Happy Wednesday HHSD Family,
I don't have a lot of time, but wanted to share some fun news: I went to see my doctor today to get a check-up and labs done. He actually took time to talk to me about family history and actions I am taking to be healthy. He got an earful! I've seen him for the last 3 years and my labs and health keep improving over the years. He congratulated me on my health! He actually thanked me for being such a health-conscious patient. Pretty cool doctor, huh? Now I just hope my labs will show the same! ![]() I will check back in later!

I have a lot of Wishes... but here are the most important ones currently:
*Keep up the good work to continue working out 6x a week (even if its a pilates video at home) *Remember the GREAT feeling I get from working up a sweat *Put as much energy into organizing and cleaning my home as my workouts *Finally getting the strength to "Let Go" of materialistic things and STUFF that is truly not important *Giving my BF the love and support he needs on a DAILY basis even when I'm a grump ![]() *Being supportive to fellow t.com members b/c I get a lot of motivation from others ![]() |

D - Way to go on assignment #3--I loved it! I have to laugh because how can one really love an assignment #3? Hahaha--but I love yours! *HUG* Maybe because I've seen your journey this year, and it is just awesome. Way to go on starting Kath's MM challenge. Now you get to suffer along with us! LOL! I mean that in a loving way, Kath.
![]() Kym - You crack me up with the exercise--"even if its a pilates video at home" like that's not a good work out or something? We gotta talk tonight at RR! Those are great intentions--I'm looking forward to seeing your perspective on them at the end of your 18 weeks (or maybe even sooner). ![]() WISHING WEDNESDAY -> I wish to go to a big transformation event this year. It's starting to look like that will be Denver, and I'm keeping my mind open to going and actually getting the ball rolling in that direction. I would rather there be something here on the West Coast (like even the beach get together they did in L.A. last year).... But who am I kidding? I'd want to go to that and a big event like Denver, too. I wish Bill would decide to do an event around the SD Rock and Roll half/marathon, too--wouldn't that be AWESOME? Well, there it is--I WISH! ![]() I finished my assignment 8 last night - http://www.transformation.com/sherik...Forgive/136254 And I also finally finished up a blog I started a couple days ago about the importance of FEELING--and that I finally took my own advice - http://www.transformation.com/sherik...to-FEEL/136288 Sorry for posting 2 links to my stuff at a time. I'd pace it out, but that's just not me. (It's hard for me to wait.) At any rate, I'd appreciate it if people would take a look at my #8, and I think my blog about feeling may be a useful read. I better finish up and get the kids! I'm hungry for breakfast! ![]() --Sheri P.S.: Does anyone have an idea for the daily mini challenge? If so, please post it! |

Kym & Sheri -- are you 2 doing the adventure run tonight?! Ahhh... lucky! One day, I will join you both.. it sounds like fun. Please let us know how it goes ... oh and my Wednesday wish is that if possible you gals take some pics! hehehe Have fun tonight!
Sheri -- I love that you've seen my journey from the "beginning" here... reading your comment made me realize that I am 1000000% at peace with how my transformation journey has unfolded. I'm glad that Round 1 went the way it did... I have so much more appreciation for Round 2, and for the process. I better leave it at that before the tears start. (But wait, I want to share the process instead of being cryptic) -- what I feel right now is profound gratitude, and peace about where I am. I have this sense that all is working out perfectly, and that every single thing I want and dream of, can, and will come true. Sure, I know that I will "stumble" but I know that those little stumbles along the way need not derail my 'efforts' -- "this too shall pass" -- it always does, but in the past I never put my attention on that. I know things are good when I can get up on that scale in the morning, see my weight, and know that I "feel" so much lighter than the scale says. I've felt that before, and wound up losing almost 70lbs! I know from living life that anything good in my life happened after I already felt good... so these are all very good signs for me. I guess you can say, that this time around... I am more determined than ever just to feel good.. no matter what. And I trust that in doing that -- my goals will be achieved. I know it can sound airy fairy or even woo woo, but I love myself enough to not care what anybody else thinks. ![]() Have a great day everyone! Celebrating your wellness and inevitable success on this journey, Divina Last edited by nthvrtx106 : 03-10-2011 at 11:30 AM. |

