Hi guys,
I'm posting really quick. I have a ride planned today. Wasn't sure we were doing it as Frank started a new job and didn't know he'd be home
Next weekend he may be working. We shall see.

Everything is going great..I am doing the plan but will have to step away from the scale. That thing is confusing me. I gain one day and lose the next. So on and so forth..LOL..Wonder if it has anything to do with being almost 50?

OH WELL!! I feel great and heck fire..Even my honey says I'm looking great..So I'll take that and keep going LOL...

I will choose wisely while out today. I can't say what that will be yet I will be back either later this evening or in the morning to update and play catch up on all you wonderful healthy people

Hi Everyone,

I have a prayer request. My 14 year old nephew is in Children's Hospital. His blood sugar was over 1,000 which can put you in a diabetic coma - it is critical. He was diagnosed today with type 1 diabetes. I am heading over to see him right now. He lives in Arkansas and is on spring break visiting his Dad here in town so I am blessed to be able to see him right now.

My niece is on her way from Arkansas bringing her 1 year old and they will be staying here with us until Cade is released from the hospital. I am looking forward to seeing and spending time with them - under not so great circumstances - but I still get to see my baby niece!!

Hi everyone!
I didn't give up but I've been feeling horrible since Wednesday evening. Have hardly been eating and so weak that I haven't been able to keep up workouts. Of course I still had to drag in to work Thursday and Friday so just resting today and hoping to feel better and just right back in the swing of things by tomorrow. Happy belated birthday Mary! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Renee, so sorry to hear about your nephew...thankfully he's in the best setting to get his blood sugar under control! That had to have been scary...both for a young teen, as well as his parents! Keeping him in my prayers!

Jim and I decided to head to Tempe today to a classic car show...it was fun!
Nutrition has been good - esp. since my slip up on Wednesday evening - that brownie made me feel awful..
My plan for today:
M1 - Fiber One and strawberries
M2 - RL
M3 - WW bread with chicken breast/lettuce/tomatoes
M4 - 3 egg whites/kiwi fruit
M5 - Salmon burgers (these things are yummy - esp. since we cook them outside)
M6 - Cottage cheese or greek yogurt with strawberries or banana
Everyone, have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
All the Best!
Mary

Nutrition was on track today. Even with attending a charity event this evening with food, they had good choices for me to eat and stay on track. Had a great experience yesterday I wanted to share. I met with my mentee, Thomas, whom I work with in the TeamMates mentoring program through the schools. Last year we met weekly after school to cook. He wants to be a pastry chef, so he wanted to focus on candies and all manner of goodies.. So each week we focused on making sweets and I took part of them home and sent the rest home with him. (We started this before I began my transformation). Once I had started transformation we sent everything home with him and he began to see the changes in me. We've not met regularly this year due to his sports schedule so yesterday we were discussing what we want to put on our cooking list and he responded with "Do you know about my dad?" Knowing his dad's health history I guessed that he had diabetes. He confirmed it. He then wanted to try to find some diabetic dessert recipes. What a kid! We then did a google search and figured out what we will make for next week. All this to say: it is amazing, when you keep yourself open to it, the transformational effects you can have on those around you.

Meditation: 3 morning pages
Gratitude: I am grateful that I have the opportunity to participate in a great mentoring program and provide support and opportunities for a young man that he may not otherwise have. I am grateful for the inspiration he brings to my life.
