Can you help me? It is for a Great Cause

Hello friends,

I will be travelling to Denver for the half marathon in October. This is a part of my blog from yesterday. If you can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

I will be in Denver in October to run the half marathon. I have always been overcompetitive, to the point where I view my fellow competitors as enemies. I know where it all comes from and I am dealing with it since coming to the T. I am changing my patterned behaviour by viewing competition as friendly rivalries. I still crave competition but I am learning to change my winning is everything approach. So to do this, I want some competition in running the half marathon but I want something good to come of it where a third party will actually win. What I want is 20 people to put their hand up and to go head to head with me but with a twist. I want to give up to 600 dollars to Make a Wish so of those 20 who take the challenge here is my deal. It will cost you nothing but friendly competition. For every person that beats me I will donate 20 dollars if I win I will only donate 10. So the bear minimum that I will pay is 300 and the absolute maximum will be 600. I can hear you all now saying hold on ya goose, your maths is wrong. Well I am already commited to a little wager with another friend on tcom. If he beats me I am committed to 200, if I win I am committed to 100. So that is where the extra figures come in to it. Leave me a message if you are interested.

It is all for a great cause!

Ok... I'm in! But if I win, I match the 20 you now have to put in and If I lose I'll double that! Let's go!

I am in as well. If I lose (hey, I am 50 years old) I will donate $100 to Make a Wish. Look forward to seeing you in Denver! Brad.

ROHAN: I PICKED UP A GREAT BOOK ON TRAINING. SEE IF YOU CAN FIND "RUN FAST" How To Beat Your Best Time Every Time by Hal Higdon. It is fantastic and should help you stay injury free. Let me know if you have trouble getting it. Lets keep each other motivated! Hop

Thanks for the book title. I will certainly check it out. I will probably be able to track it down over the web.

Thanks guys for taking up the challenge and thank you for donating as well.

Have a great day.

At the moment I have a couple of challengers.
I have:
Eric, The Hopster, Doyle, and Brad. I want to give as much as I can to Make A Wish, so keep the challengers coming. It is all for a good cause. Ladies, I am hopeless at long distance running, so feel free to also accept the challenge! It won't cost anything!
Have a great day.

I'm in, but I ain't fooling anyone here....I'm a newbie! I'm shootin' for the half. I don't know where I'll place but I promise to hop across the finish line for you. I'll do the "girl's bet." So excited to meet you all there!!!
Great idea, Rohan!

OK Rohan, all male ego stuff aside, I hope Elizabeth kicks butt. She is training hard and nothing would make me happier than to see her finish strong. Brad. (In the meantime, I think Hop and I will conspire to come up with a plan to make sure us "over 50" guys make a good showing, as well.)

I look so forward to meeting you guys. I will tell you now, my legs are built for speed and not running 21kms. LOL. It is going to be a lot of fun. Rohan

This is going to be fun.

Rohan, your legs were built for speed, mine were built to get me from the recliner to the fridge and back. They have never ran in 50 years (couldn't get them to make me in gym class in high school, and it has been down hill since then).

I will start training in June. In all honesty I know I won't even come close to beating you, but it will be fun all the same.

Now, Hop, on the other hand, I have my goal set to not let you get too far ahead of me. Brad.
