Feelings: On the transformation forefront I feel awesome and blessed on the work forefront I feel stressed and discouraged.... I am doing my best to let it go and let the peace flow... it is hard when you feel passionately about something and things feel all wrong.
Gratitude:
I am grateful that I Have a wonderful partner to come home to.
I am grateful that I get to be involved and live a transformed life.
I am greatful for the Laughter my sweet little sneaky Imp and adorable Pickles provide for me.
I am grateful That I am Moving over the next 3 weeks to a safer area and home.
I am grateful that I have an awesome and powerful transformation community to turn to for support and encouragement.
Making a difference in the lives of others:
It really helped today to remember that each and everyone of my patients were having a troubled and unpleasant day. Or they wouldn't be in a Level 2 trauma center Emergency room. Remembering this reminded me to give a caring touch and uplifting or kind word and to offer comfort in the form of answering questions to the best of my ability or fetching a warm blanket or even just a family member or nurse...It eased their troubles even if for just a moment. and lifted thier burden.

Thank you my T.Com family for being there.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Morning everyone!

I am returning to Leann's group after getting sidetracked by life........though I did pretty darned good fitness-wise since the 18 week challenge.

I came up about two weeks short of completing the 18 week challenge due to some personal conflicts regarding my fitness goals, and then my father was hospitalized & remains in critical care two weeks later. Long story short, I take responsibility for allowing the little voices in my head to allow myself "fall off the fitness wagon" the last couple of weeks, fall out of group participation for most of the challenge, and then taking up crappy old habits I thought I had left behind at the beginning of the challenge........I am BACK.

Now, I cannot guarantee I will post religiously, but the holiday challenge will return me to focus and to center. I begin TODAY with by eating properly, and hitting the gym.

I look forward to interacting with all the new faces, and re-acquainting myself with familiar faces I have known from my previous participation!

Cheers to all!

WOW everyone is off to a GREAT start!!

Soberman, I "get it" on the feeling out of it when skipping the sugar! Good for you though with sticking to it! It will get easier!

Bill Great job on finishing the wokrout & not giving up!!

Floprieto I am glad you are here with us! As far as your meals yesterday, we can focus on what we can do better today. Get a few healthy meals in there, & that's a win! It can be a process & it does not always happen overnight, one MORE healthy meal today than yesterday=success!
I understand about pics too, but I promise once you get them done it will be a relief out of the way & you will be able to move on to your NEW self!

I will be back in a bit to comment to others & to post my accountability for the day as well..cardio is the plan!

OK I have to share with you "Leann's DUH moment of the day"
( & believe me there are plenty! LOL)
SO last night I was super proud of myself, I cooked up a bunch of chicken breasts in the crock pot with a can of chicken broth & some onions. When it is done cooking, it shreds up soo niceley.
SO I made the family chicken tacos for dinner, made 6 enchiladas for myself to have meals over the next few days & also have enough left for chicken salad or to mix up with rice for a quick & easy meal

I am thinking "Wow Leann you are so awesome & prepared, this is great! You stayed focused & didn't get distracted & skip out on the planning""

I just realized like 10 minutes ago..I left the freaking enchiladas in the oven..all night!!

ugh

I remember turnign the oven off..then running upstairs to help the kids get ready for bed & that was it..I forgot all about them.

Now this morning 6 little enchi's in the trash

What a bummer!!

DUH

OK the positive side is, LOL at least I still have plenty in the fridge for my meals today!!

OK I have to hop offline for a bit, have to work, go vote, get my cardio in & I will be back!!

What an amazing group of people in Leann's group!!!! After introducing myself yesterday I received so many warm welcomes and well wishes I was a bit taken aback! Below is my blog from today. Today has already been amazing in so many ways. I'm truly grateful for many things today. I managed to sum it up into 5 but I felt I could go on forever. After the kids go to bed this evening I plan on reading through all of your posts and giving a few shout-outs!

Make the rest of today GREAT!! :-)

Week 1

New challenge = new goals

My goals have changed a bit since the beginning of the year. Life unfortunately has a way of doing that.

Goals
Lose 24 pounds
Start to build a "post divorce" body - LIke I said, life has a way of changing plans.
Rebuild my self confidence

Day 1
Starting weight 246 pounds
Goal weight 222 pounds

Exercise

Upper body part 1

Bench press - 275 pounds !!! Only 25 off my goal. Very happy with my bench after three weeks off.
Tricep pushdowns Tricep kickbacks

Meals
Meal 1 - protein bar
Meal 2 - chicken breast
Meal 3 - Protein shake
Meal 4 - Chicken breast and brown rice

Feelings
Feeling uncertain and nervous. Trying to focus on positives and not letting the negatives creep in and overwhelm. Also a bit excited at the idea that I am really rebuilding myself from the inside out.

Gratitude
I am and always will be grateful for my daughter. Her smile always makes my day
My family and friends who have really been there for me

I make a difference
In my daughters life every single day
At my job, where I have the opportunity every day to make a difference for the staff and residents that I am in charge of (I run an assisted living community)

Today was all about me I took my first hula hoop class in the morning and my first sewing class at night. I loved them Can't wait to do it again!!!

