Good morning to all!!
I had an interesting revelation yesterday after my loss. My body has never let me down , it is me who has let my body down. And this after only 611/2 years of being with this body!!
Now this morning , I am still in a reflective mood so thus Dr. Seuss!! I went with my husband for a free meal of hamburger and fries. I had 2 bites of the burger and didn't like it at all. Before T.com I would have eaten it and complained, this time, I put it down. I quite enjoyed the fries!! A friend had dropped a bread pudding off as a treat for my husband. I had a big bowl of that and then went out with the girls. There was food but I didn't have any, there was nothing really appealed to me. Normally I would have had something. Now this morning.... I feel slugglish and heavy and woke up with a headache. I don't know how I feel about a free meal. I do know that it will have to be better than what I had yesterday, I don't feel cheated or anything like that but it wasn't worth it. So , I guess, I have learned that I am becoming more discriminatory about the food I put into this body so I won't let it down. An interesting day for me.....
Now for today.....
M1 EFL pancakes
M2 cheese, apples
M3 Carrot lentil soup
M4 smoothie, can't wait!!
M5 kale, quinoa, chicken
M6 cottage cheese and fruit
I feel better just writing it down!!
Goals
1.exercise
2. cleaning the house
3. baking cookies for Shrove Tuesday for the church
4. knitting, new project, a twist and twirl scarf
Going to do the cookies after lunch, worked for me last week. Going put them in the freezer at church tomorrow so they aren't around. I have a very busy few days coming up so I am going to putter today and enjoy my home and my own company unless someone calls and wants to do coffee, of course. Always up for that!
Have a great weekend. Thanks for for listening, knew you "wouldn't mind"!

Tom's Action Plan for Saturday

Overall Notes: Not much time for posting this morning. Today is a very busy day. We will be having the blessing/dedication of our church's property. We'll have a ceremony and a luncheon on the site (so we're REALLY praying for good weather). Our bishop is in town for the ceremony as are friends from around the state. My sweetie is the hospitality lady, so she's off early making arrangements, picking up supplies, etc. No time for exercise - meals will be "on the fly." Gotta run now.

Did I stick to the food & exercise plan yesterday?? Yes

Today’s Food Plan: Wheat-free & Low Glycemic Index (as I am able)

Wow, this place is hopping! I've got a bunch of stuff to get done, so I'll have to catch up on all your posts later, but I wanted to check in quick before my weekend starts.

My legs are still super-sore from my FBWO on Wednesday- I know, right? I did get to the gym on Thursday and did a 5K on the treadmill. I was sore but just HAD to try out my new shoes! lol Unfortunately something went wrong and my ankle ended up hurting pretty badly. I don't know if it's that I need a chiropractic adjustment to put everything back in place again, or if it's just that the shoes aren't working for me. I see the chiropractor on Friday, so we'll see if that helps. I actually got 2 pairs of shoes- Saucony & Newtons. I'm really excited to try out the Newtons, but there's literally no arch support, so the lady from the store recommended inserts. She said if I go running hills with them on Tuesday, Superfeet, the insert company will be there giving away $40 inserts for free! I figure I can find a babysitter for that!

Anyway, I've been doing fairly well with nutrition. The scale is down to 190.5! Only .6 to go before March 9th to reach my goal- totally doable! I had therapy last night, and it helped a bit to talk through some issues that I'm facing, but I didn't really come up with any solutions. Still working on it... Alrighty, time to get on with my day. Let's keep it healthy!

Good Morning

I ran 6 miles [win] and did not complete the 5/25. I will do a 5/25 FBWO this morning. I went down the pizza/brownie slide to food coma at work yesterday. It's that 1st bite that gets me in trouble!

