Fair Dinkum - That was a serious problem. I have trouble figuring out how someone can destroy themselves like that but am thankful that they can find themselves out of it.

Thanks Kevin, this hits home with me, especially at the end when he says in the dark for so long and now in the light. I can feel every ounce of what he felt and there is no feeling like it.

When he describes (as his voice cracks) being addicted the first time, I know most folks don't get that and they can't understand why he would do that to himself and family, but BELIEVE me when I say this the DISEASE of addiction/alcoholism is mean, nasty, evil, and destrcuctive. When he promised he would quit many times he meant it from every cell in his body but the disease had already taken over.

You're right Stoney about his comment about being in the dark, I can totally relate! I just made a similar statement in another thread:

There is light in my heart now where there was only darkness not so long ago!

It's so wonderful to be out of that darkness!

It's an amazing story, gang. There's plenty more of these out there. It's our job to find them, and bring everyone to this kind of Transformation, addiction or no addiction. Addictions come in more than substance form, so the field is wide open.

I'm brought back to Clarissa's question, "What are you willing to do for it?" Are you willing to throw a heart effort into this thing called Transformation? If you could only impact one life, would it be worth it?

Transformation declares with a SHOUT...yes, it is worth it. So let's get to it...

The ending rubbed me wrong; it ended kind of ...hopeless. Like the high school coach doesn't think he's really clean? Or, maybe that the darkness is always going to be RIGHT there, real close...?

I could see his pain in his eyes. I pray that he is able to continue making the right choices. Like he said getting clean was easy...staying clean is much harder. That was a powerful story Kevin. Thank you for sharing that. We all have NO reason to be weak or uncommitted...NONE!

Kevin, Thanks for that video. I went through my years of drugs and drinking. I served 8 months in jail. I thank the lord for helping me get off of them! True change comes from the heart. I pray he can stay clean.

That's the best mini doc I've every watched in terms of showing the difficulty and struggle of a recovering addict; not in getting clean but in staying clean. The uncertainty of the ending is frankly upsetting to me, but that's why it was so informative for me to see. Gives me a much better understanding of the ongoing struggle of a recovering addict. Thanks for posting Kevin.

Wow that was a great piece to watch. There were a few things he shared that really stuck out to me, probably one of the most important was when he said, "I just kept showing up" I understand that - getting clean and sober is easy - it is staying clean and sober that is reality, because life is life and all the reasons we drank and use are still present, it is how we approach them that takes work.

I understand the coach, because perhaps he is not in recovery so he doesn't know that there is hope and that if you have a relationship with God and do the spiritual footwork great things can come to pass, even for us alcholics and addicts.

The truth is this - the disease is powerful - it is cunning - it lays in wait and it doesn't matter how much time you have clean and sober all it takes is just one hit or drink and that allergy is back on you - you are back at day 1. Treat it seriously, it is dangerous, share what you have been so freely given with others so that they to can find the hope that will transform their lives!
