Super Sunday!

Good morning group! I woke up early, got my run in,did the chapter 14 assignment, now to finish helping my wife get ready for her pampered chef party! Here is my assignment on addictions...

After careful consideration, I’ve become aware that my most unhealthy habit I’d like to be free of is:

Getting up about an hour or two after I go to sleep every night and eating. It's something I have done for as long as I can remember. Purely habit and something in the recent years have wanted to stop, but then I wake up tired and on auto pilot the ol' start tomorrow adage kicks in.

Knowing that if I were able to overcome this negative pattern on my own, I probably would have done it by now, I am asking for help from these three sources:

My wife and daughter to also hold me accountable.

Transformation group for accountability as I will report my daily success or... well we won't think about the other.

God

Three unhealthy feelings and emotional states that originate from my most unhealthy habit are:

When I try to quit then fail I feel shame and guilt, then I mentally beat myself up for it over and over again.

The more times I ‘mess up,’ the more out of control I feel.

I end up feeling like I can’t trust myself and I lose confidence.

Three ways these feelings interfere with my life are:

When I don’t feel good about myself I am less likely to show up at social events and sometimes don’t even feel like working out.

When I don’t feel confident it effects my relationships and career.

Whenever I feel guilty I have less motivation to take care of myself because I think, “What’s the use?”

Three conditions that trigger my lowest level habit are:

none that I'm aware of, just a bad habit

Three people who will help support and keep me accountable as I work to overcome this personal challenge are:

Wife, Daughter, and my amazing Got Guts group.

Three good feelings I will enjoy when I break free from my most unhealthy habit are:

I will feel more confident and in control of my actions, behaviors, thoughts and mindset. I will feel happier and my digestive system will benefit from the rest.
I will feel like I can trust myself again.

I hope and pray everyone has a great Sunday! This IS a day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it!

B

Blessed Sunday morning,

Brian - Way to go on step 14 ! I have had a similar midnight snack problem,in the past.
Now if I get that urge I remember what I read in Bill's old magazine and try to just have half a protein shake or something else super light and healthy.

My.healthy intentions,

1. Gratitude, prayer, and meditation on the intentions of hope and expectancy.

2. Light hip and core exercises and stretching in mornin.

3. Free day on menu but will keep portion control in check.

4. Healthy spaces organizing in my new spaces

5. Church Mass ( which should be my first intention !

Enjoy this glorious Sunday in Transformation. !!!!

Love ya ,

- Joseph

I am so grateful for this group! Each and everyone of you are amazing in your own way and I'm so thankful you are here!
I'm grateful for each and every breath! I shared with my husband last evening and finally admitted that I was slowly killing myself with food. Make it a great day!