CONNECT FOUR! (four posts in a row, do I get a prize? jk! :P)
I came across this daily inspiration email and thought it was worth sharing with my favorite HHSD family... No comments needed here. If it calls to you, then good! If not, just scroll along my friend.. I love you no matter what you think. IMAGINATION On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know... ...that imagination is your greatest gift. Do not be afraid to use it. Imagine yourself as being okay right now. Totally okay. Imagine yourself as Whole, Complete, and Perfect. With nothing to change, nothing to "improve." Imagine your heart as being open again, your life as if it were starting over in the most important ways. Can you imagine this? Then you have just created Tomorrow. |

Well... It was a great Thursday. I had a blast at the Road Runner event, I ran into Sheri along the way- how funny that we recognized each other right away! Super excited for next month... Fellow HHSD members PLEASE come next time... 2nd Thursday of every month. I am really competitive and hope to do the extra long ones next time... maybe
![]() I have posted my accountability...please take a look... I still need to do Assignment #3... After reading the comments from Divina and Sheri, I'm kinda intimidated. But it needs to be done especially since I wanted to do it by Weds...and its now Thursday! http://www.transformation.com/sunny84/blog/ Anywho... here is my Top 10 list to relieve stress 1. Be happy Be happy: Not so many people appreciate the power of happiness. Each time you smile, there are muscles of your body that relaxes. Engage in fun activities which you love that can make you smile despite your circumstances. 2. Workout Workout routines such as jogging, swimming and boxing are crucial aspects of intensive stress management. Not only will you be able to release some of those pent up steam, you will also be improving your health status. Engage in a workout routine on a daily basis. If you find exercising alone is difficult, ask a close friend or colleague or family member to join you. 3. Meditation Meditation is an ancient activity that has been passed on to the present generation. Unknown to a majority of people is that by meditating, they recharge themselves via inner positive energy. This helps relaxes your nerves. There are different meditation exercises such as Tai Chi and Yoga. These are practiced by several people worldwide and have been proven to enhance ones health. 4. Control your breathing One of the ways through which you can manage stress is breathing using the diaphragm. This type of breathing is known to trigger the relaxation points in the brain and you can sense the change in a matter of minutes. Exercise slow but deep breathing in a relaxed atmosphere. Breathe in while counting inwardly to four, hold the breath for a couple of seconds then breathe out slowly while inwardly counting to eight. This can be repeated several times until you are sure that you feel relaxed. 5. Talk to someone When you talk to someone close to you, you are releasing some of those pent up emotions. Choose someone who can listen to you without passing his or her own judgment on the issue. 6. Take up Yoga Yoga implements both meditation and physical exercise thus making certain that the body is functioning optimally. The benefit that yoga has is that it empowers you to manage triggers to stressors. 7. Progressive relaxation This entails inner muscle relaxation methodologies which aid one to identify tension and places that it stays in your body. The basic steps are to contract the muscles by force for a couple of seconds and release them. 8. Time management One of the major triggers of stress in the present age is time. Most have a sense of having so much on their shoulders but less time to complete the tasks assigned to them. In such instances, the first thing you need to do is to prioritize tasks according to need, where possible delegate some of the tasks. Procrastination only makes thing work as the pile keeps on increasing. 9. Dietary Recommendations The following dietary recommendations are key in managing stress: • Minimize intake of coffee. • Minimize alcohol intake. • Avoid taking refined sugar. • Eat balanced diet. 10. Take action It is recommended that when under stress take steps that will ensure that it does not lead to depression. This might entail seeking professional help. There are qualified medical personnel you can consult in such instances to help you with managing stress. Technological development in internet technology has also made it possible to seek free help from numerous online motivational and stress management site. No matter how small the step might seem, it could be a mile stone in eliminating stress. |

Hello HHSD Friends,
I feel happy and proud! I had another awesome day! My Thursday mornings feel like a weekend day now! I got to do another bay swim and 9-mile bike ride down at Mission Bay this morning. The day was beautiful and I spent it being healthy! Can't beat that!EATING: My eating was to plan again! Yeah! I am re-checking my day's plan the night before to make any modifications to accommodate scheduling and/or food that needs to be used up etc. I'm not changing much, but it does help to do the final look over the night before. Then there isn't any "emotion" or cravings involved in changing up my meals. I am following the EFL plan of 6 healthy balanced meals. EXERCISE: I'm also proud to be sore. (It made my gratitude list this morning!) My body is responding to my increased intensity in my workouts! Changing things up has really made me feel good. Well, a sore good! Ha-ha. ASSIGNMENTS: My sister reviewed my Assignment #8 for me on Tuesday night. I an "done", but still don't think I am ready to be finished. Hopefully in the next few days, I can actually feel more satisfied with my thoughts on it. Then I'll be sending it to my mom prior to posting it, since it affects her because it is related to resentment about my dad's death. It has been hard to admit this resentment, but at the same time empowering to face it and exciting to envision the day I will be free from the resentment. Yep, Step #8 is a TOUGH one! Good night, my friends! Off to do some Step #9 reading and then get to be early......especially since Divina made me list 10 good reasons to do so! ![]()

