Last Day on Earth........

Today was my nephew's last day on Earth last year. He took his own life, he was 16, fun-loving, charasmatic, absolutely adorable. When he walked in a room, everyone wanted to be around him. He made you feel good about yourself, when you talked to him, you felt like you were the only one in the room. He was a star baseball player in High School, he was the quarterback.....he had the "it" factor. But noone knew how depressed he was. I got to thinking today.........I wonder what Jesse did on his last day.If it were your last day on Earth, what would you do? Would you make sure the laundry was done, the dishes were clean & the floors vacuumed? Or would you live it to the fullest? Making sure you told everyone that you loved them, treated everyone kindly, spent some extra time with loved ones, maybe sit a little longer and listen to your grandparents tell stories of "back in the day?" Why can't we make the time to do this regularly? Why do many of us live such chaotic lives? Do we create them ourself? Or does it just happen? So, today I made sure to take some extra time with my sons........we swam the whole afternoon away, with dirty dishes in the sink, the beds not made and laundry spilling over. You know what? It was all still there when I got done! But I had the most memorable day. And that cannot be replaced by an empty kitchen sink
Take time, for yourself and make sure that the ones that mean something to you, know it. Life is not a guarantee, make the most of it!

I am sorry that happened...that has to be very difficult...but thank you for sharing it here....making us all realize that stupid stuff like dishes and laundry should be no where near as important as taking time to love, to live, to share and to care. Thank you for this.

Tinkle, How beautiful it is that you honor Jesse in this way. Spending time with those we love and creating special memories are the most beautiful and forever moments. Jesse is a bright light and I'm sure you miss him dearly... Hugs.

I'm so sorry Tinkle, that your nephew Jesse left. It was really good of you to write about him here. I hope it helped alleviate some of the pain.

Keep remembering

Hi Tinkle,
I am so sorry for your loss.
We lost my beautiful 17 year old nephew in a canoe accident in 2002.
There were times when I was so torn apart I thought I wanted to join him.
In cases like this time does not heal all wounds. I think what happens is that
you just have more days where you can smile but you never forget.
Honoring Jesse the way you did is wonderful and I thank you for
sharing it with me. My nephew's name is Tom and I know that he's
up there rooting for me through my Transformation just like Jesse is for you.
Keep on keepin on,
Seasoul

Thanks for sharing this story...we all need reminded of what a gift life is.
I lost my big sister unexpectedly when I was a little girl, so I learned young that we never know when it WILL be our last day...we need to appreciate them all, don't we?
Much Love-
Amy
