Looks like you work out...

An, "ah haa moment" for sure.  I saw some friends I have not seen in awhile and one of them looked hard and said, "hey, it looks like you have been working out", to which I was thrilled someone noticed and I was very happy to tell them what I have been doing

Hi Chriss... Thought I would say hi...I saw your post in Angies profile...she is a friend of mine...one of my running buddies that meet at the crack of dawn because of her schedule...today 5am at the high school track where she teaches. I am also a Dental Hygienist...so you were the first other hygienist I have seen here so far!! I am not practicing right now...not sure if I will again or not. We can afford for me not to and I help my daughter out some with her 4 year old stepson...she recently married a year ago and just moved back here after finishing at Purdue in accounting. Hope you are seeing some success...this thing is certainly working for me. I started 7/21 and have dropped 10.2...thrilled as I had gotten to a point where I thought I couldn't really lose any significant amount of weight again...but woohoo...this works. We tried the Shrimp Scampi last night...yummo. How many days a week do you work? Susan

This Transformation process is the right thing to do. I keep telling myself this every time I meet someone who is going through the Jenny Craig process, weight watchers, you name it...the list goes on and on. Just the other day, I met up with someone I have not seen in a while, that lost a significant amount of weight with Jenny Craig, but she still was not happy with how her body looked. It's because she is now a thin fat person, because the body mass has made only slight changes, from fat to less fat. I introduced the concept of weight training and cardio to add lean muscle and reduce BMI. She basically said thanks, but no thanks. She did not want to put the effort of actually changing her body, but was willing to purchace and eat the tiny pre-packaged meals for a price. I remind myself on a daily basis that what I am doing will not only change the outside of my body, but also the inside.

Hey, thanks for your comment Bobby. It took me some time to figure it out, with the help of my smart hubby! I am ashamed of my before photos, but I know in 11 weeks I will be over it. Chriss

August 23, Saturday Had an emotionally draining day to start, just before my cardio. I did not let it keep my from doing my cardio, and at this point, I am trying to keep it from ruining my day with my terrific family. I need to keep my attitude up, stay motivated, and keep reading my goal card. It seems when I really mentally get going, that's when something creaps in to try to steal it away. I am sure everyone goes through this at some point. Chriss

All is going well, so far. I find I get myself into trouble when I am not absolutly prepared! I have been packing my food for the next day the night before, getting all my training clothes out and ready the night before, and even moved my alarm clock accross the room so I would'nt go back to bed after turning it off. I am so motivated to do this challenge that I almost feel unstoppable at this point! When I joined, I read Bill's book again, purchased the cook book to arm myself with new foods to try and also got a BFL journal to record daily activities in. My actual start date was this past Monday, the 18th of August. I used the past month to figure out this web site and read everything. I think this might be why I feel so motivated...being prepared for the journey ahead. So far, no one really comments anything to me, but that's o.k. I am hopeful I will make some friends along the way in this site. Chriss

I Am

I am a 44 year old wife and mother of two terrific teenage boys. I have been blessed with the best husband in the world! I am a dental hygienist in private practice and also teach in a dental hygiene school. I love to work out but have difficulty with eating right all the time. Bill Phillips is my work out mentor. I have learned so much from him in the past. I will do a new challenge to help me be the best I can be!

My Favorite Charity

Christ Life Church Missions Out Reach

To me, Transformation Means

Making steps in a positive direction in three aspects: physical, spiritual and mental.

My Goals

Complete this new challenge for myself, and to sharpen my mental aspect and how it is connected to the physical and spiritual aspects of this journey. Another goal of mine, and this is very personal but needs to be addressed, is that in the past year I have had difficulty with some one that has caused me to be the kind of person I do not like being. From now, and as a focus of my Transformation, I will not speak unkind words about this person to anyone, that means gossip, malicous talk, or negative body language. Having it written here will hold me accountable.

My Intentions

Train hard, eat clean, and to give abundantly.

Who I'd Like to Inspire

My family, work friends, and others I come in contact with.
