Hormones and weight loss
Hello Everyone. It's been awhile. I updated two photos one from my 23rd birthday in January. I also uploaded one from this amazing hike I went on and accomplished.
I have a question. I guess for females but anyone who knows anything I am open for answers. My hormones are completely out of wack. I started January 1st loosing weight again, lost 10 pounds so far. Now I am stuck in the plateau area. In this one weight, and thank goodness I am not gaining but I am not loosing either. I was told my my hormones are all crazy like I said up there. But I was given the smallest birth control pill ever, not for not getting pregnant but to get my hormones controlled. I was wondering could my hormone problem be my problem for not being able to keep loosing weight? Would you think when the pill is regulated that it would help my weight loss more? I didn't really get to talk to my doctor on too much of this topic. He said loosing weight is important and getting hormones together is important. Would those two things go together? Thank you very much. -Catherine |

Hi Catherine,
I have the same issue. I'll lose weight pretty well, then it just stops for a couple of weeks. I just figured it was the body's way of trying to self preserve, so I haven't really worried about it much. I just keep eating right and doing what I need to do and I know over time it will all come off. It took some time to put this weight on, my body has maintained it for a long time, so I figure it will take some time to get it all off. You might want to give your doctor a call though, just to ask if the medication you are on has side effects such as weight gain. I know when I was on birth control pills years ago, they made me gain weight. I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago and am now 48 so I'm going to have my doctor check my hormone levels as well since I have no idea if I am starting menopause. Just keep eating right and exercising and I'm sure your body will respond over time. I just keep telling myself... Today is the first day of the rest of your life... You are already down 10 pounds since January which is great for your body and your health. |

Thanks for responding back. Now I am 12 pounds down.
Well it's one of the lesser known side effects and plus this one was made for those under the BMI of 35. So I don't think it will. But I will keep an eye on it. ![]() |