Dropping in to post my top 10 notes and the daily mini challenge before I go quick get my kids!
Top 10 Thursday - Ten things that popped into my head this morning that were making me feel happy--in NO particular order. 1. "Release the Guilt" 2. Divina 3. The sun 4. Trust in the universe 5. My kids 6. My husband 7. My t.com groups - LFF and HHSD 8. Hanna 9. Transformation 10. Life I LOVED this one, Divina! Thank you for posting it! And it looks like I'm going to beat you to posting your Friday idea.... (Thank you!)By the way--ANYONE is welcome to post the daily mini challenge. It doesn't even have to have alliteration--I just thought that was cute when I first started it. But I've been lamenting the fact that we don't have any days of the week that start with other letters, like L, D, ... hahaha. I was even thinking of posting the day of the week in Spanish for extra letters. Wouldn't that be a hack?!? LOL! Ok, so just know that anyone is welcome to doing it--just put it in purple, so it's easy to recognize! --Sheri P.S.: No time now, but I will check back in as soon as I can to catch up! |

Hi HHSD Friends,
Well, I wasn't able to hit all of my wins but still feel like I did a good job today. I cancelled my workout, as my plans had to change and my body feels so tired. I rollerbladed at the park with my daughter during part of my son's baseball practice. But, I took today off from real exercise! (We rollerbladed REALLY slowly!) My eating also wasn't perfect, but I did a good job. I added 1/2 piece of pita bread to a carrot & hummus midmeal. I also ate out at Pat & Oscars.....but I did NOT have a breadstick! This is HUGE for me as I LOVE their breadsticks. I ordered a southwest chicken salad with dressing on the side and only used a tiny bit. Not bad! I have decided to have a very limited free day this week. I will not indulge in a big huge pizza buffet, like usual. I will also not allow myself the sweets that I normally do. I need to see if this can make a difference for me! I seem to lose momentum and progress by going WAY overboard on my free day(s) on the weekend. I know this is against the idea of a free day, but I really want to free myself of some extra weight that I just haven't been able to remove. Now is the time, but it will take some extra dedicated and disciplined weekends to get me there! I'm so sad about the devastation from the tsunami in Japan. Isn't it so sad to see the destruction and know that those were people's homes and lives? Hope to see some posts this weekend!

I went on to write about my concerns about my Free day tomorrow. Good night ladies! Wishing you all a blissful weekend! (Oh, and wishing myself a blissful weekend, too!) xoxo, Divina |

Fly-by to say I'm still around--I gotta go get a 9 mile run in now, though. I'm going to take it easy on the speed this time because my calves are sore for some reason. All I can think of is that I was running while pulling Sara on the plasma car down the street yesterday without stretching--but it was a day off. Weird. At any rate, it is in my heart to catch up to see how everyone's been. I actually started writing shout outs from the last time I did them a few days ago, but then I got side tracked with something important. So I guess it wasn't side-tracked--it was just changing my activity to align with what was important to me!
Ok, ok, enough transformation talk. Gotta go. OH--and recommendation - read chapters 9 and 10! I will go back and post references to specific passages either here or probably in my assignments that I'll hopefully finish and post this weekend. But there is some GOOD STUFF in those chapters--they are among my favorites. I feel like there is just SO MUCH of the meat of transformation (or perhaps MY transformation?) in there. Ok, gotta go. *HUGS* Have a great Saturday, everyone! --Sheri P.S.: If anyone wants to take a shot at the daily mini challenge, please go for it. Otherwise, I will try to get one out there later today. Full day planned, though--run, bagels, Del Mar farmer's market (first day is today--off of Via de la Valle), Toys R Us, then whatever I have energy for after that--probably a NAP! ![]() |
