BFLTom808 wrote at 04:43 AM on Jul 27, 2008

Greeting All, I would like to support you on that great #1 goal any any other goals you may have.... Well, there is a lady named Fran in my group who i am very very proud of...She lost 170 lbs....and i am very very proud of her.. One of my real good friend is a guy we call "Uncle Dave" He has gone thru a lot of adverstiy ...and lost over a hundred pounds.. Later on i'll be mentioning a lot about him...He is the most loved person in all of BFL... He has been in an out of hospitals and never has given up... I inherited my group from Uncle Dave Beechum of Missippi.. At first my group was run by a guy called "Doc" and then Dave.. It was origially more of an info site but Dave turned it into more of a support site...Later on i'll make a link to Body for Life Blizreig.. which is mine and Body For Life Texas.. Blitzrieg means "lightning war" and that is the original name "Doc" chose.. "Doc" must have written the most workout routines for BFLers of any guy in BFL.. Dave should write a book about BFL.... One thing i have said many times to Dave is he faced the most adversity i've seen and he wanted to be a Grand Champion more than anyone on the planet... One thing i told Dave numerous times what that he didn't have to prove anything to anyone....he is a grand champion as i see it just for going thru what he has and moving forward. One of the first things i did early today was to email Bill and mention some reason's why Uncle Dave should be here.. Well, i will be mentioning Kenny from Texas a lot .. He has so much fire going that he was unstoppable... and he would announce every day in the group he was going to be a champion... Well, one thing that happened with Kenny is i explained that the BFL contest is much important than qualfiying for the nationals or say.. getting a pro card.. After a while just being a cheerleader daily i saw Kenny doing everything right and later on i was up all night watching the votes come in. He is BFL champions book...which show 10 years of elite champions.. *****Now...as i see it everyone who just give the program half a chance is a champion ...and if you just finish on round ...as i see it you are a true winner... Getting to the here and now ...i hope you enjoy your free day... Jerome i see you up there...hows it going with solutions for your question? For your question the answer is probably is in calories in and out and working on training of abs and obliques etc. I am training abs every day ..and you can train certain muscle groups daily such as calves...if you want to..but is not necesary at all. The Abs Diet book has dozens of pages of Ab work... and you may want to add variation to any rountine. There is a concept that is popular now called "muscle confusion" Seems a big part of a sucessful training program is based on this.. Happens to be i made up a routine in the pool for abs.. and i like it better than being on the floor or on a machine.. There is a guy on Fit TV who came up with "Hip Hop Abs" and it actually is effective... and a lot that aren't... Happens to be right now if you lean forward in your chair right now you can do some kind of crunch.. Seems if a movement hits a muscle and you feel it it will work. I remember when hanging upside down with boots hooked to a bar was popular...but it didn't really target the abs well.. One routine i have now is 100 reps 3 times...kinda of fast. I know a guy who did abs like a cardio workout. Well there are some good abs machines in most chain clubs. The real key to your question seems to be getting a good calorie deficet going...and consistant training.. Seems there is no real Abs solution that works for everyone. One thing that does work for me is some distance cardio.. and very high reps in a few or more sets. One common mistake is training abs too hard and it make sthem bigger. There is a book by Clarene Bass called "Ripped" but a good CPT should have more than enuff movements... One thing worth mentioning is nowadays there are some trainers who have a 4 year degree in exercise science... I was taking advice from a guy with a PhD in kinesiology and he didn't didn't have any really good solutions.. There is a guy named Will Brink from Harvard who has two sites with a lot of info.. His plan works but the real key to it is no completly free meals.. The Ab's diet work as i mentioned works becuase it only has one free meal. During the end of this round i will be doing what is called triple splits and use part of Arnold's pre- conest plan, a lot of suppersetting and i will a have zero free meals..and a lot of cardio.. One thing to keep in mind is some folks do a lot of modifying at the end. One key to Porter Freeman's sucess was two day training.. at certain times. Arnold's Level II routine is a great double spilt...but it is hard to do.. None of his stuff is necessary at all ...i'm just mentioning what some folks are doing. For some folks it's easier to bulk up then do a lott of cutting.. esp if they are on the lean side.. One thing Jerome is you asked a question that their is no one solution to. There is this one workout partner i had who can eat whatever he wants to and he is allways ripped. The question of fat burners some folks take opens up another can of worms.. and according to Will Brinks most don't work and some are off the shelf because of a harmful drug in them. Personally i just take vites and supps, a sup for joints, Omega3's, Sometimes i use a safe sup for better recovery...called gutamine... Creatine works wonders for some folks...but not for me. I do take baby asprin which is good for most peoples hearts..and also for the long run i've come across some immune system "stuff" but it is expensive. I'm happy to tell you folks anything i do and everything i mention seems to have passed the test of time. By the way one thing i have avoided were steriods...even when they were legal and you could easily get a prescription... In the early days friends of mine and most folks had no idea of how harmful they can be ...the way they have been used and stacked with other drugs. ....Happens to be a friend of mine was trying to qualify for a nationals contest and he went striaght from the stage to the hospital.. He had a lot of junk in him including a lot of diruetics... *****One bit of advice i have to my friends in the gym is to avoid all of that stuff. Happens to be Will Brinks of Harvard is the guy the pros go to re- supplementation etc...he is one of the few folks that i've heard of who knows enuff to advise on that. He came up with a plan that is safer than Motrin , he says but on the other hand a lotta older BB's have a lotta health problems.... The thing is real quick i have only met one pro bb that wasn't using anabolics for most of his carreer and that was Dennis Terintino.. I respect the guy becuase i saw him after 18 years of training... My real heros are then natural ones...nuff said. Also after a lot of word my real heros in this program are one's who are running a high risk from obesity and get their health back ... In short ...to me the main thing is not a pretty after picture .... Ok..the main thing is maybe i can help steer some folks a bit into a better direction and away from what doesn't work. And Bills program is the best i've ever seen, Aloha, Tom
