I'm privileged to be a part of your "God-given" program. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is not true. your giving is like God's giving.....unconditional! Thanks SO MUCH. This is so awesome. I don't suppose you have time to keep up with all the blogs, but if you've checked mine, you know how excited I am about having kept up faithfully with my workouts. That is unbelieveable in my life. I'M HALFWAY TO THE 18 MONTHS...and I am still excited and grateful for what God is doing for me. Not just what you see, but my CORE strength and joy continue to build. I do have to say that I still haven't got balanced in the food part, partly because I am not overweight (today I weigh 115 on the gym scales.) I am working on balancing out protein and carbs and eating vegies (I have a food problem that inhibits fruits (MOAN) it messes my blood sugar up. I am constantly remembering to let my shoulders relax (used to wear them on my ears like earrings!) also constantly bringing myself up straight (er) from living 74 years slumped/humped over, and try to remember to bring my shoulders back into God's position. I'm hoping some day to meet you and the group, perhaps my sister, Johnnie Lorren and hubby, Bob will stick me in one of their suitcases and let me hop a ride to one of your big cellebrations! :-) Sincerely, Jodi (Joleneo)

That is definitely one of the best "Words" I've heard in a long time. Especially pertaining to fitness and health. I posted on another blog the other day that for my current "challenge" my only goals are to make eating clean a priority and reach for 6 meals per day, get to the gym daily as part of a balanced daily plan and let the transformation occur naturally, as it will. Spot on Bill!

I have just signed up for the Challenge and plan on completing it. I have seen several of my friends over the years take on the Body For Life and Transformation Challenges, and watched their transformation happen. They never won any of the big prizes but they won their health, they look unbelieveably great and I watched. I quit smoking July 7, 2007 after 25 yrs and that was the hardest thing I ever did, but now I am ready for a new challenge. I have good health but I am over weight and I know that I need to do something now before I turn 50 yo at the end of theis year. I want to enter a new era of health and have a great body for the rest of my life. Like the song say, "I have been to Paradise but I have never been to me!" I start this Monday April 13, 2009 for a life time! This is a new world and who knows where I and all of us will go with these ideas and concepts of Transformation but to change each of our communities and be an example!!! Thanks, Bill!

Thank you Bill! I am not new to the BFL concepts. I purchased the "Body For Life" book in 2001 and have completed 3 challenges since, but sadly I let life happen and I didn't understand the "power mindset" and "Body For Life". My last challenge ended April 2008 and I received my certificate and then I made the mistake of not setting new goals. I've maintaned my weight and I still get 2-3 workouts in each week and eat okay, but I just realized that is not good enough! I am so glad that I looked you up and found Transformation! I am ready to go rise up again. I pre-ordered my book and can't wait to read it. I have decided that February 9th will be my official day for starting the challenge. Thanks again, I think you are Awesome and this site and the community here are awesome.

Bill: I am on Week 2 of this journey. I am just beginning to figure out the way of the assignments. I had posted my pics early on, and kept a note book of the words associated with my thoughts about myself and my before pic. But I just put them in Jpeg form and posted them. Such a humbling experience, as in the shadows of my own notebook at home, I was still able to put up a bravado. Even though my pics were posted.... Noone could see how vunerable I felt as a result of the shape I have let myself come to. I am embracing this journey with all I have and excited to see the changes that will come both inside and out. Thank you for creating such and making it possible for other's such as myself to meet and support one another in perhaps one of the most important things we can do for ourselves! Over the past six years I have made many changes, including stopping smoking, losing 40 lb. and getting more consistent with exercise and eating well. I have hit a plateau in weight loss. I started the transformation after the deadline in August, and took the photos and started, but have still struggled and circled around the correct weight. I was following the WW eating plan and will now switch over to Eating for Life. The key for me is the eating and staying away from late night snacking and making sure I eat enough at the right times to avoid the hunger munchies. I look forward to participating more on line and turning that final corner to lose the final 20 or so pounds that will allow the beautiful muscles I have developed to show and to keep the commitment I have made to myself to take good care of myself.

My daughter graduates this year from high school and will be leaving me soon to join the military and my son is 16 and a great athlete. Bill, My first transformation attempt was in 1997(8)? ... the second annual EAS Body-For-Life challenge. At the time I was inspired by you and your previous years champions. The goal then was to lose the bit of "chubbiness" that college had added. I did pretty well at the time for the first 4 weeks, but as a youngin, and was side tracked by work and a changing lifestyle. Well .. I'm back. This time my goal has a slightly higher purpose, ... get healthy for my wife, 3 year old daughter, and family -- the years of weight have escalated and I now have diabetes (2) as a result. Its not horrific, but its a disease that I can eliminate by gaining back my health. Anyhoot ... thanks for all your years of inspiration, I look forward to the chance of gaining control of my health once again. "If at first you don't succeed .. try .. try .. again!" :) Thanks Bill. -Todd

Bill, I look at you as one of God's great helpers in this world. You and your program were there for me 10 years ago. And as I've slowly drifted into obesity the last 5 years, I just arrived at a point where I needed a nudge. There was your email and this time I didn't ignore it. You see, in a way, as a former runner up back in 1998, I've been ashamed that I let myself drift away. I didn't want to admit that I needed to take an honest assessment of myself. And for sure I didn't want to have to admit to you that I'd slipped off into the lard pit. Well, no more denial. I'm a year and a half away from age 50 and I want to regroup and get on track once again. Thanks Bill! You are the kind of leader this world needs. Jeff Maki

