Prayer Request for My Aunt Joan

Hi guys..the power of prayer is so amazing that I am going to reach out to you to say a prayer for my Aunt Joan who was diagnosed with spine cancer (I didn't even know that existed) last week. She is to remain in the hospital for the next 20 days for chemo because the pain is so intense she has to be on a morphine drip. The prognosis is not good for cancer like this. She is the most amazing, caring, loving person I have ever had the pleasure to be around and my Uncle Frank and her two kids Chris and Lisa will be beyond devasted if they lose her. As will I.

Thank you...I do appreciate you all beyond words.

Lord God you are a Mighty God and a healer, provider. Your word says my grace is sufficient for us. Lord I ask for healing in Aunt Joan, Lord Jesus you are the Omega, Beginning and the End nothing is too great for You. Bring peace and strength to Aunt Joan's family as they endure this with her. Your word says where there is two or more gathered in Your name, You are there. I ask in Jesus Mighty name......Amen!

She will be in my prayers Melissa! Big hug to you as well. Hang in there my friend. Love you.....

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

In all things I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me. (Romans 8:37)

These are two verses I wear on dog tags around my neck. I wear the armor of God's word to give me strength through the pain of my loss and unfortold future. It gives me much peace to know God's plan is so miraculous in it's infinite design. I choose God's plan over my own. I have learned amazing lessons and been blessed abundantly for accepting His will over my own. It isn't easy, but it is in prayer that I find the strength to accept my role and participate fully.

I pray for your aunt and her family to find peace and strength. I pray that they F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely On God) through this whole experience. I pray for her to be able to rest, not suffer and to find peace as she walks in faith and trusts in His plan, keeping her eyes on the Coach the entire way. He will lead her to victory.

Blessings to you too....today and always.
Denise

Mellie, I will pray for you and your family. Here is a verse I find comfort in in a time like this..God Bless you, Mona

"Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion" Psalms 103:1-4

Mellie,
The Bible gives us some directions on how to pray for healing. For example, in James 5:14-15 we are told: "Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15) And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven." and in James 5:16 we are asked to "confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."

I believe in the power of prayer and I know you do to because of your request. May God bless you and your family during this time in your life and continue to work through all of us to make the burdens lighter for all.
Peace,
Dave

I just got off the phone with my mother and we have what could be considered "better" news. After further testing today she does not have spinal cancer, she has AML Luekemia. They are going to treat her agressively, keeping her in the hospital for the next 40 days doing 7 days of chemo followed with 7 days rest. I googled it and this is what I found out....

AML is a very common form of leukemia in adults. More than 10,000 adults are diagnosed each year in the USA. 65 is the average age of people diagnosed with AML. Acute myelogenous leukemia affects more men than women, and is a little more common among whites than blacks.
Prognosis, Survival Rates, and What to Expect
70% to 80% of acute myelogenous leukemia patients experience complete remission. In total, about 20% to 30% of patients survive and are free of AML 5 years after the diagnosis. AML patients who have not had a relapse during this time are considered completely cured, because most relapses happen within 2 years of the AML diagnosis.
Acute myelogenous leukemia patients who are under 60 years of age have a better chance of survival than those patients that are older. This is due to many factors including being able to stand the strong chemotherapy medicines that are used to treat AML. With no treatment, AML leukemia patient life expectancy is about 3 to 4 months.