Tom, praying for good weather.
Thia, Happy Birthday

I completed Step 7

Five things I can do between now and the end of the day tomorrow that move me in the direction of my goals and intentions are:

Exercise according to my plan established in step 2.
Closely adhere to my meal plan and note the beneficial effects.
Encourage and support my son Silas as he contemplates his future.
Check with my T-community friends to find useful tips and to verify that I followed through on my daily plan.
Grocery shop and by 80% fresh food.

1. Planned meals and workouts: Eat 6 Clean Meals; 86oz of water; 2 cups green tea

2. Daily Gratitudes: I have read the Transformation book but on every pass through I get a new insight that I can use!

3. Actions to move us forward: Prepare meals for next week.

5. Finding the lessons in our life situations: Meeting with friends that I haven't seen in 30 years today.

6. Lifting another person up: Encouraging family members in their endeavors

7. Progress over Perfection: I completed a six mile run last night after work [win]

Hill for Bill and Clarissa: Bike trail to Mt Tamalpais

Have a great weekend,

Roger

Happy Birthday Thia!! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Today's plan in up in the air as my hubby got sick last night. At a minimum I've got to get to the grocery store. We had originally planned on going to Santa Fe for some shopping but I don't know if he is up for that trip.

For today I will make good food choices, get on the elliptical for a HIIT, do all of my physical therapy and be a positive influence on my family!

My flash cards turned out great I love having them handy and ready for me to read whenever I have a moment of time. Reading/reviewing my goals, whys, and daily reminders multiple times a day is really helping keep me on track! YEAH!

Today I am grateful for my comfy bed, turkey sausage, my energetic girls, blue skies and show covered hills.

Strength, happiness and gratitude for everyone!

Happy Birthday Thia ! I'm sure you're going to enjoy the well wishes from all of us who are blessed to have you in our lives.

Last night I had too much alcohol and not enough food - not a good combination . Feeling slow this morning . My work out on such a beautiful morning will knock that out of me. I've started my day off right with a shake and have plans to be mindful of what and when I eat today.

Hal - I've done one HIT session . You're right - it is a better work out than I've been doing. I want to add more . What I've been doing is walk - jog - run full speed . Any suggestions and thanks for the input.

Time to get moving - have a great one all. John

Hey Team.

I hit a milestone today. I was under 240 pounds for the first time in 9 years! Really excited about the progress I've made during this challenge and about keeping it going. Next stop 230!

My wife and I are having a belated Valentine's Day dinner tonight for my free meal. I spent the morning Scouting for Food and have decided to postpone my last workout of the week until tomorrow. I'll do 40 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical.

Jenn, congratulations on the weight! You're going to blow right past that goal!

John, my pattern for HIIT is 2/2/1. That's 2 minutes of walking, 2 minutes of jogging, and 1 minute of running full speed. Try repeating that 5 times. If I'm taking it easy, I'll do 2/2/1/5. That means I do 2 minutes walking, 2 minutes jogging, 1 minute running and 5 minutes walking, before starting the sequence over again. I do that for a total of 40 minutes.

Posted this earlier on FB and thought I would share it here:

Wearing my Mr. Mom hat this morning while Julia is at a Girl Scout event with Natalie. Fed Alayna and helped her with dozens of requests. Fed Nathan some cereal. Changed his diaper and clothes. Played with him. Fed him a bottle. Rocked him to sleep. I'M BEAT! It's not even noon and I'm ready for sleep. My day job is so much easier! LOL I appreciate my wife so much right now and thankful for all she does for our family.

My day is still going and going. Reflected back on the week, I'm very happy I stuck with my nutrition and got in all my workouts. It feels good!

Nutrition today:
M1 - Eggs
M2 - RightLight
M3 - Turkey burger
M4 - RightLight
M5 - Steak & broccoli
M6 - Nutrition shake

Hi out there,
Jonathan, I had to laugh with your last video. You mentioned that your arms were sore and the camera was heavy. Not sure if you realized it or not but the camera was slipping down your face I thought I might see your feet. It is certainly hard when there are so many food events. I made cookies today for our church shrove Tuesday pancake supper and not one crumble made ot over my lips Tuesday, I am going to take Tex Mex salad to church. I have resolved to put fun before food but I will go prepared!!
I made the EFL pancakes this morning and for the first time I could flip them, they are so good.