The body is back to where it was before, but this time, I'm taking the rest of me on this transformation. I've been working on my mind and spirit for the last couple of years and believe the body is ready to join me. I'm a bit older and a little less healthy , but a whole lot smarter. I dug out the picture of me and Porter Freeman and put it where I can see it everyday. I'm ready to go for it! Thanks Bill for another chance

Wow, Here I am a decade later and I can feel the incredible energy and light already! I took my first step tonight at dinner and refused to stuff myself. Going to get back on 6 meals a day like I should be. Just watched an incredible video of Clarissa and also really appreciated her immediate warm welcome. I send my energy, love, and good will out to all of you. I've been here before and did well over a decade ago so I know this works. I've just got to pull my hind end back out of the food ditch and get celebrating the journey of good health.

I haven't figured everything out yet. I'm just excited to be here. My palms are all sweaty because I'm sooo not with it when it comes to the computer. I have a lot to catch up with. I'm not always a procrastinator. It's just so new of a format for me. Assignment #1 seems pretty scarey though. Can I take a digital photo and then get a hard copy made from that? Do I need to put those pictures on my blog or where? I'm doing it through trail and error so far. This is hard but thanks Bill for the challenge. I look forward to the next best 18 weeks.

Dear Bill, I have been following you since the early 90's and I hang on every single word. One of my favorite readings was your Supplement Guide for body builders from the early days. How comprehensive and down to earth. I would laugh out loud at your honesty and realistic presentation. When I read your words I feel like you are talking to me. Of course - I have failed to take a very important step - one that you have reminded me of repeatedly - that is utilizing the knowledge you have given me. I just read and fantasize. But I have never read and DONE! Knowing what to do as opposed to actually doing it are two different things. I have vision in my head - so clearly - of what I want to be. I am going to take this 18 week challenge with you. I have come to trust and respect you. I have faith that if I follow your fitness teachings I will be the best I can be. You have allowed me to keep HOPE. Here I go!

I agree 100%. Your books are A-1. I think this is an awesome idea. I just want to praise you for your ability to inspire and to challenge people in the world. Even if some of them don't like what you're saying. I'm looking fore-ward to being a part of this community and will be looking at the sight a lot. Thanks Bill and good luck in your continuing adventures. Well to another great day in paradise. Amen, and God Bless everyone in this great world.

Hey Bill and the tranformation community, I am in my third week of the BFL challenge, and I feel great! I've really learned the importance of setting goals and planning my meals and workouts. I'm looking forward to setting new goals and challenges after my first 12 weeks is up. Thank you for changing my life!

I'm learning this computer lliteracy. It took 2 weeks to get logged in, but I'm in. Thanks for all you've done. You are a great inspiration. I've shared your story with all my students in my classes. They are helping me stay focused. I've also shared with them your energy from the Pirranah conference. I want to post a picture of you signing my books but can't find it on the 'search for heroes' address. I've also just had the first meeting with teachers at my school to get them to join the BFL team in Sept. I have a few pics to show, but it's the end of the year and I haven't figured out how to upload them. My daughter and I are beginning our 6th month, we started just before the 1st challenge and love the great feeling of being healthy.

Bill ~ This Community website was actually the final motivator I needed...lit that fire under me, if you will. Although you'd think one look in the mirror at the extra bulge would do the trick...that automatically those bad eating habits would revert back to sensible, right? But doing it simply because it's good for me and it will...oh...lengthen my life...just doesn't seem to be enough reason. The website was terrific...I ordered your books (also easy reading) and I planned my 12-week challenge to start tomorrow, the 23rd! Thank you for this! It's been a long time coming...and I can't wait to get the word out in my own area! Respectfully, Norean

This a wonderful website and Thank you Bill, for the invite. I have been trying to live the BFL way since 1999, and I too have let life get in the way. 2 years ago, my DH was very ill and I used my challenges as a way of excaping for short periods every day. My workouts kept me going and when my DH had his Lung Transplant, you were there to help me through that too. I look forward to this Transformation. Thank you, Kathy

Hey Bill. Thank you once again for being such a big part of my life. Look at you...MetRx, then on to bigger and better things. EAS, then move on again. I never would have thought you could improve on the work that you've done. But, you certainly practice what you preach. Apparently goal setting and improvement are qualities that are deep within your core. I've never met you, but I love you. You have had such a MAJOR impact on my life. I'm really grateful to be a part of your new community. Onward and upward, following your bright light.

Bill, I've been attempting this challenge on and off since 2001 and always life got in the way. I'm hoping that with your help, and this community I'll be successful this time. I really am hoping to make a true transformation. When I read today that you were in Sellersburg--that's only about 20 miles from where I live--I could hardly believe my eyes! I hope someday you'll be coming to visit me! Thanks for all you do to help empower people to change their lives.

Staying motivated is a challenge in itself at times! I have found that by having a feeling I want to breate in to every cell in my body helps. It becomes an infusion of energy, when my life batteries are feeling drained. It gives me a surge at just the righ moment. Another thing that helps is just knowing there are others out there who are willing to cheer you on and give you a 'push' when your legs feel weak or your mind is pushing in the other direction. The words of those who want to see you succeed are such a powerful tool. Thank you Namaste Jaki