The only reason why I did not get all my meals in and the last meal was Taco Bueno is because these 2 classes were in Dallas... and the driving got the best of me... I was so hungry!

Accountability

Tuesday Nov 2nd

Exercise:
45 min cardio on treadmill-intervals.
Hmm..this was "good" I feel I could have done "more" & pushed harder. I waited too long inthe day & was distracted with everyhting I needed to do once cardio was done. A reminder to do it as early as I can!!

workout requirement 2/32

Meals:
1 2 eggs 1 pc wheat toast
2 2 chicken tacos
3 chcien breast + green salad
4 Grilled Steak + Sweet potato
5 right light
*Need more veggies!

Feelings:
I am still excited! LOL

Gratitude:
1 My home
2 Our crazy pets
3 A HOT shower!
4 laughter
5 I live in a great community!

Making a difference in the lives of others:
In progress, researching local opportunities to give back to my community
I did find 2 projects so far I am interested in, one is sorting & bagging donated toys for families & another is a wrapping party where you wrap toys to be given to children. I am trying to see if local T.com members would like to join me.

Tomorrow is "LEG DAY" I had been taking it easy as I was trying to pretend to RUN in Denver! LOL I am REALLY looking forward to a "real" leg day again! I am nice & sore from yesterday's upper body lifting so I feel like I really did some work there!

Date: Tues Nov 2, 2010 – Work day1

Exercise: 22 minute Interval program on the Elliptical at 5am

2 for 2
Meals:
1. Fried Egg, 50 cal round bread, 2 oz cheese, 2 slices roasted red bell pepper, green tea
2. ½ wrap (sliced steak, hummus, red bell pepper)
3. ½ wrap (sliced steak, hummus, red bell pepper)
4. Protein shake, apple slices
5. Hard-boiled egg
6 6 oz grilled beef, ½ c cottage cheese w/blueberries, ½ Kefir low fat yogurt smoothie

Water Intake:
Finishing the last of 64 oz as I type. This part of ‘good living’ is hard for me, as I am usually very focused on several things at once. This is helpful to keep me more mindful, and allows me to slow down throughout the day and check-in with my body.

2 for 2

Feelings: Work was a mellow day. Just scanning, very little admin. It was nice.

However, now that I’m checking my T.com, I’m sad, bummed, and disappointed.

After Denver I came back full of enthusiasm. I met some vibrant local people at the marathon, and thought how great would it be if there was a central location to post events where we could get together. An ‘activities’ calendar of sorts.

So, I started a Google Calendar. CO & WY Transformation – an unofficial calendar that people can access, add and post activities for our area. I put a post up in the CO & WY forum.

The instructions were considered ‘a link’ which is a violation of the TOS here, and it was deleted.

So, I am trying to follow Bill’s advice about cutting down on activities which take our time, by being more efficient. Meanwhile, I’m told by one of the ‘Champions’ the solution is to essentially scroll through pages of forum posts to find out if/what’s happening in my region. (which is the whole western half of the US)

Gratitude :
1. Michael Sabene – every day he brings love and light into my life!
2. “Da” Forest dog – his happiness and enthusiasm projected in best DOG LOVE fashion is priceless. Big, fluffy, bouncy, loving puppy…..he just makes me smile.
3. My life – is great. Not because I am just lucky, but because I have walked over the hot coals, adjusted my perspective to take responsibility for my actions, and CHOOSE to live with integrity. I am never the victim, and when things don’t go my way, I find a way to learn lessons, and make more defining choices in the future.
4. Great friends, with new people entering my life all the time.
5. Good job/nice place to live – one affords the other, and I am grateful to experience them.

Making a difference in the lives of others:
I work in healthcare. I spend my day being compassionate and trying to make scary situations more palatable for people with heart disease. As I do this challenge I take to work a new awareness and attempt to make each of my patients smile and feel relief as they walk out of my exam room.

Stretching: Stretching with the Forest dog is an activity unto itself…he is soooo very helpful…NOT! lol

I sent a message to Soberman to drop me an email, but thought I would post it here as well in case anyone else is interested.
I am not allowed to post outside links, but if anyone is interested in a site that will help you find volunteer opportunities in your area, just email me @ Leanns99@aol.com

Last year, I did ask ahead of time & received permission to post the site during the HHC, but with all the site changes earlier in the year, the rules seem a bit stricter now & I don't even want to risk getting a post deleted or breaking a rule.

I am Really grateful That I am Moving over the next 3 weeks to a safer area and home. Coming home tonight felt really dangerous when I was trying to get into the gate of my complex. A group of folks were out side blocking the gate and it was 2 am.
I am grateful that I have an awesome and powerful transformation community to turn to for support and encouragement.
Making a difference in the lives of others:
I have a few Ideas brewing! One involves an activity at work for our adopt a family and another is on a more personal level at work then I have seveal people that I am starting a weekly card campaign. Folks generally love to get things in the mail as in a Mail box. So I will start sending a weekly personal note or card to people I know.. You never know when an encouraging word or note will help someone....My mother used to do this now and then....I loved this and It meant the world to me.

Thank you my T.Com family for being there.