Hal, Great day. I could hear your excitement!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend,
Nancy

Hello Everyone, I been gone for a moment was adjusting to my new job and schedule. I have been on target with my nutrition and exercise. I actually lost 8 lbs so far. I am so excited. I am loving the new job but I did have some issues with someone from the past that works for the same community. This person brought up certain feelings like hurt, sadness, and most of all anger. The person I seen was a detective that killed my brother. He works for the same community as I do. I know he noticed me and it happens that I had to run into him twice this week. I did talk this over with a few of my peers to help me vent and process these feelings. I know that I will continue to run into this person and it's going to be a challenge for me each time. The incident happened back in 2002 but i see that i never did get over this. I will have to work on this I can't let it keep me from going forward I will need to find a way to release this resentment that I have towards him. It will take some time but i need to do this.

Tom's Action Plan for Sunday

Overall Notes: Well, the weather cooperated and our church had a terrific dedication ceremony and lunch yesterday. Afterwards, I put in about 2 hours starting the paint-out of the home gym. In an effort not to overdo things, if I change my work habits to do only a few hours each day, it will take all week to finish the paint out and move the equipment. That's OK, right? I'll take a rest day from exercise and get back to the schedule tomorrow.

Gotta run now so I'm not late for church this morning. [It is highly noticeable when one the altar party is late.]

Did I stick to the food & exercise plan yesterday?? Yes

Today’s Exercise: Stretching routine
Countdown: 28 days until the GTM Reserve 10K trail run in S. Ponte Vedra Beach

Today’s Food Plan: Wheat-free & Low Glycemic Index

[I'm running too late to take the time to post the meal-by-meal plan.]

Tom, good work ethic. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of what's going on
Naomi, Thank you for sharing the load the sweet and the painful. Congratulations on your progress.

1. Planned meals and workouts: walk to meeting for prayer and meditation

2. Daily Gratitudes: Good visits with friends and my son. Son was treated well by Oklahoma City ballet during an audition yesterday!

3. Actions to move us forward: Beginning chapter 8 on forgiveness

5. Finding the lessons in our life situations: Seeking conscious contact with higher power

6. Lifting another person up: Re-assured a friend who was doubting herself

7. Progress over Perfection: Just put that workout in!

Hill for Bill and Clarissa: Sunny brisk day at Dolores Park

Have a good day,

Roger

Happy Sunday!

We are spending the day at the ski hill. My daughter and I are in the lodge with our electronics while everyone else is out skiing. We both both a little bummed, but this is how today is suppose to be. Tonight we will hang out with friends. And life is good.

I got a hoot on the elliptical this morning and two meals today will be free meals. Ok, every one has come in off the hill for a break... gotta run.

Good morning all.

Naomie, I'm so happy for your progress. I'm sorry to hear about the challenge, but it sounds like you are doing the work to let it go.

It's day 42 of my first 2012 challenge. Yesterday was a free day from exercise and food, but I logged my food and posted to T.com. I have some Boy Scouts coming over in a little while to work on Personal Fitness merit badge, then I'll head to the gym to do my sixth and final workout of the week.

My weight was up slightly this morning, as is to be expected after a free day, but I'm looking forward to my official weigh in tomorrow. I've got $10 riding on weighing 241.3 or less. That's a good bet, because even after the free day my weight this morning was 241.4. I'll take my six week pictures today or tomorrow. I'm looking forward to see the changes I've made.

It's a beautiful day in Dallas. Hope everyone has a great one.

Update: New Personal Best

I had a great HIIT workout this afternoon. The machine's heart rate monitor wasn't working, so I just went for it. First two miles in 12:50, 5.93 miles in 40:00! Shooting for 6 miles before long.
